We had a great experience with Golden Gate Relocation. The movers were friendly and super efficient! The staff was communicative leading up to the move and while they were packing up our stuff. I would absolutely recommend!

I would never book with them again or recommend them to anyone
They deserve zero stars!
DON’T TRUST ANY OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS!!! they were probably faked to up their rating, literally any other moving company would be better than this one!
During my initial conversation with the sales person, I stated that I wanted my goods to arrive at their destination by 5/25. My goods were picked 5/17 and at the time of this review (5/31), my goods haven’t even left California yet. Every time I call to get some answers as to when my good will be delivered, all they say is that it takes 2-14es us for goods to be delivered based on the miles it has to cover. But how can I exact to start the 2-14 day countdown if after a week of my first available delivery date (5/25), they still haven’t assigned my goods to a delivery route. I’ve called customer service everyday since 5/25 and like always, they say “delivery routes are being assigned everyday and once we assign yours you’ll receive confirmation”. My main question is if you have delivery routes going out everyday, why is it taking so long to assign my delivery? I need my furniture because I’m having guests come into town but now I don’t think I’ll even get it before the end of June
Also expect the actual price to be way more than the quoted price. On the day of the delivery, I was very surprised was my final price was over $1,000 more than what the estimate quoted me. I very specifically told the sales person who provided with the quote that I was using a 10x10 storage unit and even included a very detailed inventory list of everything in the unit. By the time the movers came, the same 10x10 unit (that was only about 70% full) was priced way higher than the quote.
Update: I have finally received my goods but I’m so disappointed in this company. First, I’m missing some of my items. Second, the clear plastic bins I used to pack most of my items were damaged, scuffed up, lids cracked beyond repair and one of the handles broken. Third, in on of the plastic bins I did receive, I noticed that some of my items were stolen, mostly my expensive perfumes. The proof??? They were dumb enough to leave the cap to one of the perfume bottles in the box.

We are very sorry that the client did not read the following information on any of her documents :
1.) estimate contracting us to move her goods states:
* PICK UP AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE: Pickup and delivery dates are not guaranteed unless the optional Premium Guaranteed Service (P.G.S.) is purchased. Standard Service (S.S.) period is up to a maximum of thirty business weekdays, not including storage time, beginning on the first date indicated as available for delivery (not the date of pickup). The date indicated as 1st available for delivery is the first date of the delivery window and not the promised delivery date. Golden Gate Relocation estimated delivery period is up to thirty business days from the date indicated as first available for delivery. All the Estimated time of arrivals are subject to change depending on many industry factors such as traffic, weather conditions, unforeseen mechanical problems or unexpected services to be rendered with orders scheduled before you (mostly applies on second, third or fourth shifts). Note: Golden Gate Relocation will not discount any account due to any delays listed above. We will keep the customer informed verbally on the move date with a new/revised ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) depending on our schedule.
and again:
*All Long Distance delivery services are made on a flexible basis with an estimated arrival time:
0 - 500 miles: 0 - 6 business days.
501 - 1000 miles: 1 - 10 business days.
1001 - 1500 miles: 2 - 14 business days.
1501 - 3300 miles: 3 - 21 business days.
2.) Welcome email sent on 4/22 and she booked with us on 4/20 which states:
* FADD “First Available Delivery Date” - This is the day you provide to us as the FIRST day you are available for delivery. This is when your ESTIMATED delivery window will begin, this is based on your moves distance as follows:
0 - 500 miles: 0 - 6 business days.
501 - 1000 miles: 1 - 10 business days.
1001 - 1500 miles: 2 - 14 business days.
1501 - 3300 miles: 3 - 21 business days.
3.) Her verification call and email on 5/16 when she verbally spoke to customer service on a recorded line and was sent an email confirming the FADD she provided. It states:
*Once we pick you up, your items will be delivered based on your first available delivery date (FADD) which you said is 5/25
All Long Distance delivery services are made on a flexible basis with an estimated arrival time starting from the first available delivery date:
· 0 - 500 miles: 0 - 6 business days
· 501 - 1000 miles: 1 - 10 business days
· 1001 - 1500 miles: 2 - 14 business
· 1501 - 3300 miles: 3-21 business days
GGR is not responsible for client's lack of understanding the terms of her estimate. It was disclosed several times to her verbally and in writing.

We had an amazing move out with this…
Edit #2:
I appreciate the gaslighting. I'll use it to fuel my regret.
1&2) As I said before; we signed and paid whatever it took - our stuff was already on the truck... You're right. I should have known how much square footage our packed things were. Next time I'll measure and weigh everything before it's moved and never trust the initial estimate based on your representative who is supposed to be more experienced than a dumb customer.
3) I know exactly how much I contacted customer service. I initiated contact! I asked for updates consistently. I didn't get updates unless I asked for them. You're right. There was contact with customer service. I should have just enjoyed the radio silence instead of reaching out because I bet that was annoying! A stupid customer asking for basic status updates! OMG Ill make sure to keep my questions to myself next time. I love being in the dark about where everything I own is!
4) Compensation for pennies on the dollar based on weight. You're right. Its my fault that we won't be able to replace our things. I should have read the paperwork. Of course we are still missing things that were in the bill of lading. But I don't know how to read paperwork...
5) You're right. It's my fault for my bad experience.
Edit:
I trusted this company with everything I own. My things are broken. We are missing our gaming console. I am ashamed to have trusted this company.
Starting with pick up - the packing list was incomplete and everything was already on the truck by the time we got the total cost. Our things were stickered with # but there's no log of what # sticker goes with what piece. At no point during the packing process were we told what the additional cost would be for going over the estimated space. Only after everything was loaded did we get the cost. What were we going to do? Not pay the additional 2k?
During the moving process - not once was the company proactive about giving updates. Regarding the wire transfer NFCU advised against sending money. But we needed to pay to get our stuff and we had maxed out zelle $3k already.
After the move - we didn't move much furniture but the stuff we did move arrived broken. Both dressers. The bookshelf - feet snapped off but still tapped together with the tape and paper. And we will not be receiving compensation because we were stupid enough to not read what we signed when our stuff was picked up.
They were responsible for moving everything I owned. Truthfully, I am ashamed to have ever trusted them with anything I own. I'm not going to accept the - "we're sorry for your experience but- you didn't read the paperwork before you signed, you should have been aware of what you had to pay, you had more stuff than your estimate, you contacted our customer service outside of business hours... Etc." If the company reaches out about this I'm prepared with more screenshots and phone records to dispute what I need to.
The movers who physically moved our things were the only good part of this move.

The client is incorrect on several points:
1.) She was provided with a revised estimate at the time the foreman arrived to begin the move and she signed off.
2.) The client's quote was for 26 items/57 pieces. At the time of pick up the client added items not included in her estimate. You pay for the cubic footage you use on the truck and the client used more space and was charged for that space but she did agree in writing.
3.) Company notes shows contact via call text or email with the client after booking on 4/29/2024 on *4/30 welcome email *5/14 customer service via text, *5/16 via call and email verification call and email, *5/17 twice on 5/17 with sales rep and customer service, *5/20 SEVEN texts with customer service , *5/21 two texts with customer service, * 5/24 two texts with C.S., *5/26 two texts with C.S. , 5/27 text with C.S. ,* four texts and emails with C.S. , 5/31 two texts from C.S. and finally 6/1 (weekend) two texts with C.S. Looks like a lot of contact with GGR.
4.) the client will received compensation if she reads and follows the terms of her estimate and files a claim.
Golden Gate Relocation is sorry the client did not at any point in her move refer to her move documents.
