Costly mistake hiring this company. Was lied to from the start, given verbal delivery dates but was told they were not guaranteed because he Steven didn't say "he Promised". Our load was picked up Jun13th with a first delivery date of Jun16th. It didn’t arrive until July8th even though Steven assured in writing that it would arrive sooner. My 1,000lb tool box was delivered to GA instead of MN with my load. I was told it would arrive in 7-10 days by Whitney. By July 31st, 25 phone calls with only 5 being returned I still wasn't been given any information on when the tool box will be delivered. Then Whitney told me that they were working on it and that it would be picked up later in the week(Aug 1st-4th)as well as a photo of my tool box and an address in GA of the house it had been delivered to. She said it would be shipped back to CA. I drove to CA to pick up the toolbox and bring it home myself. I arrived in CA and called Whitney on Mon, Aug. 7th and was told it still hadn’t been picked up yet with no other explanation. She then told me later the truck had mechanical issues. Aug14th, no phone call from Whitney as to when it will be picked up. I was told by GGR that I could hire another company to make the delivery and that I would be reimbursed. I spoke to Michael who instructed me to write an email addressed to info@g*********relo.com so the whole company would see and possibly get a response, it was ignored. I have been told by different employees of GGR. that I've been too understanding in this situation and I see that it is not benefiting me in any way as far as getting my property returned. Whitney gave me the contact information on their client who had the toolbox and I had to hire a second trucking company to pick up and deliver the tool box to my address, costing me an additional $1,000 on top of what I had already paid them. GGR denied my claim for all the damaged and missing items And denied offering to reimburse me for having to hire a second truck.

Do Not Use This Company
Do Not Use this company ever! They are crooks and bait and switch you! At first before they have your money they seem great, but once you have started payment they hold your things hostage until you pay in full without even receiving your items. I was not informed until after they already had my items about extra fees such as an additional $1,700 for transferring my items from a semi truck to box truck after “the driver looked up my address and determined that the semi could not get to my house”. I was never informed ahead of time that my items were going to be moved 5 times in total! Initially loaded into a box truck, moved from a box truck to storage where they sat over a week, then moved into a semi truck, back into storage, then transferred back into another box truck and finally moved into my home. They charged in total about $14,000 to move from San Diego to Minnesota and upon arrival I see that almost all of my furniture items that were all packed and wrapped by their movers were either heavily damaged or completely ruined beyond repair! They caused about $7,000 worth of damages and take no responsibility. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!

GGR is indeed sorry the client did not read any of the documents she signed and was provided in reference to her contracted move with us.
1.) The contract clearly states final payment due: " Upon Loading for delivery, the balance is due in the form of Wire Transfer or Zelle before truck leaves origin state. The truck will not be unloaded until the balance is paid in full."
2.) The client's contract also clearly states: "Shuttle service (varies): A shuttle is required at destination points that cannot accept an 18- wheel semi-trailer. Most situations don't require a shuttle, however, if it is required, it will be charged at the $1/cubic foot to transfer your items, with a minimum of $350.00."
3.) The contract clearly states "All Long Distance delivery services are made on a flexible basis with an estimated arrival time:
0 - 500 miles: 0 - 6 business days.
501 - 1000 miles: 1 - 10 business days.
1001 - 1500 miles: 2 - 14 business days.
1501 - 3300 miles: 3 - 21 business days."
PICK UP AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE: Pickup and delivery dates are not guaranteed unless the optional Premium Guaranteed Service (P.G.S.) is purchased. Standard Service (S.S.) period is up to a maximum of thirty business weekdays, not including storage time, beginning on the first date indicated as available for delivery (not the date of pickup). The date indicated as 1st available for delivery is the first date of the delivery window and not the promised delivery date. Golden Gate Relocation estimated delivery period is up to thirty business days from the date indicated as first available for delivery. All the Estimated time of arrivals are subject to change depending on many industry factors such as traffic, weather conditions, unforeseen mechanical problems or unexpected services to be rendered with orders scheduled before you (mostly applies on second, third or fourth shifts). Note: Golden Gate Relocation will not discount any account due to any delays listed above. We will keep the customer informed verbally on the move date with a new/revised ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) depending on our schedule.
4.) The client is welcome to file a claim again the terms are clearly stated in the signed contract " CLAIM FILING PROCEDURE: As per company TERMS AND CONDITIONS, in the unlikely event a customer realizes that some of their goods are damaged or missing, or if they feel that they have been over-charged or charged for services that they didn't receive prior, during or after services were completed, all customers FULLY understand that they MUST initially give the service provider (Golden Gate Relocation) the FIRST RIGHT to fully investigate and respond in writing with a resolution to their issues.
To do so, please contact our claims and customer retention Processing Company at www.movingclaims.net NOTE: In the event, you are not satisfied when a resolution is made to your claim/complaint against the company, ONLY THEN you may contact any state, city, government, insurance, and consumer group such as the public, media organization, internet website or credit card agency
By placing a deposit with Golden Gate Relocation, I am agreeing to the Terms & Conditions stated above. "
It seems obvious the client did not at any point read the terms of her contract for services.

Worst moving experience ever
Worst moving experience ever. Sales team was super reassuring about "no hidden fees", "we're not a broker", etc, etc. First, they assign you primary and secondary moving dates. So if you need a specific day, good luck. They pushed our primary Saturday to Sunday which made us pretty nervous. We decided to rent a UHaul and start moving smaller item and boxes ourselves to get ahead of any potential problems. By time they showed up on Sunday at 11am (keep in mind this is enough furniture for a 4BR house), we'd already moved roughly 75% of the items ourselves. I confirmed with the sales department that the foreman would make the item adjustments once they arrived. The guy tells us he needs to add additional dollars on for stairs and extra bulk items and then we can pay the full estimate plus these extra charges and they can get started. I finally force him to provide a new moving quote based on the 75% fewer items that are now in the house, and he creates a quote that's HIGHER than the initial intake!! Needless to say we sent them on their way, and I can only imagine that the quote would've doubled if we hadn't moved anything ourselves. On top of all of it, the company refuses to refund our $1100 deposit. Easily the worst moving experience of my life. My wife and I rented another UHaul and hired a couple of guys in the Home Depot parking lot who were excellent help, hard workers, and super friendly. Thank goodness it was a local move we were able to handle ourselves.

Golden Gate Relocation is sorry that the client feels we were not transparent in his move. However, the client made several changes in his inventory and in doing so altered the terms of his estimate. The client will always be charged for the space they take on the truck.

This company only delivered half my household goods. They say they “forgot” to load the other half onto the truck. It has been over a month with no delivery date promised. I strongly encourage you NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY. They do NOT perform as promised and there is NO RECOURSE

The client is mistaken. She was advised of this 20 minutes before she posted this. The goods have been loaded and are out for delivery.

I had a good experience with Golden Gate. There was so instances of not being able to get ahold of customer service but they always responded. Other than that, the pick up and delivery process was pretty smooth. I highly recommend having cash on hand to pay because Zelle can sometimes be difficult.
I was also wanted to give a special shout out to Marcos and Leo who did the delivery. These guys were awesome! They went over and beyond especially dealing with putting my bed together. They wanted to make sure my furniture was put back together solid before leaving and I truly appreciate them doing that.

Avoid, avoid, avoid
This is going to be a drop in the bucket compared to the BS fake reviews on here, but here goes. This company is a scam, and moving insurance companies will not cover moves with them (I tried to buy a policy with multiple agencies and they will not cover GGR). Sales reps will underestimate your belongings, only for the foreman to say there's way more stuff than what we estimated, charging you significantly more than the estimate, effectively holding you hostage. The sales rep will then give you an overinflated ballpark of when you'll get your stuff back instead of what is contractually signed to. The movers themselves are subcontracted, and do not keep track of what your items are in the bill of lading. Then, when your stuff finally gets to your destination, the delivery movers (half of whom no-show) won't even carry the tools needed to build the furniture they disassembled, meaning you have to ask your neighbors to borrow theirs and mostly do it yourself.
I'm fortunate. The only thing missing from our stuff was an empty carry-on suitcase I never used anyway, and there were a few broken items, but minor in scope. The only communication you get from them is from their call center in the Philippines wanting to complete a survey. I told them what I'll say here: "you don't want to hear my survey." This company is a scam. Go with anyone else who the moving insurance companies will cover.

This is a fake review. The name used is an employee of the company and not a client and there is no email address that would tie this client to a move we have facilitated. The comments in the review are inaccurate to say the least. GGR is always receptive to reviews and our clients freedom to post BUT post under your real name!

Final Delivery Sucked.
PART ONE
Golden Gate Relocation did a remarkable job IN THE BEGINNING. They were the very first company to provide us with a fair estimate and their Sales Rep, Scottie did an outstanding job of communicating and explaining every little detail. The thing we liked the most was that he encouraged us to call with any questions we had, and never made us feel that we were a bother. He always had a positive attitude and told us to be in close communication.
The lady who called us to set up a schedule was efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with.
THE FIRST MOVING TEAM in California arrived on time with a positive attitude and took great care wrapping furniture for a safe move. The foreman did an excellent job taking inventory of each item. They were efficient and very quick. In addition, they were polite and friendly and were easy to talk with.
EDIT October 8,2024
I have tried to be fair by stating GGR's strengths as well as weaknesses.
The first part of our moving was great. The sales and pick up people were very good as stated above.
The second part, (that is WHEN WE HAD OUR STUFF DELIVERED) was like a moving day from hell. They broke a kitchen chair beyond repair, did not re-assemble a table as promised in the contract. Our 2-wheel dolly was (conveniently?) "lost."
A deck box was busted open and hidden along the side of the house so they didn't have to deal with the problem. By the way, GGR WERE NOT THE MOVERS WHO DELIVERED IT! They were subcontractors who didn't give a damn. We were never told that another company would deliver. I was told from the get-go that GGR are not brokers. So what the heck?! In order to be reimbursed I visited a separate web site and learned that I have to do stuff that I don't know how to do, and don't understand. My husband's now in hospice, and I'm supposed to diddle around with this crap? Thanks a lot GGR.
