NO refund (with receipt in hand) without intrusive data collection September 30th, 2022 I purchased an item for cash for under $10 at Harbor Freight Tools. Did not open or damage the package in any way. Through clear packaging and upon further examination, this item was obviously not what size would be needed. In less than 24 hrs after purchase, with receipt in hand I tried to return the item to the store. Even with receipt, they require name, phone number and to "just one last little piece", to scan in your Drivers License. None of this is made known at time of purchase, and the front of receipt states receipt needed for returns. HOWEVER on the back of the receipt, it states that the will collect the Drivers License information and possibly share with a 3rd party of the return that you made. You are a criminal just for bringing back an obviously un-opened item with receipt in hand! Do yourself and any persons you may know, (keep away from this what is rated as a junk dealer in so many reviews), They use deceptive practices and refuse even a refund less than one day later with receipt for an item that was simply not the appropriate size. Will never enter their door again. I will tell of this to all who will listen and hopefully cost this company 10,000 times the items value in lost business. Tip for consumers: Be open and honest with any review, thus the offenders will always get what is coming to them. Even with cash purchase and receipt in hand in less than 24 hrs, on an un-opened package, harbor freight would not take a return without data collection and scanning your Drivers license. Information that they DO NOT share at checkout time and will not get. I will not use this item, as I will share the experience on as much social media as possible, along with eventual photos of the still sealed package.

Bought 2 items online, AFTER I PAID 2 days later I find out one item is backordered. The item is available at several stores around me, but I cannot pick up one at a store. I must wait until their inventory gets it which could be up to a month. And the other item shipped and is expected to arrive in 7 days. DO NOT USE THE ONLINE PROCESS

In April I bought a #57365 2000lb Electric Utility Winch. The first time I used it, the winch jammed when the wire rope wrapped around outside the spindle and got caught between the spindle and the housing. I could not find any way to untangle it without totally dismantling the winch. So I took it back to the store. They refunded my money no questions asked. I then grabbed the bigger #61480 2500lb winch (looks the same, but has a radio transmitter- reciever-controller). It worked fine a three or four times but again the rope got caught between the spool and the housing. I untangled it again, and continued using it. After about two months the battery in the little radio transmitter key fob died. I replaced it and the winch worked one more time. When I tried to use it again the two CR2032 batteries had died. When I replaced them the transmitter would light up, but would NOT stay on. I went to the store to buy the 2000lb winch since it has a simple controller that utilizes switches instead of radios. I called customer service, after I described the issue they decided to send me a entire new winch. So now my problem is I have three winches and two controllers. But I don't trust the radio transmitter controllers, since the process of changing the may batteries may damage them.

Yea I bought the hvlp replacement spray gun for $99 and bought the two year warranty so from my experience the gun is pretty good but did break and I’ve been tryin to return it for the past 3 weeks and nothin. So point is don’t pay the extra money $50 extended warranty because it’s useless. Just a waste of money cuz they never have a replacement like they said so that’s why they get 3 stars.

Every time I go to this store in Hialeah I see the store manager arguing with customers and a very low quality customer service. I went Today 9/07/2022 at 3:26pm looking for a a 1500pound STL ATV/motorcicle with I see in display but not on the shelf . After getting in line to get to the register I was told by Maria, the cashier, to get the SKU number in a very rude way . After I paid for the item I had to ask the General manager (short old man) were I could pick it up. The General manager told me it was sold out, that was not true cause the asistente manager found the item on the back of the store and brought it to me. After I get this item in my hands I went to the store manager office and ask him why his lack of honesty and poor customer service. I had to walked out of the store very disappointed.

This company sells defective equipment and refuses to take it back without charging a fee. If you choose to do business with them, bring a jar of Vaseline with you. You're going to need it.

Let me start by saying I've been a HF customer for many, many years. Turnersville/Blackwood store, Vineland store and others while servicing my own customers since 1994. Went to Turnersville store, bought 2 battery operated pumps and other items. Later that week put in new batteries, nothing. Put same batteries in the other pump, worked. Tried again with first pump, nothing. Took receipt and pump back to store and I am not lying, smirk on his face telling me I have to get a refund on line, their website. The person in front of me was returning some tool, he got a refund. Went online and of course I had to go through the process of taking a picture of the Receipt because the print was not clear enough or whatever, all I wanted was my refund credited back to my card or another pump. Back and forth e-mails since June 7, 2022 telling me they received my request. Stating "Please allow a few business days for the request to be reviewed." Then on July 11, 2022, same statement in another e-mail. It's now July 20 (two weeks later) and with Receipt number to them, they tell me they cannot find my account? That's because I don't have an account under my name but of course they didn't bother to look at the phone number that my wife uses, so why have 2 accounts? Another stall as not to be bothered. Now August 4th, and now they tell me 6 - 8 weeks for a refund. Two months waiting for a $12.00 refund. I ask, "Send me a pump replacement" and another stall, ignore my request but want my mailing address because from the beginning it never, never looked like they would return my $12.00 or send a pump replacement, or them to contact the store to provide me another pump, offer me decent service or whatever... Well you guessed it, told them to keep their $12.00 as they have not only lost a long time customer but my wife, son, and other family members business. I have informed my employees and associates to shop elsewhere because I will NOT honor any HF Receipts they turn in for their supplies or tools. Thus if they shop there it's on them, not on my Company books any longer. And of course telling others in conversation of this companies actions and will continue. So after this post goes live, now you also know.

I placed my first (and only) online order during March of this year. One item was back ordered and delivery was delayed. It is now August 2022 and the item never arrived. I contacted them today for the third time to follow up and was told the item has been discontinued. Interestingly, I saw the item for sale at my local Harbor Freight Tools store; I emailed customer service to ask why it is available there but I had not received my order. Their reply: "we don't have the same inventory as stores." I asked for a voucher to pick up at the store and was told "no." I'm so tired of the runaround that I will not order again from this company who is so disorganized and disconnected from its' customers. And quite frankly, they don't care.
