I had a background check done by HireRight in 2024, the results were fast and they did their job of finding my previous company's contacts. I'm going through a background check again and the experience is absolutely horrible. First of all, I submitted the initial data 10 days ago and the background check is still ongoing. Their software product is flawed: I cannot edit certain data and email notifications for updates work 1 out of 3 times. They keep asking for 1-2 extra documents at a time repeatedly and they ask for redundant information. I have submitted employment contracts, extracts of my social contributions and provided contact information of my last employer and that's still not enough to confirm my previous employment. They also ask for the exact document you have already sent before which is infuriating.

Horrible customer service. 48 hours to get any answers. Placed on long holds. Not willing to help in any capacity. DO NOT USE!

My experience with HireRight was extremely frustrating and ultimately cost me a job offer. The background report they provided contained inaccurate information and instead of verifying the details themselves I was expected to do all the legwork tracking down documentation correcting errors and repeatedly following up. This process was stressful time consuming and poorly communicated. Despite my efforts to resolve the discrepancies the delays and inaccuracies resulted in the employer withdrawing my job offer which was devastating. A background check company should be thorough accurate and proactive especially when peoples livelihoods are on the line. HireRight needs to improve their verification process accuracy and support. When errors occur there should be faster resolution and accountability not placing the entire burden on the candidate. I would caution employers and job seekers alike as mistakes in this process can have serious real world consequences.

If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. This is the worst place I've ever dealt with before! I had to verify a prescription with them. No problem....or so I thought. 14 emails, 2 medical releases & 3 phone calls later, it's finally verified. Mind you, I did everything asked of me from the very beginning. Apparently they will not call to verify anything themselves though, so your physician sending them proper documentation isn't enough. No. You have to have your physician call them & verify their own documents. They are an absolute nightmare! After waiting weeks! They emailed me on New Year's Eve & tried to give me 24hrs for my physician to call them! I had to fight for an extension, just so my physician would be back in the office! Every conversation with them was so cold. The way they treat people is awful. If companies that are using hire right are having a hard time hiring, it's absolutely because of them. I was fully ready to just apply elsewhere because I didn't want to have to deal with them any longer. I first faxed the proper documents to them on December 18th. It's now January 6th & because my physician called them to verify the documents, everything is finally ( hopefully) done. This entire process was so unprofessional. I cannot believe companies are choosing to use hire right.

This company or fragmented party encompasses unfavorable elements; susceptibility,discommode, neglecting fundamental principles lackluster to null supportive measures, aloof in resolve or response. Redundant request for w2, payment statements, transcripts, military records, they cannot comprehend that 2025 w2s aren't available due to employer scheduling to IRS and snail mail. HireRight shouldn't be in business for security reasons their upload link is never stable and there is grave concern that http is missing the s for encryption. There isn't a single erudite to place mark this entity as less than one star. This clownshoe agency will disrupt your start date and may even dissolve your chance to be hired. What should have taken two days to finalize turned into three weeks. HireRight is far from being professional and right seems convoluted.

I had to take a drug test for a new job I had one drug that I needed verified that I had a prescription for the place I was receiving this drug from wrote a letter on a company letter head with all info and a phone number I called hire right to make sure they got the fax they said they tried to call and verify the fax buy the number was disconnected I double checked the number was correct I even called it .so I reached out to hire right again because you only have a certain amount of days they said they tried again and it was wrong so I got the place to call them with just a few hours remaining the Lady st hire right was convinced I was lying was very rude and would not let me talk almost cost me the job the worst place I have ever dealt with,and you could barely understand anyone that worked there

I would give zero stars if I could. HireRight is attempting to contact my company for a background check on a previous employee. We have told this company that this week we cannot provide that because our HR department who handles that is out this week. They have faxed us the information and we have forwarded the information on. The company they are assisting even contacted us and we relayed the information regarding the delay to them directly. HireRight's customer has not contacted us since. Yet HireRight themselves, they have continued to call us several times every day since. I attempted to call them to ask them to stop calling us but "there was nothing they could do" for me. Please do not use this company. They harass companies beyond what is even remotely reasonable.

There are some people with no personality and no manners, who act as if they are working in an intelligence organization and we are the accused. I do not understand why I should have payslips from 10 or 15 years ago to present to them, or why the place I worked 10 years ago should matter at all. I hope no company ever works with them.
