My husband and I frequently go to Stratford, Ontario, for the Shakespeare Festival, an easy drive from our home in Michigan. The first trip this year was to begin on 5/12, and on the morning of 5/08 I reminded my husband, age 81, to get his stuff together, including his passport. "Oops", he said shortly thereafter, "it expired in March", adding blithely, "but you can go to Canada with just a driver's license". "NONONO", I said, "those days are over, you NEED a passport." After some searching I found Fastport Passport on line, but, not being the swiftest on the internet, was confused and ready to resign myself to the fact that I could now throw several hundred dollars' worth of theater tickets into the trash. Then I connected with SAM, THE ANGEL, and through many patient phone calls she walked me through the entire process step by step. By 7 pm that day the package was with FedEx, and when I let out the dog today, Tuesday, there was THE PASSPORT. Shortly thereafter, a lady from the US passport office called to confirm that we actually had it. I am really touched by Sam's care and concern. Without her, this trip to the Stratford Festival, which, at our age may well be the last one, would not be taking place. Thank you!
