my therapist did an amazing job with the consultation. My therapist understood my situation fully, and gave me resources and information to help me be certain I can have my dog in my new apartment. I was put in an incredibly heartbreaking situation where I fell in love with this dog, asked my landlord if I could get the dog, and he refused. I was devastated, and then asked him, what if the dog was an ESA? He was aware of the laws around ESAs, but came off very threatening, telling me "I highly recommend you don't go down this road." Well, I went down that road. After many hours and days of research, I finally landed on Pettable to get an ESA letter because they had licensed mental health professionals that you can connect with via telehealth, and a legal team to give you advice on how to file a complaint with HUD, in case things got messy. I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the 1-star reviews, but decided to pull the trigger after calling Pettable's customer service and asking many questions for security and reassurance. Dr. Laughman from CA was incredibly knowledgable about the laws around ESAs and diagnosing. She also doesn't handout these letters to just anyone. She knew by what I had told her about my mental health history, that I needed this dog. I told her all about my situation and how my landlord was scaring me about getting an ESA. She was confident about her ability to help me and was not intimidated by lawyers. She provided me with a letter that went over her diagnosis, treatment of an ESA, verification of her credentials, and laws and consequences of denying an ESA. I gave the letter to my landlord, and after he had his realty agency AND attorneys look it over, he couldn't refuse! He did tell me that it looked like I got this letter from an online provider, but there's nothing he can do about that! The letter is still legit because Pettable connects you with LMPHs and that's all that matters. THANK YOU PETTABLE! Extra Advice: If your landlord asks you to get pet liability insurance in case someone was to get bit or hurt on your property, State Farm provides very inexpensive renters insurance that covers personal/pet liability!
