I bought my first property with Home Union recently. It took a couple of months but they were very good about keeping me informed on the process. I found them very responsive whenever I emailed asking for status updates. Kelliey was really good about answering questions.

Level of customer service for the purchase process is very poor as compared to what any realtor would offer - makes me question the 3.5% homeunion fees that they charge on top of 3% real estate commission. I would definitely not work with them again unless the business model changes.

I generally had a good experience through the buying process. My only concern would be that the online platform can somewhat understate the amount of cash equity needed to complete a transaction, especially if rehab is required. I'd consider changing how that's presented. Equity holders may need a bit more basis than what appears on the HU financials.

This was my first ever experience purchasing real estate and my team at HomeUnion did an excellent job. I was very pleased with their knowledge and quick turnaround time. Thomas was an excellent point person who returned my calls and answered any questions I had. The lending team was also very responsive and made what could have been a stressful or nervous situation very seamless. Two areas that might benefit from some improvement are: a. the closing costs were a bit higher than expected. It wasn't so much the cost as the "being unexpected" part. And b., the property management rehab estimations seemed high. The house purchased was relatively new and I wasn't expecting to potentially have $10,000 in expenses. That being said, the team did everything they could to do a great job and I was very pleased with the result. I will most definitely consider using HomeUnion again when looking for another investment property. -Also, I love the website and having all of the records in one place.
