We couldn't be happier with the Martin and everyone at Go Real Europe. We had a river cruise cancel two weeks before our departure date. Martin and his staff put together an amazing experience for us. Normally we would plan a trip like this ourselves but we had no time to do it. Communications was great as were the hotels and the guided and self guided tours. Transfers and travel were spot on and we never felt rushed. We would definitely use them again and will recommend them to friends and family.

GoOn your own risk, BeReal with your money
Go Real Europe had to get one of my very few negative reviews. First off, the service was good when they needed your business. Once the money was paid, service almost non-existent thereafter. My specific requests for hotel accommodation was not looked into. I had the rude shock of finding that out when I reach the hotel. I was specific to my agent the 2 things that would make or break my holiday, 1. People factor (understandably is not in anyone's control) 2. Hotel requirements. And I gave my agent specific needs for my accommodation. That was why I did not scrimp on my hotel budget with my agent. Unfortunately he blatantly ignored that need, because 2 out of the 3 hotels were exactly my nightmares. My gripe is if they could not find hotels for my specific requests, at least let me know beforehand. At least that would have been more accepting.
My emails were not promptly replied after payment and sure, my agent gave me some excuses for his lack of efficiency. I did not remember that lack just before I made any payment. I don't even want to start with the printed itinerary on Croatia but had to force myself to write this excruciating negative for the sake of the travelling community. I plan my own holidays on the usual basis but because I was busy with my home festivities, I thought why not pay a middleman agent to plan my holiday? Bad idea. I chanced upon Go real for it's rave reviews (wondering why). The itinerary was a shame to begin with and we hardly used it. We printed 60plus pages and hardly referred to it after a few days. Why? Because Croatia's tourism is seasonal and the offerings for winter is very different from summer. The itinerary included attractions good for summer and not winter. So many suggested itinerary was not useful for us at all. We were thankful that we had local guides to take us around on our trip and mind you, that's extras from our pocket. And then the wine tour I booked through Go Real. That's another bemoaning moment. I emailed my agent to try to put it on other days rather than the initial last day of the tour, no reply. By then, I resigned to the fact that I'm just down on luck that I booked through GoReal. And the most interesting part of the printed itinerary is there were a couple of free days to explore the old town of Dubrovnik (free I mean walking tours plus really free), most shops were not open during this season and basically it's empty and nothing much to do. I paid the GoReal for transfers, accommodation which I disliked, 2 walking tours and one wine tour (which I paid something like close to USD5K for 2 persons, not including food, airfare, additional day trips and transportation, in a low season) And most times, in many old towns you get free walking tours like the few I did in Czech and Italy. I understood from a local friend who paid only USD2500 for full board tour to Croatia in low season. And another associate divulged that USD4.5K can get you a reasonable good inclusive tours with airfare. All these information came too late.
When I was there, my problems were all troubleshot by myself, if not my local guide. Nothing much was done by Goreal except for the few emails. So having said all these, my advice is skip this company altogether and go direct to local agents in that country or plan it yourself with your own requirements. You will be better off with your time and money. The company got 1 extra point from my initial 1-pt rating because they did arrange good guides for the trip. That's about it anyway because you can also easily source them out in TripAdvisor which is free.

Hello Susan,
I am very sorry to hear that we did not deliver the perfect trip experience during your recent visit to Croatia.
We stand out for personalizing the trip to our customer needs and this time I am very sorry to hear that we weren’t able to deliver such a great experience according to our high standards. We do appreciate your time letting us know about your experience, and we will will take actions to avoid something so unfortunate happening again. If you contact me via email at [email protected] we can discuss how to make this up to you personally.
We believe you also deserve a formal apology and also a little more explanation of what happened:
1. With regards to the hotel in Plitvice, the only hotels available in the National Park are state run, so unfortunately they are a little antiquated. I am sorry you weren't happy with your experience there.
2. I understand that you had a particular request regarding the hotel rooms that was very important to you and which was not delivered in Split. This is also a failure on our part and I apologize for that.
3. After personally checking with your travel consultant, he confirmed that he missed your email regarding changing the date of the wine tour. There is also no excuse for this and he will be sending you a personal apology.
4. While there is certainly less to do in Croatia during the low season, we do include a lot of sights that can be visited during the low season in the itinerary information. We also provided seasonally relevant instructions for ferries and other logistics such as the appropriate routes in Plitvice Lakes. We will however, take your advice to heart and add more tips for the low season.
5. We try to ensure that our customers have all the relevant and detailed information about their destinations (how to go from point A to B, relevant background into, detailed transport directions, and more). We realize that this makes the itineraries very large and a little difficult to process. That’s why we are currently developing a mobile app that will allow you to more easily choose which information you want to access. I am sorry this was not ready for your trip.
With regards to the price of your trip, first let me clarify for readers of the review that the cost of the trip was $4014 rather than $5000 (for two people). The main driver of cost in your trip was the private guides and private drivers between the cities and to/from the airports. The side-trips included in the private transfers, such as to Bosnia, also added cost.
Once more I am very sorry for the oversights discussed above, and feel free to contact me to discuss how we can make it up to you.
Best regards,
David, CEO Go Real Europe

MUST READ - Seriously call Jared at Go Real Europe
Seriously, if you are looking for a hassle free, set & forget holiday, call Jared at Go Real Europe. I have never taken time to write a review, I have read a few, but I feel compelled to provide feedback, our family holiday was awesome. So easy to start the process via the web site & then fine tune. I thought it was a scam or gimmick to begin with but as we went along it just felt right & stress free. The accommodation locations are fantastic, the guided tours & transfers are easy & at your pace. We actually formed such a great relation ship that we socialized with the tour guides & Jared our travel agent. The guidance they provide is so well researched, they are there with you every step of the way, either at arms length or by your side when needed. Just cannot speak highly enough!

I am giving a 5 star review even though…
I am giving a 5 star review even though our airport pickup didn't happen. We are two separate parties arriving in Prague an hour apart. Something about the driver got into a car accident and no one showed up to pick the first party up. You would think after the failure to pick up the 1st party, they would've sent someone else for us but no. We ended up taking a cab after we called the travel company to find out what's going on. Not only did they reimburse us for the cab rides, they reimbursed us for the money we paid as part of the package for this transportation cost.
Since our travel started so poorly I was concerned. But everything else after the initial experience was great. I could not have asked for better hotel locations, tour guides, details they provided on the full itinerary of suggested things to do and how to get around was just great. Everyone we dealt with were professional and knowledgeable. The taste of Vienna was amazing. it was much better than we expected. All of the tours we did were great. Service was awesome. Highly recommend them.

First rate
First rate. Even with a couple of last minute changes and fearing missed connections, they were right there with answers by text, email and phone. Directions they provided were great and advice about activities were spot on. I hope they expand their territory to include other spots we have interest in. Would work with them again in a heartbeat.

Great service!
Great service!
The staff is super helpful. Myles provided me with very good advice and insights for my trip.
Having the hotels booked and incredibly well located, the train tickets and the public transportation tickets in advance, made my trip super easy and relaxing. No need to worry about anything.
I took a private tour in Prague; very informative. It was very enjoyable and the lady was very helpful. She gave me great insights.
I decided to do the free waliking tours in the other cities I visited, and I enjoyed those very much as well.
The details provided in the pdf are amazing, however 100 pages to carry with me was not a good idea. I downloaded the pdf in my cell phone, and I checked it sometimes. I Think a map that can be dowloaded to check offline, with coments and instructions would very much convenient to use.
I definitively recomed go real europe!

Great trip with Go Real Europe!
On our last trip to Europe we did our own arrangements for Airbnb lodgings and transportation. There was some drama associated with both, so we thought for our next trip to Prague/Vienna/Budapest we’d try leaving it all in the hands of a professional.
But traditional tours all seemed too constraining. We loathe the idea of being herded around in a crowd of Americans and never having much time in any given location. We thought that Go Real Europe was an effective compromise, and that proved to be very much the case.
The list of cities that GRE serves inspired us to add Český Krumlov and Salzburg as almost impulse buys. We probably wouldn’t have done that if we had been responsible for figuring out the transportation ourselves. GRE guaranteed that every move was absolutely painless. They gave us an envelope of public transit tickets for every city, every train booking was first rate, and every transfer was easy and often another source of a great conversation with a local. As it turned out, the plan of staying only one or two nights in a city, long considered a rookie traveler move, did not seem rushed or ill-advised at all.
Every hotel was thoughtfully located. In Prague, we stayed in a calm district across the Charles Bridge from the tourist chaos of the Old Square. Conversely, we would walk out the door at night in Budapest and be surrounded by a vibrant nightlife that seemed to be more local than tourist based. Yet there was no sleep-disturbing noise inside of the hotel.
I shudder every time I see a tour group following a guide holding up an umbrella and talking to them through ear buds. GRE provided us with our own personal guide, and it was absolutely one of the best benefits of going through GRE. Each guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and it always felt like we were spending a couple of hours with a new friend in each city. They were able to share personal anecdotes in addition to having significant knowledge of local history.
In addition, we ended up with a 140 page PDF comprised mostly of proposed individual excursions, some out of the city. They were so highly personalized that they literally start on the doorstep of your hotel and take you in considerable detail (walk-300-yards-and turn-left-at-the-yellow-building) to your destination and back.
We were surprised to learn that the maps they provided were not generic travel maps, but rather ones that GRE had created, loaded with their own recommendations. They proved to be a very valuable resource.
We did have a few difficulties with our trip, by no fault of GRE. There was a heat wave that was oppressive at the beginning and end of our trip. We live in Florida, so we are no stranger to hot weather, but here we have air conditioning everywhere, from home to car to work or store, and water fountains. AC is somewhat rare (the Prague hotel didn’t have it) and usually of low power in Europe.
The heat was part of the reason that we failed to last through the opera that we attended in Prague. In general, I would recommend avoiding any event that requires bringing more formal clothes. We travel very light with just one carry-on, and we could have used the space to better advantage. In a heat wave, a coat and tie is very problematic.
But going through GRE is a very pleasurable and rational way to see Europe. You are on your own in many ways, happily so, but people appear when appropriate to enhance your journey. The fact that GRE is expanding their covered cities to include Heidelberg, Florence, Cinque Terra, Zurich, Amsterdam, Brussels, etc., is a testament to their successful vision and diligence. I very much recommend that you consider them as your travel planner.
