The new pharmacy section in the Safeway app or on their website is pretty bad compared to the old app. Today is a never ending cycle of trying to log in, get to the log in page and it takes me right to where I can create an account. Or log in. I try to log in. Takes me back to create an account or log in. I can’t access my account. It does this often. The other issue is there are multiple alert messages on the account & you have to get rid of them or they just stay there. The app lets you know if you have a prescription ready. After the prescription is picked up, you have to remember to delete that notification. That is very confusing. The old app didn’t do this. The old app showed your prescriptions in a list and it was very clear what you had, what needed refills and what was expired. You really have to hunt around now to figure this out. I deleted a bunch of old messages yesterday and today some of the popped back up. I can’t believed they rolled this out without fixing the bugs. I’m not sure why they got rid of the app, but it was bad idea. Seems like they could have given us something to rely on.

I am a genius and I ran an experiment on working at Safeway. Constraints of the experiment were that I could not make $1,400 a month. I like to work so this was detrimental to me. It meant I would only be able to work 20 hours a week. I wanted to keep my pay as low as possible so I could work more. My experiment was to see why the people at Safeway were truly unhappy working there. Money off the table and laziness out the door would I continue to enjoy the employment. What I discovered is that I did not and what it boiled down to is a failure in management. I worked so hard that I had sweat running down my face for several days of employment. I was enjoying myself until I had worked in this manner and 10 minutes to the end of my shift I had finished my tasks and went to look for the manager. When I found the manager I saluted him and said I was done as if to say I was leaving for the day. It had been a 5 hours shift and I had not taken a break (by law it is required to take a 10 minute break). When I saluted the manager he turned away from me because he knew what he was about to say was wrong. He said take the last 8 minutes, go in the back, grab a cart, and stock shelves. I could have said no I had not taken a break and it is required by law, but I did not. I felt like my hard work was unappreciated. I was unhappy with my job for the first time. The next day the manager because of a snafu with the handheld device gave 4 lbs. of chicken to a customer that was not even upset. Then I was really upset. I had worked so hard for Safeway and they could not give me, the employee 25 cents for the 8 minutes the night before, but give away $6-$8 worth of chicken for nothing. If people are happy they work harder and they’re happy to do so if they feel appreciated , read any book on being a good manager. A few other things happened and I had to scrub the experiment lest I become unhappy and fall into a depression from lack of appreciation from management. The problem with Safeway is it’s culture. I wish I could have stayed longer and had the ear of the store manager, perhaps I could have extended my experiment into turning around the culture. I had many ideas that adopt the use of psychology to manipulate the mindset of the employees to make them happy and feel like a family reducing the turnover rate. Safeway on Alma School and Chandler Blvd in Chandler, AZ is a human meat grinder and all you will find in emotional damage stemming from the managerial culture.

Ordered at 7 AM for a 9 AM delivery; canceled the booking 24 hours later - Next Day! No communication from Safeway in the meantime. Cancellation and refund takes 5 to 7 days! Kicker: Cancellation confirmation takes 5 to 7 days - After refund is issued. (Reminded me of service in government owned banks in developing countries - except they are getting better.!) One star is one too many...!

Safeway on Williams highway in Grantspass. The question is WHY? go in there unless you want your day ruined and high blood pressure. There digital deals never work and all they ever say is Sorry!!!! Like really waste my time and energy. There app sucks. Nothing ever rings up right and all they ever do is NOTHING!!!! Save yourself some misery and shop somewhere else!!!!

I am trying to set-up my father for home delivery. He is elderly and has dementia. Safeway is the only store in his area that delivers food. The store says they deliver to his zipcode and area. However, the online order optino says they do not deliver and will not process the order. The app also states that they do nto deliver to the zipcode. I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled at the suggestion of the customer service agent and it still does not work. I ahve spent hours on this issue (12 customer service contacts) and I still cannot order him food. Safeway has the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. My only option now is to make the 7 hour drive to get my dad food.

Closing down customer service early every day is ridiculous, why have operation hours and not keep them hours but yet close it early because no workers are allowed to keep it open till time of hours then go clock out for the day. Was told the reason is they are required to clock out at the exact time the customer service department closes, but yet can't clock out from that computer when closing it up for the night. This is the Chewelah location. They seriously need to schedule their workers better work times.
