Terrible. Unable to connect to our UPS account. Their support chat is useless. No one replies. UPS Ireland accounts do not have a postcode associated with it. Yet Shippo requires a postcode associated with the account, which we cannot produce, because UPS Ireland has no such field in the account.
Update: if we don’t hear back from Shippo, we’ll go with ShipStation instead.
Update: they've gotten back to me with information about a potential workaround - but with a diminished preview/estimate of shipping rates on creation of label. I shall try and see whether it works.
Update: the Shippo team has gotten back to me about this. They've been helpful to facilitate a workaround. But on trying out the software, I found out that many things like dangerous goods (e.g., batteries) cannot be declared, or extra declaration statements for international shipments, or additional document uploads (e.g., certificate of origin, product safety sheet, etc.).

Hi there,
Thanks for leaving us a review. We’re really sorry to hear that you haven’t been able to get in touch with our Support team. This doesn’t sound like the service we provide to our customers at all and we’d like to connect you with someone ASAP so you can connect to your UPS account and have any other questions addressed. If you could please provide us with your email so we can have one of our team members reach out to you, that would be great. Our apologies again and we hope to see you around on Shippo once this is resolved.
Thank you,
Shippo Support

Suddenly Charged Fees With No Explanation
I have used Shippo for MONTHS, and had been telling everyone about their awesome prices and ease of navigating the site to create labels…then this happened:
Shippo sent out an email stating they would begin charging those who were not shipping with correct weight, dimensions, etc., mentioning the pandemic, etc. I found this odd because a pandemic would have nothing to do with people not correctly weighing their packages but I wasn’t worried because I not only use a postal scale to weight my packages properly, but I also specifically purchase shipping boxes from Walmart because Walmart has preprinted dimension measurements on the boxes. Additionally, when I drop them off, I wait and have my packages checked in so that I have a RECEIPT that matches my recorded package weights and dimensions so there is never an issue with my packages.
As always, per their policy, unless your shipments are $100 or more, Shippo usually waits until the 16th or 20th of the month before they bill you, which has always been okay with me. Fast-forward to the 20th, and I receive an invoice stating they’d charged my account $24.51 for the 3 packages I’d sent at the beginning of the month and I was happy as usual with their services. Then on the 29th of that same month, I see a sudden charge for $18 made to my debit card from them with no explanation! I go to my online account and not only is there no invoice, but not a single email stating why this charge was made! I immediately contact them via email asking what is this about, as I have receipts from UPS as well as the USPS stating that my packages were weighed properly and the dimensions added correctly so the charges could not have been for that and that they cannot simply charge my card without explanation. After my complaint went unanswered, I went to my bank and filed a complaint for unauthorized charges. My bank refunded my money, but now I know I cannot trust them anymore. It’s one thing to need to recover funds from customers who cheat on their package weights, but it’s another to charge a loyal customer who has been nothing but carefully honest and not respond to their concerns.
Update:
After seeing Shippo’s reply to my complaint, I never heard from anyone. I have the screenshot of my complaint and I have no problem providing that. There is no mention, however, as to why my account was charged 18.00 out of the blue. As per my initial complaint above, it clearly shows I am very familiar with how their billing works, as I literally recited it verbatim, regarding their charging your account weekly IF it is $100 or more. Again, my shipments for that month came up to $24.51, which had already been rightfully charged to my account. What they can’t seem to explain, even in the response, is why they came the following week and charged my account $18.00 for no apparent reason and after I emailed them requesting an explanation, I received no reply. There is no phone number to call so email is the only way to reach out. I did just that and the email was not returned as undelivered, so someone got it somewhere. My bank returned my funds after their own investigation, so clearly I was telling the truth and was able to show I had not sent any other packages. That said, I am not confident any efforts were made to resolve this matter, but making charges to someone’s account with no explanation is unacceptable. If there is a number to call or a fax number, I’m happy to call to provide proof that I submitted an email requesting an explanation for the unauthorized charge to my account after my invoice was paid in full.
Thank You,
Roberta

Hi Roberta,
Thanks for leaving us a review. We’re really sorry to hear about the issue you came across with the unexpected charge. Whenever our customers have any questions or concerns, it is our Support team's utmost priority to help out our customers as soon as possible. We had just taken a look in our database to dive into your issue further, and unfortunately do not see any ticket/inquiry that came in tied to your account which explains why you were not able to get in touch with anyone. Nonetheless, we want to address this concern of yours immediately and have brought this issue up to our team. Someone from Support will be reaching out to you shortly so you can understand where the charge came from. For possible future reference, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please reach out to [email protected] or submit a request through the "Contact Us" page located on our website.
Additionally, this does not relate to the unexpected charge you received, but we would simply like to provide some clarification in regards to our billing cycle for possible future reference as well. Our billing cycle is every 7 days or if your bill exceeds the billing threshold of $100, whichever comes first. We hope this information helps, and we really hope to see you around again on Shippo once this is resolved!
Update:
Hi Roberta,
We're really sorry to hear that you did not receive the email from our Support team on your end. Our Support team had reached out to you yesterday at 11:09AM from the email [email protected], a few minutes after we had published our response to your initial review. Do you mind checking your Spam/Junk folder to see if the email response ended up in there? Nonetheless, our team was able to determine the reason for the charge yesterday and included in the email response what caused the charge. To reiterate, it appears the charge was for an Address Correction Ground (not a dimensional surcharge). We completely understand that this may be frustrating to see, but unfortunately, surcharges issued by carriers (in this case, UPS) are out of Shippo's control. To help clarify, an Address Correction is applied when the recipient address on the label was incorrect or incomplete. When this happens, UPS will put in the effort to correct the address in order to deliver the package. There is an address validation tool on the UPS website (https://www.ups.com/address_validator/search?loc=en_US) , which can help to avoid this type of surcharge in the future.
You can learn more about surcharges within our Help Center article here (https://support.goshippo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004734443-Understanding-Surcharges). In order to avoid UPS surcharges in the future, please reference this link here (https://goshippo.com/blog/how-to-save-on-ups-surcharges/).
Again, we're very sorry for the inconvenience here from UPS and our team has gone ahead and reached out to the UPS team to find more details in regards to this Address Correction. Once they receive an update, they'll be informing you via [email protected].
If you prefer chatting with one of our Support members, please feel free to give us a call at your convenience at (415)-779-7447 and we would be happy to help with this and answer any other questions that you might have. We offer Phone Support M-F from 9-5 PST. If you call us outside of those hours or if we are unable to answer the phone, just leave us a voicemail and a member of our team will give you a call back as soon as possible or once our Phone Support hours resume again.
Thank you,
Shippo Support

Customer Service Lacks Customer Service
I haven't used Shippo yet, so the review isn't about that aspect. I haven't used them yet because I haven't gotten a response to talk to someone about their plans and their per label charge. The main complaints I read about this company is about the Customer Service. You know what they say about First Impressions. I'll stick with the company I use now. Apparently Shippo doesn't need the money or their CS people are that into doing CS.

SHIPPO CANNOT BE TRUSTED
BEWARE immediately after you sign up with SHIPPO they lock you account and tell you to contact support. After you contact support they tell you your account was flagged for security reasons. This is not actually true. They are doing this to all new users. But they make you feel like you are suspicious.
The support team will tell you you must provide a verifiable photo ID (driver license, passport etc.) in order to unlock your account.
They will tell you they do this to keep their customers safe.
I asked SHIPPO support and privacy team basic information about how they can ensure me that my personal information is safe, what data they keep on record from my ID, and how long they keep my data for.
The support and privacy team took 3 weeks to respond to me and they ignored my questions and simply told me they need to ID to keep customers safe and I don't have to be a customer if I don't want to be.
Dear Shippo,
Trust is a two way street.
If you want my ID to keep your customers safe,
Then you need to offer me some safety assurances around what you are doing with my personal data.
For all we know SHIPPO is selling your ID's on the black market. Their privacy statement mentions absolutely nothing about collecting user ID's nor what they do with the personal data.
Stay aware from this company if you do not want your identity stolen.
EDIT: IN RESPONSE TO SHIPPO REPLY
Firstly, I created two accounts and both were flagged to provide photo ID before ANY order were made. The comment from Shippo saying labels created over $100 get flagged is no true.
Secondly, after the many weeks of emailing, the response from Shippo here is the first time I have been advised that ID's are not stored.

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for leaving us a review. Here at Shippo, we do what we can to ensure that our users are protected as much as possible from potential financial or shipping fraud. We have different fraud blocks in place (for instance, first label purchase being over $100) that trigger a request for a photo ID to help verify your identity. The system we use to have photo IDs submitted is secure and once the ID is submitted, it's completely erased meaning we do not store this information.
We hope you understand these security measures we have in place to protect our users from fraud, and we hope to see you around on Shippo in the future.
Thank you,
Shippo Support

THIS IS A SCAM
THIS IS A SCAM. THEY TOOK ALL MY INFORMATION (ADRESS + PAYMENT+ CREDIT CARD) AND SAID THEY NEED MY ID PHOTO TO CONTINUE. THIS WEBSITE IS GATHERING YOUR INFORMATION. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Hi Habip,
Thanks for leaving us a review. Here at Shippo, we do what we can to ensure that our users are protected as much as possible from potential financial or shipping fraud. Since your first label purchase was over $100, we requested for a photo ID to help verify your identity since that’s a fraud block that we have in place. The system we use to have photo IDs submitted is secure and once the ID is submitted, it's completely erased meaning we do not store this information. Also, the $25 charge that you had seen was a pre-authorization charge that’s applied when a first label attempt is made. That said, we went ahead and canceled the hold since the label you attempted to make error’d out.
We hope you understand these security measures we have in place to protect our users from fraud, and we hope to see you around on Shippo in the future.
Thank you,

WATCH THE CHARGES ON YOUR CC
I not impressed with Shippo! I have used other discounted shipping vendors for quite a while with my WooCommerce WP site and when Shippo started advertising to me on social media I thought I'd give them a try. I was happy with my other vendors. I just wanted to see if perhaps my experience was more seamless from store to label, etc. Personally, I found Shippo's site to be more cumbersome than my other vendors who made label creation and quotes more effortless. I also could only add pounds and not ounces in Shippo or had to set the label rate weight up as a decimal, whereas Pirate Ship allows for both pounds and ounces and rounds as needed with the software. BUT HERE'S THE DEAL-BREAKER FOR ME WITH SHIPPO... They put a $25 charge on my CC for 7 days when I added a new card and then gave me some BS that it was to make certain I had a good card and could also cover the first label cost printed. SORRY but NO WAY IN HELL! A $1 hold charge on my card is acceptable to see if it is legit but NOT $25. So, let me get this straight -you sit on my money for 7 days until you tell me it is okay to accept you as a vendor (don't think so). SHIPPO got this all wrong and has lost my business forever based upon this stupidity of a business idea alone. What is their upper management thinking, is my question? Pirate Ship offers the same EXACT PRICING as Shippo and the platform is so much better too. THANK YOU PIRATE SHIP! You have a long term customer because like any business, I also have to watch my bottom line. Shippo loves to cut into your immediate cash flow and as a small business, $25 bucks is $25 bucks for somethnig as stupid as that kind of hold on a credit card. Use Pirate Ship or Parcel Monkey. I have used both with very much success in both great delivery and price and have never had issues with either or on any level. You're crazy is if you go with Shippo - GOOD LUCK!
UPDATE: What their CS FAILED to tell me is that they bill weekly and this is the reason for the initial $25 charge on a CC. Had they just led with that and been knowledgable to say that I would have totally understood the reason for such a higher charge over other companies. It is kind of nice to have the option to be billed weekly but that is not easily seen when you sign up for a Shippo account. There is a huge disconnect between communication with Shippo's CS and this can casue them to lose customers in my opinion. It drove me off until I truly understood. And understanding only came from a general auto email saying I would be billed when I either surpassed $25 worth of shipping or within a week. I hope Shippo can get it together as they are not as bad as my review initially stated. Even a follow up email and my frustration landed on another employee who still did nothing to touch upon my concerns or explain more. Therefore, Shippo still only gets two stars. If weekly billing is not somethnig you need go with Pirate Ship. They are the same exact prices and super easy. You can also import any WooCommere orders as well.

Excess UPS Charges
We have thoroughly enjoyed Shippo's all inclusiveness of multiple providers. Most of the time UPS meets our criteria the most.
We ship out long boxes but keep them under the UPS max length of 108".
We recently are getting hit with $1026.00 length exceeded charges for UPS shipments that are routinely costing <$100. We are now up to $3078 in charges - the most recent one proves this is erroneous. I received the $1026 charge for the overage, it is only 70" long AND THE PACKAGE HAS NOT EVEN BEEN PICKED UP YET - HOW DOES THAT WORK?!?!?!? And, there is no live body to contact at Shippo to remedy this. We now know that this is NOT a UPS initiated charge because UPS hasn't even gotten the package yet.
How are we to avoid this when we are clearly within the shipping limits of the packaging and still getting hit for $1000+ charges 10x+ over the shipping cost.
here is the receipt details....
