Bought a UPS label and $200 insurance from Shippo. Mail Boxes lost the package before they even put the label on the box. Two weeks later, I'm still wasting time "chatting" with a brain-dead Shippo bot. Shippo HQ doesn't answer calls either. Don't waste money and aggravation on this house of robots.

Extremely disappointed
Extremely disappointing experience with Shippo – think twice before using them
I would strongly caution anyone against using Shippo based on my experience.
I purchased postage through Shippo and, almost immediately after making the payment, my account was suspended. I had already paid for postage, yet I was suddenly unable to use the service I had just purchased.
I was then told that I needed to go through a lengthy verification/reactivation process. The additional information and requirements involved were not made sufficiently clear to me before I made the purchase. Had I known that I could be prevented from using postage immediately after paying for it, I would never have used Shippo in the first place.
What has made this even worse is the customer service. I contacted Shippo to request a full refund, but instead of receiving proper assistance, I have been met with automated responses that do not actually address my complaint or resolve the problem.
I have paid money for postage that I cannot use, and I am now being expected to spend more time jumping through hoops to reactivate an account that was suspended after I had already paid.
I need to send my post, so I have had no choice but to purchase replacement postage directly from Royal Mail. In other words, I have now had to pay for postage twice because of an issue with Shippo.
What is particularly frustrating is that Shippo's website states that customers will not be charged for labels they cannot use. Yet I have been charged for postage that I cannot use, and I am now having to fight to get my money back.
I have requested a FULL REFUND to my original payment method. I do not want Shippo credit, because after this experience I have no confidence in using the service again.
The whole experience has been incredibly frustrating, time-consuming and disappointing. A company should not take someone's money and then leave them unable to use the service they have paid for, while providing little more than automated responses when they ask for help.
If you're considering using Shippo, I strongly recommend that you look carefully into their account verification and suspension process before giving them your money.
I will update this review with the outcome of my refund request.

Hi Adam,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We understand how frustrating it must have been to have your account restricted after purchasing postage, particularly when you needed to ship your package promptly and had to purchase replacement postage elsewhere.
We also recognize your concerns regarding the verification process, the communication surrounding the account restriction, and your experience with our Support team. This is not the experience we want for our customers, and we understand why you would be disappointed.
We’d appreciate the opportunity to review your specific case and make sure your refund request is addressed appropriately. Because we cannot discuss account or payment details publicly, please reach out to our Support team with your account information or the ticket associated with this review so we can locate your case and take a closer look.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback regarding the verification process and customer support experience is valuable and will be shared with the appropriate teams.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, itis near impossible to get a response that isn't automated. When you do they do not read the ticket raised and give you a generic answer.

Warnung!
Warnung!
300€ einfach so weg.

Hello Jurij,
Thank you for sharing this, and we're truly sorry to hear about your experience with the return shipment. A package getting lost and ending up with a stranger is far from ideal, and we completely understand your frustration about the unclear responsibility between merchants, carriers, and platforms.
Return logistics involve multiple parties (the merchant, the carrier, and the platform), but that doesn't change the fact that you paid for shipping and your package didn't arrive as intended. We'd like to investigate what happened on our end and help clarify the situation.
I can see our Claims team is already looking into this one for you. We'll work to understand what happened and see what options are available on our side.
We appreciate your comments and thanks for bringing this matter to our attention.

Make sure you document like you're heading to trial...
If you use Shippo, make sure you take a photo of the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the package before you mail it. Oh, and make sure you take those photos with a tape measure next to the box to show the exact dimensions. And take a photo of the box on a scale. Because if you don't, and you declare the package size and weight, confirm it with the post office when you drop it off, receive a receipt to verify the information you provided - Shippo will STILL go ahead and make up new dimensions for your package, grossly overstate the package weight, and will charge you extra fees WELL AFTER the package was delivered. I recently shipped a 5 pound package, and three weeks later Shippo charged me an extra 30% of the total shipping cost - stating that my package was 11 pounds. Don't you think the post office would have caught that error instead of giving me a receipt saying my package weighed 5 pounds? But, joke's on me because I didn't take seven hundred photos of my package before I mailed it, and I didn't assume that Shippo was going to blatently lie and scam me. It's not about the extra shipping fee. It's the LIES. They won't refund me, even though my receipt confirms the package weight was indeed 5 pounds - not they're claiming the extra charge was because my box's dimensions were 1" larger than they actually were. Lesson learned, and account cancelled. Buyer beware, Shippo is a con artist.
*EDIT* After multiple emails back and forth with Shippo trying to resolve this to no avail, I wrote and posted this review. Hilarious that they respond asking for more information when they have everything they need to know right in front of them already. If we're asking for more info, do I get to ask for your proof that the dimensions and weight I provided (and verified with the post office upon dropoff) were incorrect? Oh, no? Just gotta take your word? Ok...
Hey Shippo, why don't you get the hint based on ALL the reviews your customers are posting about you ripping us off? I've used you multiple times to ship, and now you want to fight me over $5. I've now cancelled my account, posted this review, and they STILL don't care to "make it right". Nice customer service you've got there. Good luck staying in business.

Hi there,
I completely understand how receiving unexpected surcharges or additional charges on a shipment can be frustrating, particularly when those charges were not anticipated at the time the label was purchased. I’d be happy to review the charges with you and provide more context around why they were applied.
While these additional charges are assessed directly by the carrier, we want to make sure you have a clear understanding of the charges and that everything was applied correctly. If you’re willing to provide us with the tracking information associated with the charges, I’d be happy to take a closer look and reassess them with you.
We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and work toward providing some clarity around these charges.
Thank you,
MY

Absolutely terrible company
Absolutely terrible company, they tend to steal money from end customers by “adjusting” labels.
The dimensions were exactly as measured, along with weight. They decided to charge me triple the amount.

Random surcharges weeks later. Watch your card.
We push decent freight off our dock daily, but having Shippo hit our card three weeks after the fact for "box dimension audits" is pure nonsense. No phone number to call, just auto-replies over email while they hold your cash. The initial rate looked fine at checkout, but the back-end rebilling completely eats whatever margin you had left.
Response from ShippoSep 7, 2026
Rod,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how frustrating it is to see Carrier Adjustments hit your card weeks after shipment, especially when they impact your margins on orders you thought were already settled.
Post-delivery carrier adjustments (including dimension corrections) are applied by the carriers, not by Shippo, but we completely understand why that feels like a lack of transparency on your end. It's a real pain point for businesses.
We weren't able to locate your account based on the information in your review, but we'd welcome the chance to review what happened with your surcharges and see if there's anything we can do to help.

We appreciate your business and want to make sure you have the support you need.

Shipped a package through Shippo on…
Shipped a package through Shippo on August 13 via UPS Ground Saver. Three weeks later I find out — not from Shippo, from calling UPS myself — that USPS flagged it for unpaid postage and it's not being delivered at all.
Shippo sold me a $93.84 label that apparently wasn't enough, can't tell me what's actually owed, and offers zero fix. Their "solution" is a USPS email address and a shrug: "retrieval is not guaranteed." No refund, no accountability, no explanation for their own label failing.
If your label doesn't cover real shipping costs, that's on you to fix — not on your customer to go chase down a different company. Three weeks, no package, no money back, no answers.
Avoid Shippo if you actually need your shipment to arrive.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing this, and we're truly sorry for what you experienced. Not being notified about a delivery issue for three weeks is completely unacceptable, and we understand why you're frustrated with the lack of answers and accountability.
A UPS Ground Saver label with an unpaid postage flag from USPS is unusual, and it's the kind of issue we need to investigate properly. You deserved a clear explanation of what happened and real options when the problem was discovered — not just a referral and a shrug.
We'd like the opportunity to review exactly what happened with your shipment and your label. Please reach out to us with your tracking number so we can investigate fully:

We're sorry this fell through the cracks, and we want to understand what went wrong.
