My dog was injured by another dog over three years before I filed a claim. I kept hoping the other party (a part time resident) would pick up the expenses for the damage inflicted, but, by the time I realized it was a lost cause, the statute of limitations expired for this kind of claim in my locality. I checked with petplan when I called on another issue and to my amazement they suggested I file a claim which I did...and which they paid! I am truly grateful for their tolerance in my slow action to file, but this reinforces the high esteem I hold them in. Thanks again.

Petplan has great customer service. They're very responsive and it's easy to submit claims. Getting coverage for our dog's ACL surgery and rehab was a huge relief and the whole reason to have pet insurance!

Having been with PetPlan for several years with multiple pets I can tell you first had that the folks at PetPlan provide superior customer service. Claims are processed promptly and if questions do arise a customer service agent is easily available. All of the agents I have worked with have been excellent but I would be remiss if I did not point out that Amy Bellingrath, with whom I have worked with over the past several years, has been particularly outstanding. The peace of mind provided by PetPlan is invaluable.

I found out about Petplan at my vet's office and signed up because I felt it was very reasonable. A year or so later my beloved Dudley became very sick and needed major surgery. I conferred with my vet and with my friend at Petplan, Amy Bellingrath. She was at my side during the whole ordeal, and although Petplan could have recommended less expensive solutions, Amy went for the most scientific and advanced. I am constantly impressed with the philosophy of Petplan and its insistence that pet ownership is serious, but great fun. I have referred the company to family and friends, and I am always grateful to Petplan and my friend Amy for their support.

I was really upset when my girlfriend switched our 9 year old German Shepherd from VPI over to Petplan and I found out that their silver policy was almost thousand dollars a year even with 20% copay and a $200 deductible. I thought that was a lot of money for an incredibly healthy, athletic, sporting dog. The worst thing in his past is a couple wart removals and a dog bite. However, within the first couple months, he woke up one night in a lot of pain and we had to rush him to the emergency room. The ER visit, consultation with the Neurologist, an MRI, a consultation with the Surgeon, and surgery to repair 3 ruptured discs, and we had racked up a bill for around $8,500 within 3 days, but no stress because we had insurance. In all the chaos I forgot we had switched and was freaking out when I looked at our VPI papers and found out that, assuming it's not denied because of his breed to they would only paid for about $2,600 of our bill, and the next 3 to 6 months of rehab are out of our pockets! Thank God Petplan doesn't use the limit list, because they sent us a check for $6,700! we even upgraded our policy and now his rehab and medication is covered at 100%. 100%!!! We are now a couple months in, and he is doing SO well, and Petplan is still sending us checks every week for his therapy sessions. Our bills have hit 5 digits by now, and all we paid was the $1,800 from the copay in the beginning. We love our baby and don't question maxing out credit cards to pay for the vet, but $10,000 is a TON of money we don't have. We recently added a few more pets to our family and our policy, because after all this, we'll never be without Petplan. Thank you Petplan, we couldn't have done it without you!

It's good to know our dog's care can be a choice based on what makes sense, not simply dollars. I trust that Petplan will make some Vet visits a little easier.

I have my 2nd dog insured with Pet Plan. My vet told me they were easy to work with and since my Bella is just a pup there were no preexisting conditions that would not be covered. The customer service is really nice and you can tell they love animals and their job. My other dog is older and too many issues so not going to get it for her though.

I don't usually write reviews, but the few times I've had to call Petplan with an issue, the customer service has been amazing. The sweet girl that I talked to the last time even asked how my cat was doing after her procedure!
