We did our research. We have had ours since February 2026. We only have one cat, she took to it very well. She does still like to stalk it a bit from the top of the stairs as it’s not silent, but the sound is not too loud or irritating. The separate containment for refuse is smart, seems to minimize the odor. Very pleased, daily manual scooping for me became a chore. I just did not want to use my time to take care of it. This seemed to be a great solution, and it has been. Thank you! We highly recommend.

I was a backer of the original S5 Kickstarter, and didn’t think twice about backing the S7. Two cats have used it without hesitation. It works great with the Dr. Elsey litter. And because of the way the bags work, I can go weeks without emptying it and there’s no smell. I see people saying that the S7 has a smaller bin, but that hasn’t been my observation. I’ve never had litter spill. All in all an improvement in every way over the S5, and the S5 worked fine. I passed it along to a young friend, and their bigger, fluffier cat uses it with no issues too.

I had an issue with my Popur x5 not lighting up. I emailed customer service. I had a an email with steps that resolved the issue within hours. Very happy with the customer service.

I own a Maine Coon cattery. I have 4 Popur litter boxes and two litter robots. My cats 100% prefer the Popur as do I. I don’t have the issue with jamming that I have with litter robot and my cats prefer the open top design. Plenty of room for my large cats! I plan to add additional Popur litter boxes in the future! The Popur S7 is our first auto litter box. We have used it for over 4 months and it was worth every penny. We have one cat and only have to replace the bag in the bin about every three weeks. No odor. We did upgrade the sifter to the 8 mm spacing as we found tofu based litter tracks substantially less, but the original 6 mm shifter was too narrow causing litter to the wasted. The 8 mm shifter works perfectly.

John from popur has gone above and beyond to help me resolve my popur S7 issues. I've had the machine since it just launched and from their customer support, I was able to have a pretty much flawless litter box experience. Product does the job well and is constantly improving.

The online support was very helpful! We understand that some kitties may have issues with an automatic litter box, but thankfully ours seems to really enjoy a freshly cleaned litter tray! It's only been a couple weeks, but so far we're loving the device and how it handles our fur-baby! thanks Popur!

I did not purchase from Kickstarter; I purchased after they released their s7 model to the general public. Their #1 is safety. Within two days of using my unit, it began a cleaning cycle while my cat was using it. It does NOT stop when it touches a cat. This has continued to spontaneously happen. Popur was aware and told me it happens with “some units”. There are constant, severe bugs with the machine and the updates are pushed through an app. Each new update- they are almost weekly as each previous update ends up causing customers’ machines to go haywire and in some cases, stop working altogether- seems to be worse than the last. They have been pushing updates weekly for months. As of 4/20/26, an update from a few weeks ago caused motors to fail for peoples’ units. Repeatedly since this product was released, Popur’s solution for various problems involves the customer taking a screwdriver to the litter box, taking it apart, pulling out the motherboard, and messing around with the motherboard itself or with gears around it. If you are paying $800 for a litter box, why should you ever have to do maintenance at this level? The liner has proven to be so bad for some people that Popur have had to redesign the liner- and the second one is also getting bad reviews. This litter box was not properly tested before it was released to the public and it can be a danger to your cat. I highly suggest checking the Popur s7 Facebook group to see real reviews and the real problems faced by customers literally every day. It’s not IF you will have a problem with your unit. It’s WHEN.
