Midas got our gold
Never EVER will we recommend Midas. (Madison/ Nashville, TN) We had it towed to them on Monday. Scott at Midas said we needed a new battery before they could test it. We told him the battery was good and didn’t need it. Scott claimed it wouldn’t take a charge and a new one was a necessary. “I’ll take care of you, Boss”. He did to the tune of $218! He then said he would call on Tuesday but didn’t so my husband called them around 6 pm. He got in touch with Ken because Scott wasn’t working that day. Ken told us that it was the EVAP canister which was so full of gas fumes that nothing could get past it. He said it could be fixed but the part would take a week to receive and their cost would be $600. Wednesday, Scott told us that the wire to the canister appeared to be cut on purpose but that it isn’t why the car wouldn’t run. He would have his guy do a pinpoint and find the problem. His mechanic unhooked the fuel line and wires to the dashboard (per Crest Honda). Friday around 10 am, Scott called and said they found nothing. It was an electrical problem and they couldn’t fix it. We had it towed once more and took it to Crest Honda. After it was examined by their technician, it was discovered that a beetle was plugging the mass air flow sensor. NO REPAIR NEEDED! It took a half hour to diagnose and remove the bug while it took an hour to fix everything that Midas unhooked. If Midas had finished their job with everything reconnected, our bill with Crest would have been $83 instead of $250.
