The transcription technology is vary accurate. Basic transcription is very accurate - definitely close to 98% or 99%. My specific terminology and names we're maybe 50% accurate to start, but once I added my this terminology and named colleagues it gets those mostly correct and the accuracy continues to improve. The best part of otter though are the AI insights and summaries. These are just incredibly good. I don't think an experienced person could write better summaries.

For some reason about 3/4 through my recent recording Otter stopped recording?

Game changer for podcast production. As a commercial and podcast producer, Otter.ai has completely revolutionized the way I work interview audio. No more playing "concentration" after I record a 40 minute interview, trying to figure out where one of my guests said a certain phrase. Instead of hours of searching and reviewing audio for key moments, I can have Otter transcribe the entire interview, and then highlight what I need, using the time stamp to instantly find it in my audio file. It has allowed me to involve clients to a degree I've never been able to involve them as well, by first sharing an unedited piece of audio and then collaborating with them on the markup of the transcript. I can no longer imagine doing what I do without Otter!!

I'm a journalist who's been using Otter.ai for a couple of years now. I record interviews either on an external recorder or via Zoom and then upload the .mp3 files to Otter. The turnaround is basically immediate and they're very accurate even with heavily accented English across various nonnative-speaker categories. One can also listen along as Otter highlights words in the transcript, which takes care of the rare discrepancies.
