rssc grandeur cruise-Not worth the money- terrible booking system for the restuarants and excursions before you leave the country, some staff are wonderful others nice but no more friendly than other lines terrible food for vegetarians. Basic for vegans, mainly rice, pasta or stir fry, No choice at buffet limted dinner menu and dismissive staff if you complain about the cold food . No choice for veggies at Cream tea and that was not special, very rushed, one pot of tea, no time for another pot, cakes boring, tiny teaspoon of cream, etc. Nothing special here and def. not worth the price tag.

Missing bag on disembarkation on Regent Seven Seas Voyager
Our Regent cruise started in Athens, Greece, and ended in Trieste, Italy. We were travelling with two other couples and upon disembarkation, had booked a taxi from Trieste to Venice, where we were all planning to stay for a couple of days.
I feel compelled to mention our disembarkation debacle first! Most cruise lines ask that the passenger's luggage be placed outside the cabin door the night before, and it is collected and available for pick-up once you disembark the next morning. Everyone in our group found their bags, except that mine was missing. We waited till all the bags were collected, thinking that perhaps someone picked up the wrong bag and left theirs behind. But that wasn't the case - all the bags were collected, which led us to believe that one of the passengers had taken an extra bag. We filled out a missing bag complaint with Regent, and in all that hectic confusion, it dawned on me that I had an air-tag in the bag and I could see that the bag was moving on the expressway towards Venice. So, we hopped into our taxi and headed towards Venice. The bag eventually stopped moving when it reached Venice airport, which was not our final destination that day. When we asked the taxi driver to take us to the airport instead of to our hotel in Venice, he was furious and said that it would cost us an extra 75 Euros. As there was no other option, we agreed and headed to the airport. After a lot of running around, we found the bag in the possession of a Regent passenger, at a Delta check-in counter. When asked why he had taken my bag, he nonchalantly replied that I had not tagged the bag correctly, which by the way I had! Instead of apologizing, he was rude and didn't offer any explanation as to why he had picked up an extra bag.
On reaching home, I wrote to Regent and to my dismay, all I got was superfluous platitudes, which was rather disappointing and disgraceful on Regent's part. I informed Regent that I wasn't asking to be compensated for the fiasco, and that I was just looking for them to acknowledgement their responsibility, which they blatantly said wasn't theirs but of the Port Authority.
That was a total cop-out on Regent's part, and it truly stank! It would have behooved Regent to accept the fact that these incidents happen and in keeping with their supposed exceptional customer service that Regent boasts of, made an effort to comfort the customer in any way possible.
That being said, the ship had recently been refurbished, but it wasn't extraordinary, just what one would expect after paying Regent's somewhat inflated pricing.
The suite was clean and comfortable and the staff on board was phenomenal, starting from the suite attendants to the general restaurant and service crew.
The quality of the food left a lot to be desired, except for the two specialty restaurants, where the food was far superior.
The entertainment on board was mediocre, at best.
What was disappointing was the excursions, some of which were included in the price of the cruise and some we had to pay extra for. Regardless, quite a few of the tour guides couldn't express themselves too well in English, and it got frustrating at times. Just because some excursions are "free" which of course they are not, Regent may not be vetting the tour guides to the extent that they should!
Needless to say, we will never travel on Regent again!

The Effect of Culture Differences
Our cruise on the Seven Seas Voyager in November/December 2025 was totally different in culture and impression than our first Regent Seven Seas cruise on the Seven Seas Navigator (April 2025). We found out that Regent Seven Seas launched a new tool, Regent Connect, part of the Regent Elevate program designed to help Asian travel agents personalize the client experience. This cruise was made-up of more than 50% Asians from Hong Kong and China who got a substantial cruise discount. Between 150-170 Asians from Hong Kong booked this cruise through the same travel agency. After going to the website (translating to English and converting HKDollars to USDollars), we were totally shocked to see the prices this travel agency was offering on select Regent Seven Seas cruises. Some of the packages include roundtrip airfare on Turkish Airlines. We are not sure if the travel agent cut their commission to get the prices lower or if Regent Seven Seas gave them a lower discount than any other region in the world to grow the Asian region. Whichever option, RSSC’s strategy may backfire because they may lose a lot of U.S., Canada, and European customers. If you are not aware, it is part of the Asian culture to aspire to always be first. We encountered many problems that started at the pre-cruise hotel (Grand Hyatt Barcelona). We had to wait in a very long line of people to get into the breakfast restaurant. Apparently, the Asians had taken over the restaurant and never left allowing the tables to be turned over for other guests. When we finally got in, we ended up sitting in the bar area at a low table (not comfortable for eating). Then the Asians did the same thing in all the onboard dining options on the Seven Seas Voyager. They would start lining up for the Main Dining Room at least 45-50 minutes early and then take over all the tables for six or larger and never leave for other large groups to sit together. The Regent Seven Seas restaurant staff thought if they allowed the Asians to enter the Main Dining Room at 6:00pm instead of 6:30pm it might alleviate the problem. It did not! It only caused a bigger problem for the wait staff. Twice when we went to the Main Dining Room to get a table for six, we had to sit at two tables of four put together. We tried several times to get a table at Setti Mari (the Italian restaurant) and could not. Finally, one evening, we got in line very early (second in the line and the only non-Asians). An Asian woman behind us did not like that we were in “their” line. Problems continued when we were on excursions as well. We kept wondering how the Asians were the first on the excursion tour bus, making us sit in the back. We finally determined that once they exchanged their excursion ticket for a bus ticket, they did not wait in the theater until their bus number was called. They immediately exited the ship and waited outside. The only time this did not happen was at our last port, which was a tender port. They were not allowed off the ship until their excursion/bus number was called. Instead of waiting inside the theater as we were instructed to do, they stood outside the theater in everyone’s way. When we returned home from the cruise, I had to submit a request twice for someone from Guest Relations to contact me. I finally received an email with a link to a web form to complete. Their response basically said that they would share my comments with relevant onboard and shoreside teams so that they may review the processes, strengthen crowd-management strategies, and better anticipate situations where large groups or full-capacity sailings may affect the guest experience. We have another Regent Seven Seas cruise booked for this May 2026 on the Seven Seas Grandeur. I checked the Hong Kong travel agent website to see if our cruise was listed and it was not. We are hoping we don’t encounter the same problems on this cruise, or it will be our last on Regent Seven Seas.

MIxed view of this cruise line
MIxed view of this cruise line - disappointing expensive Pacific cruise in January. Office staff in UK unhelpful and not caring, staff USA pleasant and helpful. UK client miss out on booking for special restaurants as release time is for the USA clients. Going on another soon so hope for the best, but this cruise line favours their USA clients first. Restaurant staff were first class.

Unpleasant Experience made worst by Management
The Splendor, one of Regent's newer ships, is a gorgeous vessel. The design and decor was well done. That, coupled with a timely and efficient boarding process provided us with a great initial impression.
We had one of the larger suites that had 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The suite, not unlike the ship, was designed and decorated very well.
However, after being onboard for a short while we noticed an AWFUL ODOR from the commode room in the master bath. It had the spell similar to an "outhouse" or "porta john". I'm sure you get the visual. We contacted the service crew who acknowledged the smell and kindly sent the engineer/maintenance crew to address. So my first question to everyone that didn't receive a good response was, "why wasn't this addressed for the passengers who had the suite right before us". A repair attempt was made where they sealed something in the floor. We gave it a day to air out and see if the smell was eliminated. It wasn't, and we contacted the crew to come back. I spoke with the engineer in charge who indicated that they would do more extensive cleaning of the pipes and system. To make a long story short, by day 4 of a 10 day cruise, they improved the condition but never eliminated the smell and the Executive Concierge offered us a $1,500 credit toward a future cruise. Given that we had paid quite a bit on this cruise and my wife would only use the restroom in the other bedroom, this was quite insulting. They could not eliminate the odor, but continue to book the suite for one guest after another to experience. The General Manager onboard was nice, but not helpful.
When we returned home I contacted Corporate to address the issue. We went all the way to the top, Andrea DeMarco, President. They increased our credit to $2,000. Be mindful that we had a deposit on a 25 day Africa cruise costing significantly more than this cruise.
They are quite proficient in saying that they are sorry for the inconvenience. However, given their lack of action its just idle words.
It was never about the money for us. Any compensatory offer would be a gesture and insignificant at best. It was always about how Regent treats it's customers when service delivery is inadequate. Do you stand behind your product? Is this the treatment that Leadership directs? We were trying to determine if Regent was a company that we would continue to cruise with. We got our answers. I have seen other Regent reviews indicating that management doesn't value its customers.
Although we had a fantastic Butler who exceeded our expectations we will not be cruising again with Regent. This was our first and last. We canceled the cruise we had scheduled, along with a future cruise deposit that we gave onboard. They lost a customer by not showing that they cared. We prefer to spend money with companies who value their customers.
Finally, the food on the ship was just good, not great. The excursions and entertainment were just ok. We have had better on other cruise lines. A casino with a crap table was a pleasant surprise.
Buyer Beware!

Sad to say goodbye
We have travelled with Regent SSC on a number of previous occasions and have always enjoyed every minute. However during our recent trip around New Zealand and Australia we decided to book another package to Japan in 2025. It was then we became aware of the additional benefit that was being offered to our American cousins, namely "FREE BUSINESS CLASS FLIGHTS." When we queried why us British passengers were not offered this benefit we were told well its not really free it is a marketing ploy which would not be allowed in the UK under current UK marketing legislation. So my American friends be aware, be very aware when words like free are used to promote a Regent SSC product. As for us, Regent are a lost cause we have even returned our loyalty pins so they can use them as FREE gifts for their next generation of punters. we in the meantime are looking at alternative companies with whom we can spend our money, and yes, there are several in the market. I would add though that the ships staff we came across were extremely helpful and very friendly. Finally the correspondence with Regent in the UK with their office in Southampton was in my view second rate, they have not even bothered to thank me for returning our loyalty pins.

RS Slendor Caribbean Cruise Feb / March…
RS Slendor Caribbean Cruise Feb / March 2024
The check in at the Hilton Hotel in Barbados was chaotic. This was the hotel booked by Regent.
It took 95 minutes standing in a queue, in hot weather, to check in. The check in process then took about 15 minyes as all information was entered manually on paper.
The rooms were OK but not up to the expected Hilton nor Regent booked hotels standard.
The docking at a lot of ports necessitated a long walk from the ship to the buses. My disabled wife had to cancel several of her booked tours because that distance was too far for her to walk in the heat. On one occasion, we witnessed a man almost collapse on the walk to the bus and when I spoke to him in the terminal, he said he had to sit for a time to recover and would then try and walk back to the bus, forgetting about his booked tour.
I and my wife appreciated the care and attention given to my wife in the Compass Rose restaurant each evening. We had the same table, waitress and sommelier the whole time. Although my diet sheet said mashed potatoes and such like only, as with my cancer I had difficulty in swallowing we quickly came to an agreement on the small amount that I could eat.
My only “gripe” was that it always consisted of mashed potato only, never mashed potato and cheese pie, or mashed potato and corned beef hash.
I shall email Regent before my next cruise in May 2024 to the Rocky Mountain train and the Alaska cruise to mention that additional ingredients mashed in with the potato would be very acceptable. Like wise with my cruise in November from Barcelona to Miami.
On most past Regent cruises our cabin steward has been very helpful. This steward performed his duties well, but there was little dialogue between us. With respect due to him, though, when we asked for something ,it was done.
