Demetri
Prime example of company who over rely on AI, and have fallen apart because of it
I run a 10-property short-term rental portfolio and have paid Hospitable €213 a month to take guest messaging and channel management off my hands. In July it stopped doing the job, and getting anyone at Hospitable to care about that turned out to be harder than fixing it myself. On 21 July I sent a fully diagnosed report — I'd audited all 33 of my checked-in reservations and handed over exact reservation codes. Two guests had arrived at locked doors because their check-in instructions silently failed to send. Templates were going out with blank property names and blank lockbox codes. Booking.com was selling one-night stays on properties configured for a three-night minimum. Real guests, real lost revenue. What came back, 78 seconds later, was "Smarty" — their AI agent. It thanked me for the detail and asked for a messaging rule ID. I gave it. It came back and asked which reservation code I'd like it to look at — from the list I had already sent it twice. I re-pasted my original email. It then asked me to go and check my own settings for it. I asked to speak to a human. The AI replied asking me which of my issues I'd like the human to focus on. When I said I'd cancel if a person didn't get in touch, it offered me a link to buy Priority Support — an upsell, mid-complaint, for the privilege of being answered. A human, Vince, appeared on 26 July. Five days. On 31 July he sent his findings, and this is the part that matters: he confirmed every single thing I reported. Messages failing in Booking.com delivery after exhausted retries. Timeout errors in the minimum-stay sync, which is why Booking.com undersold my properties. Cleaning-task notifications silently switched off so my team stopped being told about jobs. He said engineering was "actively investigating" and that they'd keep me updated. That was five days ago. Nothing since. No update, no fix confirmation, no answer on the service credit I asked for on day one — that was never acknowledged at any point by anyone. Two weeks. Confirmed platform faults costing me money. A support experience where the only fast responses were from a bot recycling the same sentence — "I recognize that these failures have directly impacted your guests and resulted in lost revenue" — while nothing was actually resolved. Standards have slipped badly here. If you run a portfolio of any size, understand what you're buying: when it breaks, there is no one at the other end.

Hi Demetri, the support you've received over the past two weeks has missed the mark. A support manager has since stepped in and replied to your support ticket to address your concerns.
