1 star is generous. They raised prices 4 times during my time there. Teachers were zero help; expect to tech yourself. Communication with the university was a full days work. Even still I tried to sign up for their doctorate program because it is the only local option and I couldn't even get someone to call me back that ran the program I was interested in. The university since has sent me several emails, including the request for a review on Trustpilot, so I guess I will just keeping writing the reviews ;)

Dr. Lankster was an inspiring presenter. In a very short amount of time he was able to explain Juneteenth and spark interest in the history behind it. Thank you.

If you are looking to pay far more than double than you would attending a state school in exchange for the ease of 4 week classes and no rigor, NU is for you. If you are interested in actually learning, NU is not for you. The term “non profit” is meaningless and misleading. They may not have shareholders but they’re definitely robbing you blind. I experienced “professors” who got their “PhD” from no-name schools like NU or Phoenix literally tell us to RE-USE an assignment from a previous class. Another “professor” cancelled class because “the waves are too good to miss.” 90% of the time, the “professors” would read off slides NU clearly created and that they added nothing to for the first hour and the other 2-3 hours they would force us to sit in the classroom and give us independent work time. After NU, I went to CSU San Marcos for my MA. I was taught by some of the best professors I’ve ever had (far better than even at UCSD where I completed my undergrad) and paid 1/3 of what I did at NU.

I normally do not leave bad reviews but I have yet to have anyone at this school respond to me and help me with this issue. I feel obligated to warn others about this school. I first learned about this school after attending a PD on SEL. I completed this and learned that National University offered a Master's degree program in SEL. As this program was new they were offering a scholarship for 7,000. As a mom of 5 and an SEL teacher, I couldn't pass this up. My state doesn't currently require a degree to teach SEL but I know that one day it might so I applied for this scholarship. I was so excited when I got it. Soon after I started I started running into issues. My classes were not in order (they had me take the last class in the middle of my program.) It took a while for someone to get back to me about my questions. I shrugged this off and accounted it to the start of a new degree program. I finished my program and then was told because I didn't apply for financial aid (which I was never told was needed.) I had to pay my full amount before I would be given my diploma. I feel as though I was misled because when you call something a scholarship program but do not tell your students everything they need to know. In order for them to be successful and for them to use the degree that they worked so hard to get it. (I have emails to prove all of this.) The worst part is I contacted the school asking to speak with someone and no one contacted me. However, I got constant emails about how if I do not make a payment of almost half of the amount owed that they would be sending me to collections. Once I made this initial payment of 3500 hundred dollars I could then set up payment plans. I once more contacted them explaining I could not make such a large payment with such short notice and I still had unanswered questions about this process. I still was not answered and was continuously harassed. I told the school I would report them to the state board and was then told that my questions would be escalated to a supervisor and they would contact me soon.... it has been months and I have heard nothing. I would advise you not to go to this school. *edit: I reached out to the email the school provided below over a week ago and have yet to receive any communication in return.

I completed my masters in Organizational Leadership in 2020. My experience during the program was great! The professors were very knowledgeable and challenged me to complete quality work. The accelerated program design was the right fit for me while I was working fulltime. The coursework was challenging and offered real world projects.

I was in a screenplay writing class. After being physically assaulted, I asked for permission from the instructor to switch from writing a comedy to a drama. The instructor refused thereby demonstrating his own lack of understanding as to what it takes to write comedy. I am a produced TV writer/WGA member and I failed the class That means that NU failed me.

It is so sad that the tuition is was so expensive to complete my degree. I will be paying for it for the rest of my life
