I would exercise caution before accepting a sales position with 1-800-HANSONS based on my personal experience. During the hiring and training process, I understood that commissions would be paid with 75% upfront and the remaining 25% at a later stage. However, I have not yet received all of the commission compensation I expected, and I have struggled to obtain clear information regarding the timing of those payments. When I contacted corporate for clarification, I was told that I would need to wait for the process to run its course. I left those conversations feeling frustrated because I did not receive a clear timeline or explanation regarding my concerns. I also found it challenging to achieve consistent sales results because many of the leads assigned to me appeared to involve prospective customers with significant financing obstacles. In my experience, this made closing sales more difficult and sometimes left me feeling that important factors affecting success were beyond my control. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this position to individuals who depend on predictable commission income or who expect detailed communication regarding compensation. I would encourage anyone considering employment to carefully review the commission structure, payment schedule, and employment terms in writing and to ask detailed questions before accepting an offer. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions.

Dealing with Hansons has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business. If you care about your home, DO NOT use Hansons. Poor quality work followed by non-existent customer service trying to get the matters resolved. Even after involving an attorney and a failed inspection, they have not fixed a poor siding job. All they need to do is replace a piece of siding. They literally said they order the piece last fall, but then sent someone out who did nothing more than add a yellow screw to my gray siding and called it fixed. It is NOT fixed. They have created a vessel for rain entry, mold and insect infestation. The inspector agreed that it was absolutely crappy work and noted it on his report. Still nothing from Hansons. I submitted yet ANOTHER service request several weeks ago and no response at all. Not a phone call, not an email. I will fight to the end to get that piece of siding replaced. Next stop is a report to the BBB. Bottomline, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Find a local contractor who is not just a middle man. Someone you can contact and actually talk to when there are problems. I paid several thousand dollars for replaced siding and it it worse than what I already had. Wish I could give ZERO stars.

We recently used 1.800.HANSONS and bought new windows for our house. It was a big project - 28 windows! We ordered black outside/white inside. They were stunning! The install was quick and the install crew was very pleasant.  We were told they would ‘professionally’ clean all the windows after our two-day install. Two windows arrived (and were installed) broken. We were told they would be reordered and replaced. We weren’t too concerned at the time. Post-install, we realized that there was a gap between our screens and the windows…bugs could come right in! We reported this immediately to our salesman. We’ve had our windows in for a couple months now -  our broken windows have not been replaced, we’ve heard nothing about our screen issue, they did not clean the windows and some of them have a goo on them that does not come off (we’ve actually heard this residue ruins the window and is installation drippings and not good for the glass).  Everything has been reported, but since the install I have been put on the back burner and have been left to deal with all of this on my own.  Also the black outside is only partially black and now I have black and white windows from the outside which they say is because of the screens and there is nothing they can do about it.  Not good.  What started out as one of the most pleasant experience has become a very big, VERY expensive disappointment.

WARNING! Hanson had two people each measure my house for windows, including Steve who sold them to me. They both measured 3 out of 6 wrong and the installer had to belt sand about a 1\2" off the sides of 3 windows to get them to fit. Also, the installer came without the correct color of metal to wrap the windows with so they had to come back several days later to finish. The windows were NO BETTER THAN $300 -$400 WINDOWS AT MENARDS etc. So installation cost of about $800 per window was the biggest price of the job. 4 hours to install at about $1200 per hour labor! Outrageously high! Never again.

In mid March 2026, I signed a contract and purchased Windows from one 800 Hansen. I gave them a $10,000 deposit. They promised me that I would have new windows installed in 6 to 8 weeks. Throughout April and May I was told that the windows would be delivered to the warehouse by the end of the first week of June, and that once they had arrived delivering install installation at my home would be scheduled for the second week in June. Last week was the first week of June and I couldn’t get the installation coordinator to return phone calls. When I spoke to her early this week, in fact, the windows had not arrived, and there was no target delivery date, and therefore no scheduled installation date. Today I received a text and an email saying that I’ll be waiting an additional 5 to 7 weeks. That means I’ll be lucky if I have windows installed by the end of July. More likely it will be sometime in August. I started this process in March to avoid the summer rush and to obtain my Windows by the end of May. Instead, I’m going to be waiting in the neighborhood of 20 weeks for these windows while they are tying up $10,000 of my hard earned money. As a widow on a fixed income having that kind of money tied up for 20 weeks is unacceptable. Frankly, it’s unacceptable for anyone. I have no confidence or trust in this company and I do not recommend that anybody does business with them.

My windows were installed in December of 2025. As part of the installation they were to put insulation around and under the exterior window to prevent draft. The window extends beyond the frame like a bay window but it is 3 individual windows. At the initial install the latch on one window did not work properly. The installer recommended full window replacement, but corporate initially attempted a repair. After two missed appointments, a technician returned on April 14 and ultimately confirmed a full replacement is needed. It is now June. The window has not been replaced, insulation remains incomplete, and I have received no responses to calls or emails since April. Customer service is consistently unavailable, with delayed or no follow-up. While the initial sales experience was positive, the follow-through, customer service, and warranty support have been extremely disappointing. Given that the window was defective at the time of installation, this issue should have been addressed as an immediate replacement rather than treated as a warranty matter. I do not recommend this company for any work as once you sign the dotted line, they have you hook, line and sinker.

1 800 hansons destroyed our home. They were doing our roof and we got 3 inches of rain. That day and the contractor doing the roof could not cover the roof with proper tarps. They were all full of holes. Our whole house caved in ceilings, insulation flooded the basement. Floors got warped walls, buckled, then we're out $75,000 dollars, which insurance won't pay, because I was contracted with these people.

Less than a year ago, I solicited Hanson Roofing’s services for roofing and gutter services. Regrettably, the gutters have collapsed and sustained damage for several months. I initiated contact with a company representative, who assured me that the issue would be addressed. However, despite months of no follow-up, I was informed that the company does not cover damages resulting from the winter storm, even though the roof and gutters were installed less than a year ago. The workmanship was subpar, and the company has now refused to rectify the problem, instead requesting that I contact my homeowner’s insurance for repairs. This situation is unacceptable, as I paid over $20,000 for a service that failed to last over a year before exhibiting defects.
