I had to move recently and change psychiatric providers. I was very satisfied with the provider I spoke. He helped me transition my care and I greatly appreciated his efforts.

Made my mental health worse. The “Therapist” was incompetent, caused psychological damage, blurred boundaries Was judging me and overall an absolutely horrible experience. The billing was terrible, overpriced and would not recommend ever going there. Not one positive thing came out of it. There’s so many more details I can include but won’t. Let’s just so Therapist was completely unethical in every single way.

Great booking technology and variety of therapists. Somewhat redundant in entering information multiple times and my first therapist did not understand narcissistic abuse while I saw her over a year there was no progress and I was spiraling. I did my own research and went to NAMI support groups thankfully and current therapist is amazing. More therapists that understand this condition please. Make it easier to switch and try out therapists, as the right therapist is key to healing and progressing.

Horrible experience at LifeStance Burlingame, CA location. Wasn't greeted upon arrival (despite TWO persons sitting at front desk). Provider didn't show up on time so I asked one of the front-desk clerks and he said, "I'll message him again". No kindness, no apology. Finally, 6-10 min after my scheduled appt, the provider shows up looking like he ran a 5K and didn't even apologize. I felt he was distracted the entire session and he also had the balls to tell me "well, we're coming up on time..." at the 40-minute mark. Wow, no offering to stay a few minutes longer due to his tardiness. Oh and if you want to cancel, reschedule... you have to call. You can't leave messages and you can wait 20+ minutes to cancel. WHAT? This isn't 2000. Truly, worst healthcare experience of my life.

Dr. Tovar is an exemplary psychiatrist whose care has been invaluable to me during the past three decades, as I coped with Chronic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Through a tailored therapeutic approach, Dr. Tovar creates a safe and nonjudgmental environment that fosters healing, trust, and personal growth. He is an active listener and excellent communicator. I would trust him with my life.
