They gave my vehicle the Midas Touch, alright. I bring in a driveable vehicle and pick up an undriveable vehicle. No admission on their part they did anything wrong. Highly unprofessional. I wouldn’t let them plug a hole in my tire. There are other competent mechanics that are honest and trustworthy. I also find it ironic that the owners response to some of the other reviewers was to “Ultimately keep our customers safe”. However they had no issue letting me leave in a completely unsafe vehicle. Avoid at all costs’....pun intended.

Midas in Crestwood Malicious Mechanics
Midas in Crestwood, Illinois, have vindictive, malicious mechanics that caused serious damages to my car during an oil change & tire rotation service back in February of this year. When I refused to buy a TPS for $139, which I do not need, the Mechanic Troy did something that damaged my car's engine and/ or connected part(s). My car has been undriveable for 3 months sinces that visit. That local tv ad for oil change & tire rotation for $19.99, has cost me the loss of use if my car, towing fees of $600, diagnostic fees, loss of income with Ride Share companies. They refuse to stand by their work and the intentional damages they caused related to the oil change. Do Not go there! BUYERS BEWARE!

May 8th
May 8th, 2018 will be the first anniversary since Midas/SpeeDee of Scottsdale, AZ and owner Gregory Scott Milan damaged the transmission of my 2000 Lincoln LS. The past year has brought stress and aggravation, a little shock and awe, and even some humor, albeit dark. We can fast forward past the adding of trans fluid to the engine, the unbelievable mess dumping fluids everywhere, or even the accusations from the owner that I robbed his store as some sort of retaliation for bad service. Instead, let us focus on the fact that they improperly flushed and refilled the transmission, only adding 3.5 of the 9.5 required quarts, resulting in a $2000 rebuild. This may have been avoided had Midas and Gregory Milan taken better steps to ensure a proper execution of services, at greater than subpar levels. After suffering drivability issues the next day, I attempted to reach the owner who refused any assistance or to even look at the car. The owner did offer to reimburse the cost of service, which I sincerely believe was an attempt to relieve his facility from any further liability. I then had the vehicle towed to a transmission repair facility and was informed that the improper service and its operation had caused permanent damage requiring a rebuild. I continued to reach out to Midas and Gregory Milan but following the refund he assumed no responsibility and would no longer respond to calls or emails. I was left with no other choice but to file a lawsuit in small claims court, of which I won, despite the fact Gregory Milan perjured himself under oath. He claimed during court proceedings that he possessed ASE Certifications, of which the ASE organization in response to my inquiry stated, “…they have no records for Gregory Scott Milan nor does he possess any ASE Certifications.” I attempted to reopen the court case but was denied. Unfortunately, Michael K Jeanes (Clerk of Courts), finds this egregious infraction unworthy of enforcement. I also reached out to Midas Corporate, but they refused to intervene, citing that Gregory Milan is the owner and Midas Corporate has, “…nothing to do with them.” Except of course, for the name and monthly franchise fees/royalties. To that end, I would encourage any individual looking to do business with Gregory Scott Milan, Midas, SpeeDee, or Big O Tires, to take note and find other more suitable facilities to do business with. These businesses, and owners like Gregory Milan, are a blight on the small business community and the consumers who utilize their facilities are the ones who ultimately suffer. Avoiding these people and their businesses, might save you from months of grief, aggravation, and unnecessary financial expense. *NOTE: As of 4/8/18, Greg Milan has paid some but not all his owed balance. ZERO STARS!

AVOID AT ALL COST
AVOID AT ALL COST. If one star could be given it would. Repaired minivan, put in lesser aftermarket parts without asking or telling that non-original parts would be used. When part failed, wouldn't agree to either of the two reasonable restitutions offered and s basically told to get out of the shop. This same shop didn't repair a bolt in a tire that was brought in, and paid for to get repaired. When confronted, shop claimed it was a DIFFERENT bolt in the same tire that just happened to be in the same region and be the same size. This is also the same shop that told us we had a cracked oil pan, that never turned up again as an issue at this shop (despite never being fixed), never leaked oil and has not been found by two other shops.

This location is a JOKE. First experience with a appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. The entire process took 3 hours, I could see the technicians basically smoking cigarettes and looking at other vehicles. I drive a company vehicle and everything is pre-approved....BUT 3 hours is ridiculous ! Not going back.

The shop manager was not honest when making a repair suggestion. I took my car in for inspections and he said that it needed a new flex-pipe. After replacing the flex-pipe, it vibrated very noisy. The new flexpipe looks way smaller than the old one. I asked him to weld on a bigger pipe and he did it reluctantly. The new one still vibrated loudly. He then said that I have to replace the whole front pipe assembly which includes the catalytic converter. The cost would be $700. He charged $170 for the crappy flexpipe that cost less than $20. Had he told me that I need to replace the whole front pipe assembly, I'd do it myself. This manager is not honest to his customer. I will not bring my car to this location ever again. I'll also let everyone know about this shop so that they will stay far away from it.

Don't waste your time!
I called this firm at 2pm one afternoon to determine the wait time for a repair estimate and was told that there was a backlog of two hours and that it would be best to bring it in at 8am (opening time). The next morning I made a trip over to Midas and when they opened Rolland informed me that there was a 3 hour wait but that I could make an appointment for that afternoon, which I did. I brought the vehicle back again at the appointed time and was told by Roland this time that there was a 1 1/2 hour wait to have the car looked at. When I reminded him of my appointment he just shrugged and pointed to the bays that were in in use.
DO NOT waste your time with these people - They do NOT make appointments nor do they value their customers or their time!!!
