Completely ignored by customer service – Breaching EU consumer law
I am deeply disappointed with the non-existent customer service from Pit Boss Europe. My Pit Boss Plancha is broken, and I am trying to resolve a legitimate warranty/repair case.
I have sent multiple emails regarding this matter on May 25th, May 30th, June 10th, and most recently a formal notice on June 25th. I have been met with absolute radiotavshed (complete silence). Not a single reply or status update on how they intend to handle my complaint.
According to EU consumer law (Directive 2019/771), consumers are entitled to a repair or replacement within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. Ignoring a customer for a month is a clear breach of this.
I strongly advise against buying from Pit Boss Europe if you expect any form of after-sales support. I will now be escalating this case directly to the European Consumer Centre (ECC).

Bought my PitBoss bbq 12 months ago
Bought my PitBoss bbq 12 months ago, it was all singing and dancing, dual fuel, gas at one side charcoal at the other, with an electric oven and smoker underneath, it did what it said. Then 12 month down the line, first there was a gas leak from one of the regulators which built up in the chamber above the regulators untill it exploded. So i decided to isolate the gas and just use the charcoal side, after 6 uses the bottoms have fallen out of the charcoal tray, not bad for a £1500+ bbq.

I didn’t expect perfection
I didn’t expect perfection. I expected a smoker that would reliably cook food.
Instead, I’ve spent the last year wondering whether every cook would be the one where it quits working again.
The first error appeared in January. Since then (6months) I’ve replaced the control board twice, the igniter twice, the fan, and the temperature probe. Every repair followed another failure, another error code, or another cook that didn’t go as planned. Customer service has been friendly and quick to send parts, but replacing component after component isn’t a real solution when the same problems keep coming back.
Yesterday was the breaking point. I put ribs on the smoker, set the temperature to 225°F, and let it do its job. Thirty minutes later it had only reached 115°F. When I checked again, it had actually dropped to 105°F. Instead of smoking ribs like I planned, I ended up finishing them in the oven because I couldn’t trust the smoker to cook them safely.
The WiFi and Bluetooth have been just as disappointing. I’ve gone through three different control boards, and every one of them had the same connectivity problems. The app worked a handful of times with the original board, but after that it became essentially useless.
Customer service has always been polite and willing to send replacement parts, and I appreciate that. But after replacing basically all the parts (some multiple times), it feels like they’re asking me to rebuild the smoker one part at a time instead of standing behind the product.
We finally asked for a replacement smoker or a meaningful discount on a new one, and the best they could offer was 15% off.
What makes this so frustrating is that when it works, I really enjoy using it. That’s why I kept giving it another chance. But after months of repairs, wasted time, and never knowing whether it’s actually going to work, I can’t recommend it.
A smoker should let you enjoy cooking, not leave you wondering which part is going to fail next.

Pit Boss Grills are very poor quality
When it comes to Pit Boss Grills, I am genuinely disappointed. I had always used either Traeger or green Mountain grills. I had a Jim Bowie for over five years from Green Mountain grills and it was amazing. Only problem I had with it is one of my dogs knocked it over and chewed up the cord lol. Rewired the cord and it worked fine. And of course, the original Traeger was amazing. Pit boss however, is sorely lacking in quality. I bought a Laredo 1000 from Walmart. They call it a platinum model. There's nothing quality about it. I tried finding a temperature probe on their site, good luck with that. My barbecue is just over three years old and it has problems feeding with a piss poor quality auger and it is not solid whatsoever it just floats, and it doesn't push enough pellets through and the probes and the thermometer failed in less than a year. I literally had to buy and aftermarket thermometer and drill a hole in my barbecue and put it on top. I'm either going with a green Mountain Grill again or a Z grill.

Was good while it lasted
Was good while it lasted. The plate eventually was ruined. They sent me a new one. When replacing it, that's when things got worse. Everything underneath was rusted out. Not made ti last. Lasted 3 years.

Poor customer service if you need warranty
We’ve had our barbecue/smoker combo for about a year and overall we’re very happy with it until it broke. Reached out to the company and they said they would provide us with a replacement part. It has been well over two months. The part has not arrived, I’ve reached out to them several times they keep telling me it is on backorder, yet they keep selling new barbecues. They prioritize new customers over existing and will not give me a date for when to expect the part. So in the meantime, it’s useless collecting dust. Not impressed at all with the customer service.

No problem with smoker
I have a Pit Boss Vertical Smoker V3..I got it new from Menards about 4 years ago. I spoke with customer support after I first got it to help me with assembly and initial start up. All the agents I spoke with were always helpful. Its been 4 years and the smoker has always been working fine. I probably use 4-5 times a year smoking ribs, brisket, salmon and turkey on Thanksgiving. I always clean the fire pot after every smoke by using a leaf blower. And I clean the interior of the smoker once a year.
