I deleted the Safeway App today. In a world of big data Safeway will not have mine. 6 out of 6 shopping trips at least one items did not “clip” correctly. Usually store deals and produce. Also I noticed my phone getting hot. It has not done so since removing this. And each time the cashier would not override it. Sometimes there was a significant difference $10 for chips and $5 for avocados. No I will only used physical coupons. My data is mine you thrives. You are counting on people not checking or busy people or poor seniors or very poor people without fancy phones. This is wrong and I will not play this game for food!!

I think it is deceiving to put things on sale and then never have the products, however, as soon as they are off sale, bingo, they have them readily! Example - counter chicken breasts. Stopped in 3x - nope. Off sale, right back in. There are a lot of examples lately. Even the employees have mentioned how "strange" it is. Another ding is I wanted to contact Safeway via email and all you can do is call or mail! Really! So, if it continues, I plan on contacting whatever regulatory agency I need to and the BBB. These sales are being used to get you in the store and all they are doing is being very, very irritating! If they don't want to sell things at a certain price, don't put them in the damn ad! Other than that, we like Safeway but are starting to feel they are manipulative. Edit - this is Safeway in the Mesa AZ area at Alma School/Guadalupe. However, it happens at all Safeway's in our area. Does Albertsons get first dibs on product and Safeway gets the leftovers? That I have not checked as there isn't an Albertsons in close enough proximity to us.

Stood in line at food counter with young lady standing there watching, they were busy, After 3 min. of standing there waiting and making eye contact several times, she finally asks if I've been helped. After getting my order, with over a dozen employees working in the deli, she tells me no one can ring me out and I'll need to go through the regular check out line. The sweet older lady working the ONE open check out counter then charges me for the ranch which they have always given me in the past with chicken. Next the register freezes up and I have to stand there and wait until a manager comes over to figure out how to unlock it. So much for over half of my lunch hour. The general atmosphere was like everyone was stressed or cranky. I guess in retrospect I could have provided MY labor for FREE and checked myself out. How long would my customers stay my customers if I expected them to come to my shop, fix their own vehicle and then pay FULL price for the privilege to do so ???

Dear Safeway: My doctor prescribes meds for me that are classed as narcotics. When I try to get fills at the Port Townsend Safeway, the pharmacy people tell me that I have to come in on a certain day at a certain time and stand in line and wait for my prescription to be filled. This is totally unacceptable. My fill dates are irregular. I don't own a car. I need to order and pick up in a way that doesn't create an appointment. At QFC, I call in the prescription and it is waiting for me whenever I arrive to do my grocery shopping. I can do this any time that is convenient for me. You are making this so hard that I have no choice except go elsewhere for all my groceries and meds. I typically spend over $100 per week on average for these. You do the math -- do you really want to lose my business ( $5,000 per year) because you can't figure out how to serve customers well and conveniently? I intend to post this on Trustpilot. Are you aware of how much your online customer ratings SUCK? Why would anyone shop at a store with such negative reviews and bad policies?

The Safeway in McMicken Heights/SeaTac, WA fired a LONG term, hard working, very pleasant employee Rita because she chased down one of the MANY bums who rip Safeway off. I am SICK to DEATH of the complacency of this Safeway and the waste of their (ie MY) money in hiring a smiling puppy of a "security" guard who does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to deter or detain thieves! I wrote to the store AND the regional office and all I got was absurdly canned responses! No one bothered to personally contact me. Due to this AND the fact that there are enough other grocery stores in the vicinity I have not shopped there (and will not) since this occurred. I find their complacency appalling and lack of response cavalier. It's evident that they simply prefer to up their prices and charge me (and all of the other paying, law abiding shoppers) to cover the added expenses of the "guard" and ALL of the product the thieves make off with! Safeway has totally lost their way and I'm not going to give them any more of my business!!!

Visited our Safeway in Pollock Pines. Karen, acting as manager, I guess, was exceptionally friendly today. Refund, in cash, no questions asked. I've always had good, friendly service at this store, even when power out (with snow) or Highway 50 closed.

Yogurt Parfaits: A Roller coaster ride of pricing. They used to sell a pretty good sized fresh yogurt parfait for $2.99. Now they made the size smaller BUT kept the price the same which wasn’t ok but I managed, NOW, they up the price but didn’t change the size. They are now $3.50, GREEDY MUCH?! No wonder there were so many there left on the shelf. I didn’t think Safeway would jump on the inflation bandwagon but it turns out they are just as greedy as the rest. I will never shop there again

This is in reference to Safeway at 35th ave/Bell Road. This is a store where local elderly and middle class/poor go to. I went there due to the sales and the convenience near my granddaughter's school. 1) I want to commend an employee first: Ryan-butcher. Now, please note that when you use the Safeway or Albertson's app to clip digital coupons, they DO NOT WORK. I just bought $235+ groceries, was totally absorbed in bagging my food and watching my 5 year old granddaughter so I could not watch each item being rung up. The next day (TODAY) I am reviewing my receipt with their clipped digital coupons on my phone. I will have to go back in there to get $53.66 refunded. Can you imagine how many people are RIPPED OFF regularly without combing throught their receipts and assuming the coupons are working? I had it happen at the Albertsons' and reloaded the app as they said that it happens and you have to reload the app! BUYER BEWARE, please.
