I used to be a proponent for shopping at Kohl's, but Kohl’s changed their return and exchanges policy at the end of 2014. I was turned away when trying to exchange a pair of pants with a defective zipper, because they didn’t have the exact same style of pants in stock anymore. Because this item was part of a larger $300+ purchase for which we received Kohl's cash, the most they would compensate me in trying to obtain a replacement pair of slacks was $13, including store credit! (with a receipt; for a $60 pair of pants purchased on sale for $40?) Their customer service staff and store management stubbornly told me that corporate leadership no longer allows them to allow exchanges for merchandise of similar style, size and price, because they were losing too much money by allowing people to exchange merchandise (especially if it was defective). Buyer beware!

Had No Problems
I ordered an agile babysafe travel pak & some other minor things. Kohls had a good price on the travel pak, plus they were running discounts at the time in addition. Everything went smoothly. I got my order promptly and everything arrived in good shape.

Kohls.com "HORRID"
I was for years a kohls.com shopper until the first time they messed with me. I did let the first time pass as I contacted CS and we resolved the issue. Then the second issue was the icing one the cake, the third issue just burned up the Cake. I am totally done with kohls.com & have spread the word to all to never shop the store nor the website ever again. No one I know will EVER order or shop kohls again. They scammed me out of my kohls cash and if that weren't enough the rebate of a prepaid visa card was to be issued in Oct. 2014 which I filled out all the appropriate paperwork and was Valid. I checked later & the rebate # I was sent had disappeared , I called. It was like nobody knows what's going on. I do. I check again & there is a new rebate # that states I did a paperless rebate in Feb. 2015, NOT ! I mailed it in Oct. 2014 and all was VALID. I had even spoke to a rep that said the rebate was processed & in the mail, he lied. Its been lie after lie and I have got no where, It is now march 2015 and I have already contacted the proper agencies about the incident and it is being investigated at this time. I am not the first person this has happened to, but hopefully the last. If you can believe this , they tried to blame the rebate problem on "Keurig" ?like what ? I contacted keurig and they were like what , we don't honor rebates that Kohls gives. Kuerig.com by the way is awesome. I paid more for the item than I should have, but was expecting to gain it back by getting the kohls cash & $10.00 rebate plus there was free shipping at that time also. I could have bought the same item for same price at regular price at another store , but weighed in the extra perks from kohls.com. I wish now I had bought the item else where. The first thing they wanted was for me to return the item to the store, NOT so easy. There is NO Kohls store near me , nearest kohls is in VT which consists of a ferry trip across the lake , then travel and I don't travel well. I shop online only. Kohls & kohls.com has lost a long time customer and many customers by messing with ME ! All over a few measly dollars when they are a mega million dollar company. I tried one last time to contact them & the wait time was outrageous, I hung up. I sent an email & was told to call , what a joke except this isn't so funny.

Great Prices and Selection, Poor Order Fulfillment
I love the quality and selection available at kohl's. Even more, I appreciate all of the money-saving promotions, deep discounts, customer appreciation deals, coupons and online shopping codes. The problem is that I never seem to receive all of the items I order, this is particularly frustrating when ordering around the holidays for for birthday gifts. I've had items suddenly back ordered, cancelled altogether, and that was marked shipped but never received which meant the hassle of submitting a complaint and processing a refund for a product I was really excited about. I do like the brick and mortar store, though the clothes are always such a mess. Buy at your own risk.

Rude employees
I shop here often. Went shopping the day after christmas thinking things would have calmed down a little bit. Nope, the line was still going around the store, which is fine. I understand, everyone likes shopping at Kohl's. Well I have two items, so I went to the jewelry counter where they have a cash register and she just checked someone out and all I did was ask if it was possible if she could check me out. She was VERY rude about it and said "If you're not purchasing any jewelry items, then no I'm not checking you out." I was very surprised by this considering this is the bottleneck of the store, instead of just standing there and looking at these jewelry cases, why not check a few customers out? I'm sorry, but I find that rule a little silly, just think of all the money your missing out on because of customers coming in and seeing that line and turning around and walking out. Well Kohl's missed out on at least a $75 purchase from me and it's going to take a little while for me to get over that rude employee you had behind the jewelry counter on Dec 26th around 1pm-2pm.

Kohl's Inflates Prices Above All Other Retailers Before Their Discounts & Sales
Kohl's censored this honest review I wrote for the *wonderful* Dyson DC39 Animal Canister Vacuum I purchased. I cannot emphasize enough that I would *NOT* have purchased at Kohl's if I did not have two gift cards which I needed to use.
--------------------------
My Comments to Kohl's Survey (actual censored/rejected review below):
-------
Kohl's inflates prices prior to offering their 'great' discounts. 30% off of an inflated price is NOT a bargain. I would recommend Kohl's for kids clothing, adult socks and underwear, and the like, but not for name-brand electronics. Also - Kohl's "Price Matching" is a joke. They insist that price of the brick & mortar competitor be advertised in that competitor's current weekly flyer. This is unreasonable. If the competitor retailer has a current on-floor regular price (not even be on sale) which is lower, then that price should be matched. Why match only on the few items advertised in a given week. AND...Why promote killing more trees to make folks have to get a paper flyer? Most people refer to internet ads now, even for brick & mortar businesses. Finally, when Kohl's Customer Service agreed to match Target's price, they then negated my 30%-off "special offer"! They actually tried to get me to place the order before informing me that they were doing so. When I pushed back, they admitted that they would NOT accept my 30%-off coupon. This is deceptive. I am quite unsatisfied with Kohl's marketing strategy and with Customer Service tactics.

My (censored/rejected) Review:
--------
This vacuum is AMAZING. Best, most powerful, easiest to navigate that I have ever owned. I purchased the Animal canister model. It is lightweight and compact, and I no longer dread carrying a vacuum up the stairs. (I am a small 5'2" woman.) This canister follows me effortlessly, without banging into furniture.
The Animal Canister is compact in spite of all that power, and it fits on my broom closet floor much better than my previous canister vacuum.
The attachments perform fabulously. The floor tools reach under every piece of furniture and navigate around chair legs. The flexible crevice tool (a la carte item) is my hero with my HVAC floor vents. It bends through the vent to clean fairly deep into each vent. I had read negative reviews for the floor attachments, but I am convinced that they are trying to vacuum up rocks and other ridiculously large objects from their floors, rather than bending over to pick up the big stuff instead of depending on a vacuum to have thumbs and do it for them.
Emptying is no big deal! One click releases the cylinder. Pop out the filter, and just one more click opens the cylinder. I empty it into a garage waste basket. Click-click, and the cylinder is effortlessly back in place, ready to go again. The cylinder is small, but I would empty any vacuum after every use - Don't want that crud from my rugs and floors keeping residence in my broom closet anyway. This is so much better than using those clumsy, flimsy bags which tear all too often.
I love that the two basic small tools - upholstery/stair tool and crevice tool w/sliding brush - ATTACH to the extension tube so that they are handy any time I need them. Oh, and the retractable cord really retracts, unlike lots of other vacuums.
I keep the attachments in a basket and hang the tube and rug beater on the wall, but it would be great if Dyson had a tool caddy which fit and organized all of these great tools.
Now for the negative: Kohl's significantly inflates their prices on these Dyson vacuums. All other retailers where I comparison shopped had lower prices, including Dyson-online themselves! At the time of my purchase, Dyson charged $499. Target, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart also charged $499 (regular) and were offering $449 sale prices. Kohl's charged $559. Other internet retailers charged even less than $449, but to be fair, I will mention only brick and mortar retailers similar to Kohl's - Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart.
So then Kohl's has "sales". Big deal - How is it a good deal for the consumer when you apply the sales and %-off discounts to inflated prices. The absolute ONLY reason I purchased from Kohl's was that I had received two $100 Kohl's gift cards a few weeks prior. I also had a 30% coupon - but again - it's a joke when the original price is inflated. 30% off of an inflated price is NOT a bargain.
Finally, when Kohl's Customer Service agreed to match Target's price, they then negated my 30%-off "special offer"! They actually tried to get me to place the order before informing me that they were doing so! When I pushed back, they admitted that they would NOT accept my 30%-off coupon.
Kohl's is great for purchasing socks and underwear. But for name-brand electronics, I have noticed this price inflation trend on several items.
This account is 100% true and accurate. Let's see if Kohl's will censor my honest account of this experience. (UPDATE: They did!)
So...BUY THE DYSON ANIMAL CANISTER VACUUM!...But buy it somewhere else where the price is not inflated.
