The service went downhill
I can't really justify the 5 stars I previously gave in Dec 2022. Changes to the system seemed to mean I was wading through loads of previous matches all over again. Pages of them, after quite a long period with a few matches (mostly irrelevant) turning up. I had a break from photography for a year, in order to study for a course and in January 2024 my Pro access was removed without any warning or discussion, leaving me with 8000+ unprotected images. Apparently I wasn't able to create enough cases from the hundreds of mismatches and matches in countries that were unsupported and previous cases I had ignored and were being served back to me. At no point did I know of any such threshold. So, I could pay a rather large monthly fee to keep access, but on the other hand, many old cases, some going back years were unresolved. Any time I would ask about them, they would be discontinued within a few months. Even cases sent to solicitors were getting abandoned, after signing loads of forms and uploading documents and answering questions about my earnings. So there's no real incentive to subscribe, unless you just want to spend hours wading through pages to find people and sites using your image buried among hundreds of mismatches. Ultimately, it appears Pixsy would rather sell subscriptions than provide a service. It's true that I benefited from free access after being supportive of their work on social media platforms and to other photographers in the early days. But it is also true that Pixsy have made thousands out of my work, dumped me when it suited them to try and extract a subscription and have gradually morphed into a service that doesn't seem to carry out the legal threats it sends out. So I have now disconnected my images after finding their customer support quite unhelpful and am simply waiting for them to abandon the final remaining cases before closing the account for good. I'm not sure what happened, but the service just doesn't see to be 5 star anymore. I would say that all an infringer really has to do is ignore all letters and Pixsy will eventually just go away.

Hi James, thank you for the detailed feedback and for your support over the years. We're sorry the service hasn't felt the same, and that the change to your account came as a surprise. Every case is reviewed individually, and we look at all the options before deciding on next steps. If you'd like to talk it through, reply to any Pixsy email and we'll go through your account and remaining cases with you.
