Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Very rude. I will definitely be banking elsewhere. I only gave a 1 star because 0 star was not an option.

If you want a company whose deposit app only works 10% of the time! This is the bank for you! Trying to deposit my own money on my app is so hit or miss. This is why I will be leaving this dreadful company. If you are going to have a mobile banking app at least make sure it works!

My husband and I have a checking account with Huntington national Bank. I called the customer service department to find out how I could freeze and unfreeze my account. Customer service agent said because I am five hours away and out of the footprint she would transfer to a different department and find out what my options are. She placed me on hold for 15 minutes and never got back with me. The call dropped several times I called back and the phone was always being disconnected. I never got to speak to anybody from that department the next day my husband tried to use our bank account and it was frozen. We just purchased a house in Maryland started our jobs and had no access to our money we had to open a new account and was told once we linked both bank accounts we would be able to transfer our funds or the other option was to write a letter requesting that the bank account would be closed and send it through email to the Bank. I linked our bank accounts initiated the transfer the money from my savings account went into my new bank account and the money from my checking was pending. I got a returned fee charge at my new bank for $28 and my account was then restricted due to the transfer that was supposed to go into my bank account. I then had to contact my new Bank send in statements from my other bank. Send my ID verify who I was why I needed the money where it was coming from before they could unlock my account. I had to do a three-way call with both banks and myself to talk about the situation so that my new Bank could notarize the letter from the other bank so I could send that via email to have my funds sent to me by cashiers check from the other bank in West Virginia Fairmont ! This is the worst Bank that I’ve ever had to deal with. I’ve never had any problem with any other Bank they didn’t call me back. They didn’t answer any of my questions. They froze my bank account without permission and then told me I either had to be there face-to-face, which was a 5 Hour Dr. there was no other way for them to verify my identity yet they have no problem canceling my account and sending me the money through a cashiers check by just receiving an email. This is the worst experience I have ever had.!!!

Hopping on the bandwagon to share my experience with this bank: it has been absolutely terrible. Run. Run. Run. They were incredibly eager to get us signed up, but once the paperwork was complete, they disappeared. Communication has been virtually nonexistent. We've been passed from one person to another, with no one taking ownership or providing answers. It's been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've ever had. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this bank to anyone. The lack of accountability, responsiveness, and professionalism has been astonishing. My interactions with John Walters, Todd Lystad, and Leah Kirsch only reinforced that impression, as none of them provided the level of service or support that should be expected.

This bank is not trustworthy anymore. They seem to have gotten too big and dont care. They find ways to take your money and then keep it! Dont use them ever!!!

Horrible experience!! HUNTINGTON just told me that their systems are experiencing issues and randomly rejecting payments from checking and debit accounts. "We're working on it and we apologize for any inconvenience." I could spit fire at them right now. They've successfully planted the seed for me to take my business elsewhere.

Huntington Bank took over our mortgage from Cadence Bank. Not only did they incorrectly inform us that we were behind on our payment, they somehow removed a name from the mortgage and expect us to go fix the issue. HOW does a bank manage to screw up the NAMES ON A MORTGAGE? We now have zero faith in this company. It's a terrible feeling to lose confidence in financial dealings.

If I could rate Huntington 0 stars, I would. This is the second time this week that I’ve had issues with them and I am genuinely concerned that there is a profit scheme going on. Earlier this week, I attempted to buy groceries at my local Walmart and it declined. When I called, they stated they were concerned it was fraud so licked my account for 24-72 hours while they investigated. So I had to put all my groceries back. Today, I went to buy a bridesmaid dress I needed ($50). I transferred $ to my checking to do so and when I went back to make sure it took out the money (cause they’ve had issues taking out money claiming that they haven’t yet then I get charged again later and have to dispute it), it says I got double charged. So I call to tell them to cancel it before I get double charged cause it’ll overdraft my account and they say they can’t dispute it til it posts 24-72 hours later…but the “grace periods” for overdrafting are only 24hrs. So I’m going to get a $25 overdraft fee for THEIR issue. When I said I wasn’t going to accept that, I got hung up on. I’m not willing to transfer another $50 into my checking to avoid the overdraft because I know Huntington and I know they’ll say that that transfer is the return of the $50 because that’s how they run. I honestly hope they go out of business.
