I thought it was a great idea to have salads handy like daily! The salads are too big for one person and I couldn't eat fast enough before the lettuce went wilt. I'm throwing two and a half out. They are not inexpensive and shipping is around $23.

Thank you for giving Gardencup a try and sharing your feedback! We’re glad you loved the idea of having fresh, convenient meals on hand, but we’re sorry the experience didn’t quite meet your expectations. Our cups are designed to be satisfying, complete meals, though we understand portion sizes and meal schedules can vary from person to person. We always recommend enjoying your cups within their freshness window for the best quality and taste (up to six days after delivery). We also understand that shipping costs are an important consideration, and we appreciate you sharing that feedback. We’re always looking for ways to improve the experience for our customers!

Nothing like what you see…
The amount of meat that you see on the advertisement and site is not what you receive. They skimp you on the meat and pack the jar with lettuce. I wish I could post the picture here.

We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with the portion of protein you received. Our products are portioned according to each recipe, and we definitely want what arrives at your door to reflect what you expect from us. We’d be happy to take a look at the photo and your specific order. Please reach out to our customer care team so we can look into this for you when you email [email protected]! 💚

Enjoying not having to create salads
I have really enjoyed the different salads that I have been ordering through garden cup. I’m a little bit IT illiterate so I have struggled with the website, but their customer support service has been so generous and helping me when I’ve accidentally ordered twice. I think you will really enjoy the salads and the add-ons of which I’ve only tried the Chia pudding, which was fabulous.

Unhealthy Salads (Saturated Fats) and Unauthorized Charges
I was really liking the salads, but then I read the nutrition labels online and THESE SALADS ARE HORRIBLE FOR YOU!!!! They have a crazy amount of saturated fats!! After realizing this I immediately cancelled my subscription. However, they still charged me and sent another delivery that I did not authorize. I contacted customer service for a refund since I cancelled a FULL WEEK before the salads for the next order would have even been made/shipped and they refused! I kept getting the same canned response over and over again. Basically just getting brushed off.
Bottom line is…
- customer service is terrible
- and seriously go read the nutrition info for yourself and see just how UNHEALTHY these salads are for you.

Our meals are designed to provide a balance of protein, healthy fats, fiber, and fresh ingredients to help keep you satisfied. Saturated fat levels can vary depending on the recipe and ingredients used, and we always provide complete nutrition information on our website so customers can make the choices that best fit their dietary needs. We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with your customer service experience. We strive to be fair and transparent with our subscription policies, and we never want anyone to feel like they’re being brushed off. If there was any misunderstanding regarding your cancellation timing, we’d be happy to take another look. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your order details so we can review your account and see if there’s anything further we can do. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving both our products and our customer experience!

Refused to disclose sourcing - initially
We enjoyed Gardencup's salads for several months. However, I emailed them this week to ask where they source their ingredients due to concerns for the Cryptosporidiosis outbreak. They dodged the question for a few emails, then finally said they were unable to disclose their food sourcing. What? That is shady at best. I have one box coming this week already, and then I am canceling. Very poor practice to not be transparent about where ingredients are sourced.
Edited to add - their corporate response to this review is the same response they kept pushing in the emails. If they know that their suppliers are abiding by standards and guidelines in the food industry, why can't they share their sourcing? Is it because consumers might not like the answer? We can only guess as they will not disclose. Too bad. We really did enjoy their salads, so if people aren't worried about where their food comes from, by all means, give them a try. We typically had good service up to this point.
Last edit - after we asked for labels to "cupcycle" our numerous empty cups, I finally got an email with the sourcing info. I appreciate the transparency, though I am a wee bit salty that it wasn't so easily provided. We are sticking with Gardencup for a while going forward because we like their salads and I do appreciate the convenience and ultimate forthcoming-ness. Changed stars from 2 to 4.

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand why food safety and ingredient sourcing are important, and we’d like to provide some additional context. The safety and quality of our food remain our highest priority. We source our ingredients exclusively from approved suppliers that meet applicable federal, state, and local food safety requirements. At this time, neither the FDA, CDC, our suppliers, nor our distribution partners have identified any ingredients, growers, processors, distribution centers, or lot numbers associated with our supply chain as part of the current investigation. We continue to closely monitor updates from regulatory agencies and work with our supplier partners to ensure the highest food safety standards are maintained. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear you’ve decided to cancel. If you have any additional questions, our team is always happy to help when you reach out to [email protected].

Failure to deliver on my first order
I was a first time customer, and even signed up for weekly auto-renewal. My first order still has not arrived day 2 after its expected arrival. I am only leaving 2 stars, because customer service did actually communicate with me. However, it's been two days. I haven't recieved the product. No matter how cold its packaged, salad is perishable and meant to be consumed in a timely fashion. I don't know what that says about freshness. I live in Dallas Fort Worth, where the company is headquartered. This should have been a layup. Beware - this company uses a shipping courier named Veho; who uses gig delivery drivers. Not an official courier. It's about as dependable as Door Dash.

Hi, thank you for giving Gardencup a try and for taking the time to share your experience. We're so sorry your first order didn't arrive as expected especially after signing up for a subscription. We completely understand how frustrating that is.
While we're glad our customer care team has been in touch, we know that doesn't make up for the delay. Freshness is incredibly important to us, and our meals are packed with insulated packaging and ice packs designed to keep them cold during transit. That said, shipping delays are never the experience we want for our customers.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the delivery experience, as it helps us continue improving. If you haven't already, please continue working with our Customer Care team at [email protected] so we can make this right for you.
We hope we'll have the opportunity to provide you with the experience we intended.

Gardencup’s Excellent Resolution of my Issue
My order was delayed and the ice had completely melted and the box/salads were warm. I notified Gardencup about the issue and they were very responsive and after sending photos of my wilted salads, i received a full refund. No fuss about it! Great customer service and responsive answers to my emals!
