I booked my mom a senior-care mani-pedi and added an extra pedicure service for $21. The tech 1) arrived about 20 minutes late and 2) left without doing the pedicure. My mom said that the tech was supposed to return the next day at 10am to do the pedicure but never showed. I called HereSpa to find out what happened, and they responded by saying the tech wouldn't be returning and they will refund $65 of my $150 payment (pre-tip). Considering I paid extra for the pedicure, I think the refund should have been more. I also paid a 25% tip for a service that wasn't provided.
Aside from the financial part of it, the tech didn't communicate anything to me (as the one who booked the appointment and paid for it) about needing to leave or returning the next day. We had been texting so a quick update would have been appropriate. If I hadn't inquired about what happened, HereSpa would have just kept all of the money without providing the complete service. I wouldn't trust them.

We reviewed the records and communications associated with this appointment to clarify the timeline and circumstances.
The appointment was scheduled for 2:00 PM at a senior living facility. Unlike appointments at private residences, appointments within senior living facilities may require additional time to park, enter the building, complete the facility’s required sign-in process, and travel through the facility to the resident’s room. These access requirements vary by facility and are outside of HereSpa’s control.
The facility independently confirmed from its sign-in log that the provider signed in at 2:10 PM. The provider reported that she had arrived at the property several minutes earlier and parked in the facility’s parking garage before entering and signing in. She then proceeded to the client’s room and attempted to locate the client.
The provider reported that she knocked several times but was unable to immediately reach the client. Records show that at 2:14 PM, she attempted to contact the telephone number provided in the booking instructions. After receiving no response, she subsequently communicated with the daughter regarding locating the client.
The manicure portion of the appointment was completed. The pedicure was not completed that day. The provider reported that the client was tired and did not continue with the pedicure. The daughter was not present during the appointment and provided a different account of the circumstances. There is no independent documentation establishing what occurred between the provider and client regarding the decision not to complete the pedicure at that time.
There was a miscommunication regarding the remaining pedicure service. The provider and client discussed having the provider return to complete it. The provider stated that she instructed the client to contact HereSpa to arrange the return visit. The client understood that the provider would return the following day at 10:00 AM. No follow-up appointment was scheduled through HereSpa, and the provider did not return.
After the daughter contacted HereSpa, our team contacted the provider and reviewed the circumstances. The provider advised that she was no longer available to make the return trip. A refund was offered to the daughter for the unresolved portion of the appointment, and the refund was accepted.
