Phone2.io Review Update
UPDATE to previous review
Andrew and crew of Phone2. My phone slowly started to receive/send sms and mms. I have tested the messaging today and it actually worked! I have all the time to wait for your company to grow and address spotty services here and there. For $99 of lifetime service, that is a good deal for a secondary number. One thing I am also waiting for is a quick response to consumer feedbacks and complaints. I am hoping with the steady growth of your company, this will be addressed as well--like deleting the call or messaging logs and not just the message.

they are absolutely impossible to deal…
UPDATE TO REPLY: "on standby" my a$$. I've emailed you dozens of times in 5 months with all of the information - heck, I've sent it two or three times. I'm done trying to port the numbers over because you failed to do it in 5 months and I've decided to finally cancel the service that was draining my bank account at $50/mo - a loss of $250 due to your incompetence to port. Not to mention, the numbers you gave me to use don't work - I can't text out. So even your own numbers have problems. And when I do reach out, FROM MY PHONE2 USERNAME, I still have to wait days or weeks for a reply. Currently, I'm waiting 7 days on this response. A chain of emails that is 20 long, of which you've only sent 6... because the rest of them have been followup requests to get a response. It's painful dealing with your customer service. truly.

ORIGINAL POST:
they are absolutely impossible to deal with. their customer service is atrocious (and that's saying it kindly). I was supposed to be able to port over 2 numbers - paid extra for those lines and extra for those porting fees - and it's 5 months later during which time I've still had to continue paying for the other service so the numbers can be taken and they still cannot figure out how to port the numbers in. when i do hear from them they blame it on the fact that it's an "old system" - the company is like 2 weeks old, how can it be an 'old system'?! on top of that, they tried to make it right, so they gave me two extra numbers, which I don't really need, but of course, those numbers don't work either - I can call and receive calls and texts but I can't text out! how is that possible? But honestly, the biggest problem is that they do not respond to emails. it takes weeks at a time to get a response from their customer service and since they don't have a phone number to call you have to wait for emails. it's terrible. I'd give them a ZERO if I could, but what I will say earns them a "1" is their app. Certainly it would be great to pay $99 (or even $129 for the 'upgraded plan') and never have to pay for the number again. And the app itself is handy and works well to be able to have other members of my team access the same numbers. It does need a little work - for example - texts and phone calls are all in one screen, so it makes it a bit confusing - and there are other quirks like that. But it's a pretty clean and neat app. Just wish I was able to use any of the 4 numbers that I have as not 1 of them work... if only they would set them up properly. Maybe one day I'll get to use it. Pathetic.

Evan, we are sorry this is happening. We transitioned underlying carriers a few weeks ago and a few numbers got caught up in the migration (mostly ported numbers). We've tried to be transparent about it but doing emergency ports, issuing temporary numbers and the like. Can you please email us from your Phone2 username (emphasis on PHONE2 username) so that your ticket will be pinned to the top of the list?
We are eager to resolve this for you and it pains us that you're having this experience. We're on standby! :)

STEER CLEAR of this service, if you need a service that your business would depend on
I wish I could give the service a negative number, because if I could, I definitely would. The Customer Service of this company is absolutely atrocious. They advertise a lifetime service for $129 and you can port your number in for additional $35 which I did. The problem is, they never ever fully ported the number in and once they got control of my number (after5 weeks of waiting), I was not able to receive calls. I was basically out of business for over two weeks, and I had to write at least 10 nasty letters to their customer service department until they finally relented and allowed me to port my number out of their service.
if you don’t wish to port your number in, and you’re willing to accept a brand new phone number from their pool of free numbers, then I think the service could be somewhat functional. But for the love of God, don’t ever depend on this service for your business. You will get burned, like I did.
also, once I was finally able to port my number out, I requested a new number from Phone2.io, any number just so that I could try to use the service without being so dependent on it. They have yet to get back to me and it’s been a week. The worst part about this company is not their actual service, but the customer service is beyond dreadful.
at this point, I’ve been forced to accept the fact that they stole my money. Don’t let this happen to you.

Works well - no "leaks" in the system here
I’ve got 8 plumbers spread across the city, and my crew is always on the move. I needed a phone system that wouldn’t "clog up" (pun-intended) the works or cost me an arm and a leg to keep everyone connected. Phone2 fits the bill here.
I can see exactly who’s answering the calls for plumbing jobs, so no more wondering if a guy hasn’t been on-site in weeks. I don’t have to pay for every single guy to be on the system either—just the main line keeps things flowing. The Android app is good enough, durable, and runs smooth on my crew’s tablets. It’s built for the grind and always rings so that's all I care about.
I’m knocking it to 4 stars because porting our number took a week, and we had about ~8 hours where calls didn’t come through. Customer support was on it, though, and I know that’s just part of the process with these systems.
Bottom line: Phone2 gets the job done without any leaks. If you’re a plumber or running a trades business, this is the pipe-wrench of phone systems—durable, reliable, and worth the investment. Recommended!

Exactly what my biz needs ...
Phone2 has been exactly what my mobile notary and real estate team needed. We all receive calls on the same line, so no lead is missed, and I can see who took each call, ensuring follow-ups don’t fall through the cracks.
Porting our four numbers took just two business days, with temporary numbers available immediately. In the last three weeks, I’ve noticed updates rolling out a few times a week, which is super reassuring. It’s calming to see they’re constantly improving the platform—I’m confident I made the right choice. Each time I log in, I find something new, unlike my last provider, which felt like an outdated dinosaur. Phone2 is 5 stars in my book!

No customer service, never ported numbers, no refund
Signed up for 2 lines with their "lifetime" deal. Paid to port in 2 numbers. Nothing. Contacted company several times. Nothing. A month later, disputed the charges. Suddenly Phone2 comes alive and wants to talk. They agree to refund all charges. Between the chargebacks and the refunds, one $35 charge for porting was missed. Phone2 tells my credit card company that I received the service. I dispute it again and Phone2 does the same thing. I ask Phone2 to honor their original deal to refund all charges, and they say they can't afford to do that. One final dispute with the credit card company and Phone2 again tells them they already honored my port-in request, which is impossible since I still have both numbers with another VOIP service and do not have an account at Phone2 any more. Customer service is non-existent; promised updates to their service never get done. This isn't a real company; they're just a scam.
EDIT: They said they would mail me a check, then said they wouldn't, so I re-opened a dispute with my card company. Phone2 responded to the dispute by falsifying a chat conversation with me, adding a statement from me that said I agreed to the charge I was disputing. I provided Visa with the authentic copy of the conversation and had my refund within 20 minutes. The only way to get these guys to communicate with you is to file a dispute with your card company. Then, as you can see, they'll track you down and make sure they communicate all of a sudden.

Hi Craig, we're sorry this happened but unfortunately there is nothing we can do except to mail you a check, which we offered. Because you made a chargeback on all transactions, each transaction ID (the ARN) is already flagged as a chargeback - therefore we cannot also refund it. The refund button is literally disabled on our payment processor.
Please respond to us in DM with your address to where we can issue you a check and we kindly ask that you reconsider your review. Thank you!
@Craig, thanks for the updated review. Again we're sorry this happened and wish you all the luck in the future. If you need to port out your numbers, please email us at [email protected] from your phone2 username (i.e., your phone2 email address). Thank you!

Makes my life easier. All team. All numbers. One app.
I've been using Phone2 since starting my business and its simple, user-friendly interface is perfect for anyone needing an easy business phone solution.
I began with the basic plan and upgraded as my business expanded to access more advanced features. My office staff appreciates Phone2 because it simplifies their work. The automated voice transcription is a standout feature, and the integration with other apps really enhances SMS functionality. Plus, seeing the owner active on X and engaged with users shows she genuinely cares about her clients and business. 5/5 – I’d recommend it to any small business owner needing a reliable business phone.
