The moving company broke several of my things, including a 75"TV that cost $1400. All in all, the damage amount was about half the cost of the move. The amount they offered to pay for the damage to all my things: $102. If you have to go with this company, make sure you purchase additional insurance. Or better yet, go with another company that will make sure they move fragile items carefully. I should have just sold my things before I moved and got new ones once I got here. Lesson learned.

We are already disappointed with the price bait and switch. Now I am worried I will not get my belongings as promised. This is typical of these crooked moving companies. We were assured in writing that it would not increase. They were very quick to add 50%.

PART ONE Golden Gate Relocation did a remarkable job IN THE BEGINNING. They were the very first company to provide us with a fair estimate and their Sales Rep, Scottie did an outstanding job of communicating and explaining every little detail. The thing we liked the most was that he encouraged us to call with any questions we had, and never made us feel that we were a bother. He always had a positive attitude and told us to be in close communication. The lady who called us to set up a schedule was efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with. THE FIRST MOVING TEAM in California arrived on time with a positive attitude and took great care wrapping furniture for a safe move. The foreman did an excellent job taking inventory of each item. They were efficient and very quick. In addition, they were polite and friendly and were easy to talk with. EDIT October 8,2024 I have tried to be fair by stating GGR's strengths as well as weaknesses. The first part of our moving was great. The sales and pick up people were very good as stated above. The second part, (that is WHEN WE HAD OUR STUFF DELIVERED) was like a moving day from hell. They broke a kitchen chair beyond repair, did not re-assemble a table as promised in the contract. Our 2-wheel dolly was (conveniently?) "lost." A deck box was busted open and hidden along the side of the house so they didn't have to deal with the problem. By the way, GGR WERE NOT THE MOVERS WHO DELIVERED IT! They were subcontractors who didn't give a damn. We were never told that another company would deliver. I was told from the get-go that GGR are not brokers. So what the heck?! In order to be reimbursed I visited a separate web site and learned that I have to do stuff that I don't know how to do, and don't understand. My husband's now in hospice, and I'm supposed to diddle around with this crap? Thanks a lot GGR.
