This company breaks the law and scams customers
This company is a scam and broke several laws during my move - including Hostage Freight,(federal Household Goods Mover statute (49 U.S.C. § 13905), demanding more than 110% of my estimate at time of delivery (federal 110% Rule (regulated under Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 375), established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and requiring me to meet them in a remote location to move goods myself. (U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration FMCSA-ESA-03-006) The movers arrived at 9pm at night and tried to force me to pay almost $2k in addition to what I had already paid, and I then had to leave 1/3rd of my furniture behind in order to avoid the upcharge. They still upcharged me for “special packaging” of goods. They refused to deliver to my apartment unless I paid $500 for shuttle service which was not disclosed in my contract, and threatened to postpone my move indefinitely, holding my goods hostage, which is considered Hostage Freight and is against the law. I then had to drive 60 miles away to the remote parking lot where my items were and move them myself in a Uhaul truck I had to rent. Moving with this company was easily the worst experience of my life. They have a record number of complaints on the FMCSA Household Goods Program Page. Terrible service, deceptive business practice, hostage freight, and failure to follow the law.

If I could give zero stars i would
If I could give zero stars, I would I relocated from New Jersey to Colorado at the end of December. They picked my stuff up mid December and told me it would take a couple of weeks to arrive in Colorado. It’s now January 1. I just moved across the country by myself and I can tell from my Apple AirTag that my belongings are in a warehouse in New Jersey still, I call every single day where customer service is so extremely rude the actual owner of the company spoke with me on the phone and he basically told me that me calling every day wasn’t going to speed up the move. He also then began to mansplain and use an example of his Amazon order taking longer than normal to deliver. Multiple phone calls where customer service lied to me saying they were loading my stuff up, but I could tell from my AirTag nothing moved for weeks. Meanwhile, I’ve spent multiple thousands of dollars on my entire life that’s in their hands and that’s what he tells me. Fast forward a month later my belongings finally arrive and they completely broke my desk. The help that they hired to unload my move also tried pushing me to tip them $200 on top of the experience. I already had super unprofessional and very invasive and made me really uncomfortable in my home. I purchased external movers insurance, and I also have insurance with them and nobody paid me back. My desk was never refunded for and I just had to take the bite for it. I would never recommend this company to anyone a complete f**** scam. Literally would never suggest this “company” to my worst enemy

NY to California move..... Highly Disappointed
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Express Movers Service. It has been almost a month since my move from New York to California, and I still have not received my belongings. This has caused an incredible amount of stress and uncertainty.
What makes matters worse is the lack of communication. Every time I call for an update, I’m met with a dismissive attitude, as if my concerns are an inconvenience rather than a valid issue. There has been no clear timeline, no proactive updates—just frustration after frustration.
Moving is already a major life transition, and this company has made it significantly harder. At this point, I feel completely helpless and unheard as a customer.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before using Express Movers Service. BEWARE! Based on my experience, the service, communication, and reliability are simply AWFUL!!!

DO NOT USE EXPRESS MOVERS SERVICES INC
I am not sure if this even helps, but if anyone reads this before going with this company for moving services, it will be worth it.
Like most have stated it is a classic bait and switch. They will give you a price to close the deal and once they are on location to do the move, they totally change the price. It was double what they quoted me. Their reasoning is that I did not tell them that the couch was a relining couch. It was no bigger than a regular couch and could not take up more room. Once you are on the day of the move, you are stuck and have to accept their charges. It is a racket.
The moving crew that took my stuff was OK. However, they did not inform me that my stuff would not go directly to my new location. They told me that I would have the stuff within 6 days of the move from MD to TX. On the 6 day, I called to inquire when my delivery would be and was told that the items were in NJ in a warehouse and was not on the list to be delivered. I had to call every day from 6/26 - 7/2 to finally get a delivery date. My delivery date was 7/5, but they did not show up until 10 PM on 7/6. I told them that I was not moving stuff in at that time, so they stated that I had to move it in first thing on 7/7 or else they would send it back and charge me. The moving people to offload were not as good as the ones that packed my stuff. One worker smelled like he had just finished lighting up, but they did move the stuff in ok. The state of the cardboard boxes were terrible. They must have packed them in stacks of 10 because they were all crumbled up. I was missing a box and a bookshelf, which they signed off and agreed. Also, my sit/stand desk was broken and could not raise anymore.
I had insurance but they are evasive and keep going around about how they are not liable even though it is clear on their contract. I sent certified mail evidence and they just did not respond hoping that I would just let it go. After a while they just stopped taking my calls. I will never use them again, neither can I recommend them to you unless you want poor service that is overpriced.

I hope they all choke to death…slowly and painfully.
Hmmm. Just moved two weeks ago. 270 miles. Initially, Rochelle quoted us $9750. Claimed it was a veteran owned company. I’m a combat veteran, and that went a long way with me. She was sweet, “helpful”, and had no issues answering questions that she obviously had no correct answers to. I was originally quoted $9800 to move my apartment, my girlfriend’s apartment, my single garage, and a 10x20 storage unit, with a 53’ tractor trailer. 6 non-English speaking idiots showed up with 2 jankey box trucks, The one Latino “the foreman” struggled speaking our national language, started at my storage unit, climbed all over my possessions, damaged quite a few, and pretended that he was in the right. Express Movers Services, Inc then proceeded to hold our possessions hostage, knowing that we were vacating our residences that day, and refused to load a single item unless they were paid $8,2720.20 immediately, then the same amount upon delivery. The original signed contract was for $9800 upon delivery. . They increased the cost of the move to $21,324.40, and when we complained, they decreased it by $2,000. Absolute horse shit. This is classic bait and switch. Avoid this company at all costs. They also damaged over $5,000 worth of tools, equipment, and lost a few personal, heirloom possessions. I’ve already hired a lawyer to return the $10,000+ bum screwing.

Furniture arrived damaged and broken and they will not take accountability for it. They are not professional.
