The Basalt is well-thought-out: this bike has brought as-much enjoyment as downhill skiing, as cross-country skiing. Hills it dominates, headwinds it ignores. The battery is Samsung, and has protections against overcharging. It drops-out easily for quick removal. Robust performance at 1,200 miles. The Suspension seatpost accessory works exactly as advertised. My recommendation for this bike.is .. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. My wishlist includes quick-release pedals -- when denying an adversary your bike, for instance, leave him wondering 'What am I supposed to pedal with?'. A battle of Wills, Joined. And I Edit this Review because I forgot the most-important thing, possibly, with using an ebike for recreation: You will find it's the most perfect way to lose weight by being more-active, and snacking less. With 2 or 3 batteries, and using bike at an average of 18mph, you could spend a good 6, 7 hours riding, and not eat the entire time, having so much fun. Low impact, long duration exercise, and enjoying every minute of it!

Free shipping was appreciated. It was well packaged and reasonably easy to assemble (2 hours). I bought the Obsidian model. It looks great and is well made. However, its off-road shocks and big tires give it a tall stance that is challenging for an older rider with a 30-inch inseam. Younger and taller riders should consider it seriously. I do like the electronic controls and hydraulic brakes. I ended up ordering the step through Obsidian to avoid the threat of emasculation at every stop. I will try to sell the bro bike. Shipping it back within the two-week exchange window was a no go since disassembly and repacking was a lot more challenging than assembly. I live in a hilly area, so I appreciate the e-boost and I enjoy the easier peddling exercise needed by an old codger.

Enjoy the bike very much. I ride it around town as a bike and sometimes as a motorcycle, just depends on what I feel like doing.

After much research I based my decision to purchase a Mokwheel Obsidian on all the great reviews. Well, you can add mine to the list. I love my bike and love any opportunity to ride it, both on city streets and on trails. The bike is sure-footed, comfortable, solid, and has the level of pedal assist required for any situation. I purchased two Basalt ST e-bikes in August. My wife and I ride them as much as possible while weather permits. So far, we are very pleased with the construction and performance of the bikes. These e-bikes allow us to ride together and really enjoy the ride where ever we decide to go. The assembly was relatively easy. It has been gratifying to have people ask us about the bikes and give us a thumbs up on these e-bikes. The price on these bikes is well worth the bike you receive. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

The experience has been excellent! Fast shipping, the quality of these bicycles is solid. Very happy that we made this purchase. We had an issue with the controller, but with outstanding communications from support, helped to resolve the problem. We showed them off to our friends and were very impressed with the quality of the bikes, who then made their own Mokwheel purchases a few weeks later.
