salesperson could care less about husband picking out my ring
My husband went in and asked the sales lady for a "proper engagement ring". He told her we have been married 3 years and I wear a band but he wanted to buy me an engagement ring.she showed him an 8000.00 loose diamond in a plastic envelope. He said no he wanted a ring and not an 8000.00 single stone and she took him over to the fashion rings and promise rings in 500.00 range. He had several thousand dollars to spend but she NEVER showed him a single solitaire ring or asked what my band looked like or what I liked. He was so confused that he left with a promise ring that could not be worn next to any ring and was definitely not an engagement ring. She never helped him or educated him. What a letdown!!!! Get a clue jared !!! Your selling memories for special occasions to real people for those they love !!!!! We took it back and my husband said this isn't an engagement ring and the salesperson said "oh. You want something else?" Absolutely no concern that my husband felt taken advantage of and ruined our special moment on Christmas day. You lost a big sale with your sloppy uneducated careless salesperson.

Wrong Gaelic Speling
I bought an Irish ring for my boyfriend. It was a claddagh ring. The ring has the hands, heart and crown and the words loyalty, love and friendship are on them. Yet, the word love is misspelled to where its gibberish! I called them and needless to say, nothing happened. It's the manufacturer fault for not spelling the gaelic right. It's not like I asked for it like that, that is how the ring suppose to come. That is what I get for getting an Irish ring in America and not from Ireland or Irish retailers.

Poor Customer Service
I went to Jared's by the Village to pick up an item I purchased online. Unfortunately, I had misplaced my license; however had my passport ( a picture ID) & charge cards (with my name on them). Me misplacing my license was due to recent stressors (illness in the family). Ironically, The day before Jareds let me use my passport to purchase 2 bracelets. The manager refused to release my purchase even though the passport photo was me & the address was my current address. Both the manager & customer service refused to assists me & told me to go to the DMV. Now what if I was disabled or elderly & couldn't get a license. Also Jared's refused to return the Item & let me purchase it and have it sent to my home. They were just not accommodating & without regard for myself. It seemed as if the manager & customer service gained joy in my stress of this situation. No one in that store would help as that manager paraded around. She handed me a post it memo that had my old employers name/# on it; with the # for Jared's customer service. Yep very coincidental a company I worked for at one point in time that an hour+ away from that store. I paid for stress & lousy treatment, nice. We will not return there. I contacted the BBB & filed a complaint.

Buyer beware of in-store jewelers and subpar customer care.
I went to Jared with high hopes but was disappointed from start to finish. On my first visit, I was not acknowledged and I almost had to plead for assistance although the ratio was only two customers to at least five associates.
I paid to size two (personal/non-Jared) rings and had two accent stones replaced. Somehow, the shop altered them negatively. When I called customer service, I was told they could not honor their service guarantee because my jewelry was originally purchased from a fine jeweler. It took several phone calls to get anyone to address the concerns and, as of today, the company did not repair the original issues.
Moving on, I purchased a ring from their store (cash purchase-paid in full) and left it for sizing. That ring was also altered negatively and, again, the in-store shop was unable to correct the damage. Jared agreed to order a replacement because the item was purchased from them. However; there was a delay of nearly three weeks before the order was placed (although both the store personnel and care specialist were involved). Once the order was placed I was informed it would take an additional four weeks for the replacement to arrive. As of today, the replacement is still in process.
Jared hosts an appraisal event monthly. I scheduled an appointment for the event but my replacement ring was not in by that time so I decided not to go. (You will understand the relevance a little later.)
Less than a month later, one of the replacement stones (that I bought from Jared) fell out of my personal ring. I went to the store for a repair. They replaced the missing diamond under service guarantee, but did not give me a receipt. Fast forward a few days and the diamond they put in is chipped and the stone next to it falls out! When I called customer service, I was directed to the local store. When I got there, I was told that they did not have stones to make the repair and that I must have chipped the diamond so I would have to pay to replace it.
Here is where things get interesting: Because they altered the ring I bought from them and changed the original timeline, I went to a fine jeweler to have my personal ring appraised for insurance purposes- no repairs, no sizing, no modifications. *Please note that Jared advertises that their appraisal events are conducted by independent appraisers not affiliated with their company.* When I mentioned to Jared that there were no damages to the ring when I had it appraised (before the "repair" that caused the issues) I was told they could no longer honor their guarantee because my appraisal was done by an independent appraiser.
I now have two damaged pieces of jewelry and am awaiting a replacement for a third. So, since they refused to honor the 6 month guarantee, in month one, I requested a full refund for the shop services and they reluctantly agreed over the phone. However; when I got to the store, the store manager attempted not to comply citing that a portion of the service fees were unrelated to the damages to my personal ring which, is true. The "unrelated" fees were for sizing, which was also done incorrectly so, my full refund was for goodwill and was refunded at 100% (but not without contest).
The worst part of it all is how they treated me through the process. I felt terrible that things did not go well but I was polite each time I went into the store. However; the store manager avoided me (instead of going the extra mile to re-establish my confidence in their brand) and passed me off to different staff with each visit which only served to increase the confusion. There were too many different people involved to to keep the details cohesive.
I later found out (when the merchandise specialist on the phone was audibly "reviewing" the notes) that they had written degrading comments about me in the notes. To make matters worse, when I went into the store to sign for the refund, the store manager was discourteous, visibly made a mockery of me and made snide comments about me while she was on the phone with customer care. She epitomized unprofessionalism.
To top everything off, the most recent repair I received (the one that damaged my ring further) was a personnel theft! The reason I did not receive a receipt is because the repair was not entered into Jared's system. The store manager's face resembled a deer in headlights when she realized I was not being irrational and that the stones they placed had fallen out and chipped twice in a matter of four days. She seemed even more surprised that her shop staff had sent me out of the store with inventory that had never been accounted for or documented. My gratification came when I was able to point out the staff member to her and recommend that she check the security cameras to verify that my husband and I were indeed in her store 4 days prior for the same type of repair.
So, as of this moment, I am still waiting for my replacement and I have to go to another jeweler at my expense to repair the damages from Jared. I read bad reviews after I had already taken the plunge to shop with Jared but I wish I had been proactive enough to research their company before it was too late.
On a good note, Jared does carry a nice selection of jewelry and a small portion is competitively priced. I would however; encourage future customers to pass on their repair shop and take your sizings and other repairs to credible, licensed, experienced jewelers who can provide the full spectrum of services and show you simple courtesy.

ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY. NOTHING ELSE
My wife went into Jared on 10/23/14 in search of a wedding present for me. I told her I wanted a Tag Heuer, so of course that is what she asked for. The associate showed her 3-4k watches. She said my budget is $1500. He then showed her the Movado, which she purchased. She spent over $1200 and they didn't bother setting the time/date. On our honeymoon in Jamaica I went swimming with it (supposed to be water resistant). After 3 days the bezel was cloudy and the watch stopped working. Upon my return from Jamaica I stopped in at Jared and explained the situation. The Manager said there was nothing she could do besides send it back to Movado and said it "probably" wouldn't cover water damage and I may incur a service fee for repairing the watch. I then called corporate which they assigned a case specialist the same day. They told me she would contact me within 24-48 hours. I called on Tuesday 11/04/14 after the 48 hour period and asked why I hadn't received a call. Long story short a person was assigned my claim and said she was going to call me by the end of the day to resolve the issue. No phone call Tuesday evening, Wednesday, or Thursday. In the meantime I have called once a day to check on the status with my claim. Finally, Today 11/07/14 I received a phone call from the claim specialist stating she left me a message but must have had the wrong number (the daily voicemails I left had the correct contact number). An absolute excuse. My wife and I will not purchase anything else from Jared. THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED. It would be different if I was buying a Timex from wal-mart.

Will NEVER shop there Again!
My husband purchased a new set of rings for us 3 times what the original set was back in 2009', which was also purchased at Jareds. It was as a Surprise to me. Unfortunately he was unaware of the TRADE IN POLICY w Jareds. We could have traded our old rings and received a credit towards the new rings.
*** Please be sure to READ ALL & handle pending issues within 30DAYS ***
Because they were CUSTOM pieces the trade in was not honored. And according to them it was past the 30 days. Not to mention that it took them 3 WEEKS to make them... Those 3 weeks counted towards the 30 days!!!!!!!!!
This is Unacceptable as well as No Customer Service past the SELL STAGE.
*** BUYER BEWARE ***
I will Never shop there again!

Explain Your Warranty
My experience with Jared's hasn't been awful, but I will certainly not buy from them again. My husband bought my ring at the Orem, UT location in October of 2011. He also purchased a small pair of earrings, and of course was made to pay for the extended warranty.
In the third week of June 2012, a little over three weeks before our wedding, I was at work when I happened to look down and was horrified to see that one of the stones had fallen out of my ring. The ring has an invisible tension setting, so there are nine small stones put together. It looked ghastly.
We immediately took the ring in and, at that time, were informed that the ring was outside the warranty because it had not been brought in for the six-month inspection. My husband blatantly and disgustedly told the woman helping us that when he purchased the ring and said warranty, he was not informed that it needed to be brought in for any inspections.
Fortunately Jared's did not give us a hard time. We were told the ring would need to be sent out to be fixed and that it could take up to six weeks. My husband's response was that they had two weeks, or else they could keep the ring and issue a refund because he would be going somewhere else.
We waited a week before he was called back to the store. My ring was not repaired, they instead gave him an identical ring to the one that had been damaged.
We have not had any problems with Jared's since. However given the fact that so many important details were not shared by under-educated and misinformed employees, I will not be making any further purchases from this particular jeweler.

Go somewhere else
Bought a ring tried to sell it to make money. I was offered 95% less than what I paid for it. Jared is not a trustworthy company I will take my business elsewhere and so should you.
