The dog sitter who is amazing cancelled my boarding since I needed to take my dog to Animal ER for an emergency. The confirmation cancellation did not go through and after speaking with customer service I was told sorry, it already processed, but Thanks for your business! Hold up ,I've been using Rover for over 3 yrs at least 30 boardings and this is how they try to build customer loyalty? The comments from the customer service person with smiley faces after saying cant help me was the moment that I cancelled the apps and future services unfortunately after years of being a loyal customer.

Avoid avoid avoid as a pet sitter. You risk not getting paid. Very rude customer service. I would recommend using other competitors. Their services fees have also increased. Rover are now making 41% per booking.

Such a big selection of dog sitters. We found a fantastic person to take care of our dog. We've used her for a few hours to several days and our dog loves it there, and is always happy to see our sitter again.

The independent contractor lost my brothers dog on day 1. The provider is refusing to help find the dog. The dogs name is Proton. Check out pawboost and help find Proton!

So rover has a guarantee that they will take care of your animal if anything happens in the care of your sitter. Well something did happen to the my dog in the care of a sitter. She was severely dehydrated, her sodium levels were through the roof because of it. She had a high fever, and they had to manually clean out her nose because it was so impacted. She had a two day hospital day to get her rehydrated. Their way of getting out of it? I cant PROVE the sitter wasn’t giving her water. 6 DAYS IN AND PERFECTLY HEALTHY, but ehhhh you can’t PROVE IT besides sitting at the sitters house who you trust because of rover to make sure she is hydrating your dog. We have photos and messages about how great my dog was doing the first few days. Perfectly healthy and energetic. Rover even made a video of how great she was. A simple google search besides the VET says a dog can go 72 hours without water, BUT it only takes 24 hours for dehydration to set in.ALL WITHIN THE TIME SHE WAS AT THE SITTERS. Also I learned with rover they actually do NOT vet the sitters. This was a last minute find because the original sitter told us she couldn’t sit, but apparently that’s a thing with rover too…..that’s a whole different post. So if your animal goes through something, ROVER will find a way not to back their guarantee. They will find a way of saying you can’t prove it. I will NEVER use rover again, I’ll pay for actual ppl at a vet/lodge to watch my baby from now on. Oh and rover will respond like they care and want to make it right but I have all the emails proving otherwise.

Rover is a very reliable app! I found my sitter there and very happy with them! I would recommend people to use the app!

Overall good support from the app but not enough background checks are conducted in my opinion
