We got a buy one get one free special. The food was excellent. The bar drinks were top-of-the-line. We were able to drink delicious spring water, Avian, etc. The wine choices superb. We had our laundry done, including our undergarments that were placed in lovely bags when delivered. We received wonderful service. Every room has a balcony. The rooms were a nice size. Upscale of course. I guess more people leave negative reviews than bother to leave good reviews. I would definitely love to go on a cruise again.

I thought Regent was an upscale cruise…
I thought Regent was an upscale cruise line.
It’s not upscale at all.
The food was mediocre at best.
I would never go back to the restaurants on the ship.
They nickel and dime you everyday.
It’s all one big hustle.
Find a better place to specs your money.

I booked a cruise to Alaska for next…
I booked a cruise to Alaska for next June. 9 months away, my partner died suddenly and they refuse to refund my deposit absolutely shocking, they will just resell, it hasn't cost them 1 penny yet they chose to steal £2500 from me. No compassion whatsoever, Never ever should you give them a penny.

We booked a Regent Cruise trip from Vancouver to Whittier, Alaska on the Seven Seas Explorer followed by a four night extension in August 2026.
We were appalled by the rudeness we received from Nathan, at “Destination Services” (handles shore excursions). We had spoken to him about an excursion the next day and upon leaving our cabin a few hours later found new tickets for that excursion that started four hours earlier at 6:45 AM (Destination Servjces is open from 8-8). There was no phone call from Destination Services and by the time we received this the Destination Service desk had just closed.
However, we spotted him behind the lobby desk and called him over. He explained that they don’t call pax if their tour is cancelled or changed (he said “we can’t possibly call every affected pax”), and it’s tough luck if you don’t see the alternative tickets delivered to the pigeon home outside your room. When we pointed out that since he knew about the change when we had just spoken to him about our excursion, he said: “I’m removing myself from this conversation. I have never met such uneducated people”. He then stormed off.
Fortunately, the shocked receptionist was able to call his supervisor, who booked us into a different tour. However, this supervisor only said he would speak to Nathan. No further acknowledgment or apology that this was completely unacceptable behavior was forthcoming. While we were firm and clearly dissatisfied, at no time were we rude and we certainly did not insult him.
In speaking about this incident to other guests, they also had had poor experiences with Destination Services and this young man in particular.
Despite Regent claiming to be the most luxurious cruise ship, clearly they cannot attract, performance manage or suitably train their customer facing staff.
Now for the rest of our feedback:
1. Cabin service was excellent.
2. Food, other than Pacific Rim, was reasonable but not spectacular;
3. Seven Seas Explorer bills itself as a smaller cruise ship. We were, however, surprised at how impersonal it felt to be on a 700 pax vessel. Think of being in a luxury convention hotel.
4. A major disadvantage of travelling with Regent is that it lacks the higher pax traffic and long standing relationships that other cruise lines have developed in Alaska. Therefore, the ship either tendered or was berthed away from the main harbor. This meant you could lose several hours waiting to disembark instead of being able to enjoy the attractions. (Pro tip: do the helicopter and dog sledding experience on the Mendenhall glacier).
5. The land extension is overpriced and not worth it. Other cruise lines send staff to check venues and itineraries. Regent stopped doing this a few years ago and it shows. Example, from leaving the ship early in the morning the whole day only included a one hour excursion. The rest of the day was spent in the lobby of the hotel waiting for rooms to be ready, while other cruise ship pax had priority. (Rooms should have been ready at 4:30 PM but we couldn’t access our rooms until nearly 5 PM given other cruise ships had priority, and this is even with our guide, Cathy, having asked Regent to arrange prompt check in for our group a few days in advance.) Cathy was fantastic and worked hard to salvage Regent’s itinerary, which even included giving her a different pick up time than us. L(Note: she filled in for a sick colleague, so Regent gets no credit in selecting her as our guide.)
We won’t be back for more of the world’s “most luxurious cruise ship.”

Thieves
If you're okay having your belongings stolen from your room in this ultra-luxury cruise, and having Regents tell you "there's nothing we can do" after waiting weeks for an answer, Regents is for you.

Regent kept $14,490 after my father died; no refund, credit, or rebooking
My father died on July 3, 2026. He and my mother were booked on a Regent Seven Seas cruise departing September 1. After his death, my mother cancelled the trip. Regent kept the entire $14,490 they had paid.
We asked Regent to make an exception under truly extraordinary circumstances. We were not demanding anything unreasonable, we asked whether they could provide a refund, a partial refund, a future cruise credit, or even allow my grieving mother to rebook. Regent offered absolutely nothing. Not one dollar back. Not even a credit toward another sailing.
I understand that cancellation policies exist. But there is a difference between enforcing a policy and hiding behind one when a passenger has died and the surviving spouse cannot possibly take the planned vacation. Regent chose to keep every dollar paid by a deceased passenger and his grieving widow rather than offer even the smallest gesture of humanity.
Regent markets itself as a luxury cruise line built around exceptional service. In our family’s most painful moment, we experienced the exact opposite: rigidity, indifference, and a complete absence of compassion.
Policies reveal what a company is legally entitled to do. Situations like this reveal what kind of company it chooses to be.
I would never book with Regent again, and I strongly encourage anyone considering this cruise line, especially older travelers and families, to understand how they may be treated if tragedy strikes.

No customer service
This week I made three requests for quotes and information to book a cruise, but no one seems available to answer customers in this 6* company...
