HARD LESSON LEARNED BY EXPERIENCE
In researching linens online in several sites, I thought I'd found the most beautiful Italian print duvet cover and matching shams; friends to whom I'd sent the photos of this discovery agreed that the bold primary color floral design on white background, "Watercolor Flowers", was amazing! On 04/03/15, I placed my order online, received the delivery in a few days [04/07/15], and opened it with anticipated excitement with friends who happened to be visiting. My dreams were dashed at first site...the background, which [in every photo] looks WHITE, was not even cream or off-white, but a beige that [even to my friends] appeared "dirty" against the bold primary colored floral print! I had also ordered two standard shams which, in this case, were designed in such a way that a pillow is placed inside one-half of this double-sided sham, after which the other half of the printed material folds over the stuffed pillow. This design, in my perception, is absolutely ridiculous [a waste of very expensive material and a waste of time required of the folded section to be straightened each day, etc.] I had been delighted to pay $500 + for this new bedroom linen set; however, on noting the above issues, my shock trumped immediate disappointment. I called Fine Linens. When I phoned and spoke with my Contact, Steven Hirsch [212-737-0520] at Fine Linens, I stated the above-referenced unacceptable issues, and inquired how I might receive prepaid return postage. Mr. Hirsch advised that Fine Linens does not pay for return postage, to which I said that, in my experience, several online companies I use include prepaid return postage. His matter-of-fact response was, "If you placed the order, and got what you ordered but don't like it, why should we pay for you to return it?" I returned my order to Fine Linens that day and paid $11.45 for Priority Mail. I wish your company well but will not order again from you. Thanks for this opportunity to express my issues and reach closure.

Hi I am very very sorry you were disappointed in the items you received, we strive to have the very best images of the products online and most of the time the manufacturer provides us with those images. However each and ever monitor you use to look could look different online, Which may be the case with this one. As far as the construction of the sham, that is actually how all companies make shams. It is called a French back opening and allows the pillow to go in so you do not see the pillow stick out the side. I am also very sorry about the return shipping charges, as a small business we offer free shipping on all items right now, however we cannot offer free shipping on all returns right now. There are many companies out there that do offer free shipping but an equal amount that provide you a shipping label for the return and just deduct that from the refund total. If there is anything else I can do for you please let me know Dave
