You will be ran through the ringer a few times.
I will start with that happened recently and continue to the beginning. The day before closing on a Thursday and we were all set to close according to them, and we had the movers ready to come move us Saturday and everything. When we get an email stating that the only way the loan would be approved I'd if they go ahead and pay off one of our cars and then we owe them another 8k at closing, mind you we have already put in $30.5k at this point. The problem with this, we were not given the option to say yes or not to this, the next thing we knew it was already drawn up and done. As if they had already counted up up what'd in our pockets. But what they really did was create additional debt for us because now we have to pay back those that gave us the check for $8k. How can they just make a decision like this for us. We are both veterans. The first house they showed us we found it that there was a flood in the master bedroom and Wallas and everything had to be torn out and that was not disclosed to us by anyone at Lennar but some locals that stopped by one day as were getting a fence estimate. We called sales and asked did he know about it he said no and asked who told us and told him he's not at liberty to say but the wrong people had to tell us this. His attitude changed when he asked what did we wanna do? Then he called because he acted like he didn't know anything was wrong with it and called right back saying yes there was a leak due to the plumbing not hooked up right in the master bedroom room. They then proceeded to give us a builders report saying it was alright structurally. This was also the same week of closing on e again. We cancelled because of the lack of disclosure and got the Vice President of the area Chris Porges involved. He had them to show us a new home and have everything switched over. This one has a pond view. I really believe they got back the original price for the home buy what they did in paying that car off and having us owe an additional 8k. Not to mention all of the harassment I went through with them shining a light similar to a colonoscopy on my bank accounts. Sending the same information back and forth. My name is not even on the loan and the first told us that we only had to prove that my husband's name wasn't on the account which was after pay and that the balance was zero in which we did but that was a lie because they had their thumb up my bank account about after pay so deep I felt it in my throat. We even had to go down there and have them log into my account looking for payments, once again his name was shown not be anywhere in the account. I truly felt violated. Tired of sending the same information at one point they even sent me a nasty gram saying I was uncooperative and it would be my fault if the loan doesn't get approved. Another thing too, as a retired veteran my husband applied for the VA loan but for some reason that did not get approved as and they put on the FHA loan. It is just a lot of shadiness going on. I'll also so say this on that extra 8k really created extra debt because now we have to pay that back to who we got it from but we are so concerned about debt to income ratio. How is that? You saved us debt but you also created some too. I would never do business with them again in life. You don't help some erase debt by creating debt and then to not even ask or give us the option because in the beginning we told them we were willing to pay it down to a price that worked for us and would should have gotten money back at closing to get a fence and screen the porch because we have small dogs. So now as it seems we will have to create more debt to get these extra projects done. This has been one thing after another. A nightmare no less. I hate to use the race card but I believe that's a factor too because we have been given such a hard time and have been at this since April or May. There has always been a surprised and we have been handled with less than respect as veterans. It takes the excitement out of closing or even going into this because of the way we have been handled. Fortunately, we do go church and they were willing to get us the money so we could try to keep this closing date on time but will need to pay the money back, but as for me if there was anyway that I could get out of this in would not even close but get my money back out of this and ho somewhere else. To help someone means it's not going to hurt them on the back end. Some they certainly don't understand. I believe there are a lot of unethical practices and privacy laws they are not complying with bit certainly disclosure laws as they didn't tell us about the leak that was in the house. They don't have a right to make a monetary decision for anyone not knowing what situation that puts them after that. Horrible experience.
