Returns and exchanges are not free, customer service sucks
I work 12 hour shifts on my feet and these shoes were recommended by a coworker. The first box I received was empty. Really terrible box design, the box is not secure. It just unfolds. Luckily I paid for protection so they sent another. They were too narrow. I exchanged for another model that was not quite the same price, I paid $6 for the exchange. Those were huge. When I tried to exchange again, back to a wide version of the original pair, they wanted to charge $19! It says all over the website that returns and exchanges are free. And no, I didn't request a label. I wrote to customer service 3 times and never got a reply. While I waited for kuru to respond to my email, I purchased my tried and true Brooks which arrived and I'm already wearing them at work, still never heard from kuru. Finally I called customer service and was informed you can only exchange twice for free which technically I haven't done. Very frustrating customer service overall and not worth the headache to try something new.

I am so sorry for this confusion! We do have a free return option when you choose the QR code. Even when you choose a label, it's only 6.00. You should not have been charged 19.00. I did use your email address to find your original order and your exchange order. I am not seeing anything on your accounts that indicates that you paid 19.00 for shipping, and you have received the refund for the most recent exchange of .67 was issued on 5/31, which was the difference paid.
The only refund withheld for that was the 6.00 for the shipping protection which is non refundable as it is a service.

Comfortable shoes, HORRIBLE customer service
Honestly the Most Comfortable shoes I've ever put on my feet! However, after roughly a dozen wears the sole started coming apart. I'm not a runner and have only worn them to play pool, run errands, etc. I don't wear them for work and there are no obvious signs of wear on the soles. I noticed the damage after the 45 day return period so I used the warranty link in their email. The reply sent said I would hear from someone within 3 days. That was 2 WEEKS ago! These are the most expensive tennis shoes I've ever purchased and started falling apart the fastest!! Could be that 4:55pm Friday dud pair... I get it. But with no communication.... guess I'll try Hoka next!

Thank you for contacting KURU. I'm so sorry for the delay in our response. We have been experiencing unusually high email volumes and we are doing our best to answer in a timely manner. We appreciate your patience during our busiest season.
I did find your email, and I have responded to it. However, we approved your warranty back nearly 2 weeks ago, and you have KURU Cash in your account to use to place a replacement order. If you prefer for us to place the replacement order for you, please send an email to us at [email protected] and I will personally make sure the order is placed and you receive your replacement.

I'll see
I bought a pair of shoes and they were quickly delivered but they are too long for me. It's written on their website that it's easy to return or exchange with the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number so that convince me to buy it here. But ever since I received the shoes I tried to contact them (mail and directly on the website with the return policy) to get that number and it was difficult to reach them (about 9 days). I finally had a contact today by message and they look helpfull. I hope the exchange will be easy to do. The quality seems great, I'll see.

I am so sorry that the shoes weren't quite right on the first try, and that you had trouble being able to process the exchange yourself. I do appreciate you giving them a shot and reaching out to us with your feedback.
I hope that your new exchange shoes are perfect for you. If you have any further issues, please send an email to us at [email protected] and I can help you personally.

They couldn't care less about customer service, but their shoes are amazing!
6.14.24 update- I finally got my shoes and... they were worth the wait. Customer service finally touched base with me, and made efforts to get me my order ASAP. I was skeptical because the delivery updates were the same as before however this time the shoes DID arrive at the specified time. I have to say that I LOVED the shoes out of the box. The fit is amazing and the comfort level sublime. I have bunions so I ordered the wide. These don't look wide but they feel roomy, yet supportive. We all have bad days, so whatever mistake they made I'd in the past. I have my shoes now and their my new favorite pair. I'm talking serious comfort and support. If I'm going to complain it's only fair to praise if it's earned. Unless their quality goes down, they have earned a customer for life.
They sent me an alert saying my order would arrive on 5.16. It's now 5.22 and I haven't heard a peep from them regardless of the multiple emails I sent asking for the status as their website still says my shoes will arrive on 5.16. I tracked the package and it's been to Canada, Seattle, Georgia, Seattle, then back to Canada. Now it's back in Seattle when all it needed to do was go to Portland. I'm not sure who to blame but it would be nice to get an actual response to my inquiries. Instead I feel like I'm being taunted. I've wish they said they'd get here in July because then I wouldn't get my hopes up. Instead they're just yanking my chain and leaving me hanging. I hear they're comfortable shoes but I sure as hell wouldn't know.
And Kuru, please do not reply with apology on here. Too little too late.
5.26 update: I got an update saying the shoes would arrive Friday, 5
24 by 7pm. Even UPS's website said they'd arrive by then. Guess what? They didn't and it's back to square one. UPS took down the estimated delivery date and Kurus website still says it will be here last Friday by 7pm. I haven't canceled my order but instead bought some AMAZING HOKA's! They were shipped within an hour of my purchase and they leveled with me and said they might not be here until the following Monday, although I'm certain they will arrive prior to the Kurus. Does kuru even actually sell shoes or is it just a scam to get our credit info? I'm expecting them to say "we apologize but that model has been discontinued. We will issue you a refund at the end of May....2025". Sorry for being so cynical but I can't fathom how the shoes have been sent everywhere but here. They're currently in Seattle but I bet they'll go to Canada first and then back to Seattle at least a few more times. If they know there was a labeling problem then recall that shipment and fulfill our orders correctly, instead making their problem ours. That's what a customer centric company would do.
Until then, try HOKA'S. They're comparable in price and 5 stars for comfort and performance and customer service, although I've never had to use them. They have their 💩 together! HOKA'S FOR LIFE!!!

I am so sorry to hear that you have had this trouble. I'm so sorry for the delay in our response. We have been experiencing unusually high email volumes and we are doing our best to answer in a timely manner. We appreciate your patience during our busiest season.
Our warehouse is in Canada and it appears that there was improper paperwork done on the customs, so your order is being held. I have contacted the warehouse and there should be movement very soon. Please keep in mind that it is Friday, and we are closed through the weekend and for Memorial day on Monday, when mail will not move. You are welcome to reply directly to my email I sent to you, and I will answer as soon as I am available on Tuesday.
Thank you again for giving our shoes a shot. I will continue to follow this until you have them.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO…
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STAR, I WOULD.
I just had a phone conversation with the representative named Gloria with Kuru Footwear. I explained to her that I sent a complaint email to Kuru Customer Service 2 days ago, 5/8, about the late shipment of my exchange pairs since I received no reply from Kuru about my complaint. I asked her if the company cares about the customer feedback. She replied that they do and yet she could not do anything about that due to the company is short staff. After I explained to her what happened to my exchange order, she just said that there is nothing they can do. I thought she said the company cared about their customers and yet they acted in an opposite direction. They do not reply to emails nor offer any sort of compensation. All Gloria's reply is we heard your complaint and there is nothing we can do. Below is my email to the company.
Dear Kuru,
I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction and unpleasant purchase and exchange experience on my recent orders.
Based on the great experience I had on my first purchase, and the comfort of wearing a pair of Kuru sneakers, I once again placed my order #1929204 on 4/21/24 for a size 7 ATOM. Sadly, I had a total different experience with Kuru this time.
After I submitted my order, I realized that I ordered a wrong size. I then sent an email the same day and a text on 4/22 to your team to request an exchange for a size 7 1/2. Apparently, there is no one monitoring the email nor the text since I did not receive a reply from your team. Hence the size 7 ATOM was shipped. I didn't receive a text message reply from your Customer Service Representative, Chad, till 4/23. He informed me that my order #1929204 had already shipped and I'll have to wait till this order arrived and then exchanged for another size. The order #1929204 arrived on 4/27 late evening. I returned it the next morning, 4/28, at a Happy Returns location indicated on your website. I then ordered a size 7.5 ATOM Trail, order #1936494, on the same day. Unfortunately, my new order was not shipped the moment I returned my size 7 ATOM. On 5/2, I called your Customer Service to check on the shipment update. Interestingly, my new order did not get shipped until after I called. It was then shipped on the next day, 5/3. The Customer Service Representative neither offered an expedited shipping nor provided any reasons for the delay in shipment.
I'm highly disappointed and annoyed with such a lousy and irresponsible customer and shipping service from your company. I'd have never thought that a company that charges a high premium price on a pair of sneakers provides this type of awful customer service. I do not feel comfortable to share your products with my friends and families due to the experience I recently had. I am hoping you will use this feedback to improve your services to the customers.
Response from KURU FootwearMay 13, 2024
Thank you for contacting KURU! I am so sorry that there was a delay in the shipment of your exchange order. I definitely understand that this is very frustrating and I can tell that it has been an inconvenience for you. I appreciate you giving our shoes a shot and reaching out to us with your feedback.
I did review the call you had with Gloria.
Our exchange system is an automated process. Everything is electronically connected, so the way it is supposed to work is that as soon as your QR code is scanned, the exchange order is automatically approved for shipment. Since this is an automated system, we do not manually check those orders. Unfortunately, at some point a technical glitch happened, and the exchange orders stopped being approved automatically. We did not realize this until customers started inquiring about their orders. While we realize this is not ideal, sometimes problems like this do arise, and we are working hard to resolve the problem.
The reason you were not offered expedited shipping is because the day you talked to Gloria is the day the tracking shows delivery. Once an order is shipped, we cannot upgrade the shipping. We simply could not make the package arrive sooner than that same day, which is when it was delivered.
I will certainly forward your feedback to our team. For the inconvenience, I've added an extra 10.00 worth of KURU Cash to your account for you to use as a discount on a new pair of shoes.
We do appreciate you as a customer and we hope that your new shoes are perfect. Thank you again for giving our shoes a shot.

Worst customer support
I recently ordered my third pair of shoes using the Google Pay option on my mobile. Unfortunately, the system automatically filled in my previous address, and I was unable to modify it during checkout. I attempted to contact customer support immediately by phone and followed up with multiple emails requesting an address change, but to no avail. It took two weeks for customer support to respond, only to inform me that they could not send a replacement order to the correct address. I am extremely disappointed with this experience, as it seems there's a significant gap in addressing customer issues promptly.I have been a loyal customer and was looking forward to continuing my patronage, but this incident has left me reconsidering due to the apparent lack of customer care. I hope this feedback prompts a review and improvement in your customer service approach.
Best regards

I bought a pair of Quest boots from…
I bought a pair of Quest boots from Kuru about two years ago. The stitching on the uppers failed about the third time I wore them. The company sent me new pair under the warranty and told me to keep the first pair. I repaired the stitching myself an saved the second pair for later use. Eventually after about 6 months the stitching in the first pair failed completely although there was no discernible wear to the soles. I started wearing the second pair and within about 6 months or so the stitching started to fail again eventually completely. These boots were not inexpensive but they are of extremely poor quality. Camilla at Kuru could do nothing to make this right.
I have a pair of American made hiking boots that I have had for twenty years . The soles are badly worn but not a single stitch has failed. These, unfortunately are of cheap Chinese construction.
Response from KURU FootwearApr 29, 2024
Thank you for contacting KURU. I am so sorry that the stitching has come apart on two pairs of your shoes. I understand that is so frustrating. I appreciate you giving our shoes a shot and reaching out to us with your feedback!
While we do have a warranty policy which covers manufacturer defects in shoes (such as the stitching coming undone) for 6 months, I see that your orders were placed in March of 2022, which was over 2 years ago, and October 2021, which was 2.5 years ago. Your shoes are well outside of our warranty timeframe and they do not qualify for the warranty policy. You can see our full warranty policy here: https://www.kurufootwear.com/pages/customer-service-warranty
Experts do recommend replacing shoes of any style or brand after 300-500 miles worth of wear. For the average person wearing shoes on a regular basis, this is an average of 1 year timeframe. For people who wear their shoes every day and walk many miles per day, or wear your shoes in difficult, uneven, or rough terrain, the shoes may wear more quickly. As you've had your shoes for over 2 years each, it sounds like you've gotten a really great run from them, and it may just be time for a new pair.
I do have some ideas to help reach a resolution for you. I have sent a direct email to you from the email address [email protected]. Please check it out so we can get this resolved.

They sell low quality trash that they…
They sell low quality trash that they won't stand behind and conveniently entirely rip apart after their "warranty". Avoid like the plague
