Thought I would try this box - disappointed in whole experience
Thought I would try this box, even though I am not much of a "girly girl". Maybe I would enjoy some stuff I wouldn't normally buy, usually because beauty products are so expensive, and if you don't like it, you are stuck. They were running a special where you would get a couple of additional items with your purchase. I ordered, then later that day saw a commercial for $10 off order, and wished I had found that instead, but that part is on me. Well, I bought it and was stuck anyway, and forget about customer service. When you first go in to order, there is a customization option where you can pick some items to come in your box. As a brand new customer, I was unfamiliar with their services and site and was just trying to get through it. I found that out of the 5 or so options on each choice page, only one or two were still available, and probably because no one wanted those choices. But it brought up the question that if the items you wanted are not available and you do not make a choice from the remaining items, they have a surprise me option. I wasn't sure if the "surprise me" was from the sad items that were left on the page, or if they sent something else. If they sent a random item from the leftovers, I was going to cancel as I wouldn't have wanted or used any of those items. So I thought I would call customer service. Uh oh. Customer service is farmed out to a non-English speaking country and their employees are not at all familiar with the actual workings of their website. I spent a bit of time trying to explain to the agent what I was speaking about, citing the actual text and pages on the website and so on. When I hung up, I was no more informed than before I called. I decided to roll the dice and proceed with the order. I also received a follow up e-mail asking how their customer service was. I explained what happened and guess what? I received no response. So I would say there is no customer service at this company. When I got the box, my 20 year old daughter and I opened it. She is more into make-up than I am, so I figured between the two of us, it would be like Christmas. We received 8 items for $50. 1. a bottle of water to spray on your face 2. a shower sponge with soap already in it 3. a jar of face mask 4. make-up finishing spray 5. tea towels 6. a face mask sampler 7. a small bottle of wrinkle moisturizer 8. a wrinkle remover glo light As the bonus gifts we got a reed diffuser, a cheap bracelet, and one other thing I can't remember. This is their $50 box. I gave items 1, 3, 4, 6 and bonus stuff to my daughter. She thought she may get some use out of some of them. The glo light was probably the most expensive and least practical item in there. What am I going to do with that? Water to spray on your face? 25% of items are face masks. Tea towels are being used right now. Shower sponge is fun, but scent of infused soap is not so hot, going to power through it. Haven't used moisturizer yet. Cannot use diffuser because we have cats. I know, I know, you are probably saying this chick is just never satisfied. I say, nay, nay, untrue. I love surprise packs. Tupperware used to do them, other companies do them. I just ordered a box of surprise organic vegetables from Misfit Market and am waiting for that to come in. It was way less money and it is probably going to be great and maybe inspire me to try something different that may be in the box that I have never had. But this box doesn't make me want to spray makeup glue (setter) on my face. Yes, of course, you sometimes wind up with a dud among your gems. But unfortunately, this box has a gem among the duds. And I think even worse than that (because after all, this is just my opinion, and you could absolutely LOVE everything in this box), is the horrible customer service. In summary, I still don't have an answer to my initial question, I am not impressed with 8 items for $50 dollars, and someone at the thrift store is going to love a wrinkle light. .
