My watch was beautiful but only worked for a year before it started having problems. I sent it in for repair under warranty which got me another year. My local repair shop tried to fix it but said this is not uncommon for Swiss movement.

Easy to order and you are informed about when to expect shipment. Would have been 5 stars but my first order was cancelled.

Watch did not work when new. Watch date change function (pulling out the crown one notch) is intermittent. I myself prefer a second hand that moves continually, not in steps. The step function requires more time to note if it is working, and adds mechanical complexity, cost, volume, and weight.

I purchased the watch from the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. The time setting stem came out the first time I tried to set it. So off to the authorized repair place in Rhode Island it went. Gone for about 10 days it was repaired and returned. Free except for the shipping charge. It then stopped running about 6 months later. I tried to replace the battery myself but I couldn’t get the back off, so back to Rhode Island it went. It was returned after a couple weeks and basically its been trouble free since. Knock on wood, that’s been about 2 years. I love the looks of the watch with the large face. Its easy to read, with or without my glasses on.

So far this is my second purchase from Mondaine, and my third watch. I just love the iconic design of the pieces. Very clean and simple. Easy to read with my 48 year old eyes.

Makes an excellent Swiss Railroad Watch.

My Montaigne anniversary model is the best watch I’ve ever owned. That included a Rolex President.
