Stay clear of any offers to join this timeshare nightmare with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. It’s not worth it! I have been trapped in a contract that will never deliver what they told me it would. Once you sign, there is no way out of this financial black hole. I tried speaking with them to find a way to resolve my concerns, and they basically told me they wouldn’t help. There has to be a way out of this. Don’t believe the promises; you’ll do much better without them.

Complete Dishonesty
Between the total lack of availability and prices that make zero sense, we feel completely stuck in a contract they won't let us out of. Honestly, I'd tell anyone to stay far away from them. Dealing with this timeshare has been the worst experience.

Despite reaching out to them directly via email and through Horizons, they refuse to cooperate with me. My account will not be closed by them, and what they charge is simply not worth the actual value the membership offers.

Holiday Inn will not help me.
I have spoken with several representatives at your company who have stated that my timeshare is in the foreclosure process; however, they have yet to provide me with any documentation indicating a timeline for this matter. I am growing impatient with the whole process. I stopped paying the maintenance fees for some of these same reasons - poor customer service, lack of guidance and communication, and stall tactics. To me, this confirms and justifies my decision to vacate the timeshare. Even in closing the property, your representatives failed to communicate. I am so frustrated that I would tell others not to purchase a timeshare from Holiday Inn Club Vacations. Please expedite my foreclosure. Thank you.

I have only used this membership a single time. What was presented to me during sign-up differs completely from the actual experience, and they are refusing to let me close my account!

Canadian Buyer Beware
Horrifying experience with Holiday Inn Club Vacations timeshare offer. What I am about to say concerning specifics of the timeshare contract are based on memory, since the company deliberately does not provide written information packages for personal inspection. Some minor details concerning the contract may be missing or wrong.
My wife and I frequently use HI Express when we travel in the US. We also vacation around the world when possible.
As frequent users of HI hotels, were invited to a 2 hour session about a time share in Las Vegas in return for $250 cash towards the cost of our hotel plus other perks.
Essentially, one purchases points that are applied to partial condo ownership ( in preferred lots of 200,000 points) which buys you 1-4 weeks in LV or any other the other US properties Holiday Inn Club Vacations owns in the US, depending on the time of year and size of condo. 200,000 points buys 1 week in prime time, popular property, larger condo. Buys up to 4 weeks if low season, unpopular property, small unit.
If you purchase 200,000 points, you have 2 years to use them in the several US sites. Alternatively, you can transfer the points (no expiry time) to another corporation with properties world wide in return for an additional annual fee over $200, OR you can transfer the points to an affiliated company, IHG International, and stay worldwide, but you will loose 20% of the value of your points in the process!!! (it took close questioning to arrive at that conclusion).
Our agent Sammy declined to give his name until asked, but was initially friendly and persuasive. He invited questions, but then told us that any questions would lengthen the process beyond 2 hours and prevent him from seeing another client waiting for him. Time pressure implied.
We listened intently, visited a beautiful suite, but were given no details concerning cost until a one page contract was given to us at the end of the 3d hour.
The cost of 200,000 points was $38,000 for a Las Vegas base and $48,000 for our preferred site of Orlando. There were multiple signing bonuses, all of transient value.
The annual carrying cost was $1200 for Orlando. Since this is partial condo ownership, costs will go up in the future. (a fact not presented until asked)
There is no mechanism to sell the points except by your own efforts and HI has the right of first refusal. You or your estate are stuck with the annual fee, or you can give the responsibility to your kids. Presumably your estate will be sued if payment is stopped, but we didn’t explore that.
I asked to be referred to current owners to discuss their satisfaction (“ impossible, we protect our owners’ privacy”). So there is no way to confirm that folks actually enjoy their purchase.
I asked to see the fine print on the 1 page contract he was pressuring me to sign.
Sammy said “Don’t you trust what I have told you?”. I answered that I always look at the fine print. “You will see the fine print once you have signed” So I asked, “Is this the contract, or is there another one with fine print?”
He would not answer this question directly.
I was dumbfounded.
His manner snapped in an instant. “You are Canadians. You are guests in my country. You are not entitled to do things here as you would at home. You have wasted my time in coming here without planning to purchase.”
We were astounded at Sammy’s interpretation of American exceptionalism. Realizing he was losing control of the situation, he sought the assistance of 2 other agents, who greeted us kindly, asked for our patience with Sammy’s well known methods, (good cop/ bad cop) and offered us 2 other contracts (obviously previously prepared for this eventuality), for progressively cheaper and less valuable fractions of timeshare ownership. The pressure to sign was intense and we barely escaped unsigned. The last 1/2 hour was like an interrogation by a prosecuting attorney aware he was losing the case. It took nerves of steel to refuse, but we got our $250, but would not have if we had left before the dance played out.
In the end we refused to sign because of: -the shameful and astoundingly bad behaviour of the 1st agent.
-our responsibility to dispose of our shares if we did not like or got too old to enjoy the ownership, and the presumption of lawsuit if we reneged.
-the very slick, well coordinated high pressure tactics of a sophisticated group of salesmen all planning to have you sign up for $48000 of condo ownership within 2 hours.
-the lack of option to take away a few glossies, and ponder the purchase overnight.
-the inability to discuss ownership with any current owner.
This experience has forever transformed our view of Holiday Inn from that of a classy corporation and we will never stay with them again.

I would never recommend someone to believe anything they tell you. This membership has been the worst experience, and they are expecting us to pay far too much for what we get.
