Lifetime warranty if they admit replacing the parts
About 4 years ago I took my "new to me" car to Midas to have the AC looked at. Long story short they ended up replacing the entire system twice and never got the AC to work for more than a few minutes at a time. They did tell me all of the parts they replaced had a lifetime warranty. A couple of years ago I had to have the thermostat ($10) replaced and the AC started working great. Today it started blowing hot air so I called the exact same Midas I went to 4 years ago to find out when I could get an estimate on labor for replacing whichever life time warrantied part needed replacing. They assured me the parts were indeed warrantied for life and then told me they had NO RECORD of replacing anything except the compressor. Since Midas is one of the most expensive places you can go I say save your money and find a place that A knows to check a $10 part instead of just the $1000 parts and B honors their promises and doesn't conveniently "lose" the records.
