This is our first time investing in rental real estate. Gary Nguyen was very helpful in answering all of our questions, no matter how small. He really listened to what we wanted and customized our wishlist accordingly. But the best part was that when we found a property that we thought would be a good investment, he actually said "no, don't buy this" after the inspection report was completed. He then led us to another property and jumped on it so we wouldn't lose it - we are very pleased with our recent purchase and look forward to our first rental check and our next purchase.

The experience was no more difficult than buying a primary residence. There is the usual back and forth with the mortgage company, seller, etc but the website made it easy to keep track. No it's just write the mortgage check and see the money for rent deposited in my account. Great investment.

Plus they offer soup-to-nuts management, initial rehabilitation, and maintenance of your rental properties, and even organize all of the paperwork and transaction records online. The fee structure seems fair, but could use more explanation. The only challenge I have had is ensuring a full accounting of the transactions - they have been slow in responding to requests for account reconciliation. Overall I have been very pleased with the people involved and the transactions and intend to continue to invest and work with HomeUnion.

It was hard to get some people on the phone but when I did get them they would answer my questions or find the person that could. I feel better now about everything now because I've gone through the process. They are honest and if there was a mistake they would pay some of the cost or all to make it up.
