Food sensitivity test. Beware of inaccurate results if you avoid foods prior to testing
I've been using Everlywell for several years and have always been happy. This time I decided to do a food sensitivity test and when I got my results it said "Results are based on your current diet, so if you haven’t consumed a certain food for a longer period of time, it isn’t likely to show up in your results." I feel like I threw money away on this test. There should have been a clear explanation on how the test actually works. I had several things show up in my list that I have never eaten. But there are some foods that had I known results may be dependent on how recently I ate them, I would have eaten those foods before doing the testing. This was a very expensive test.

Thank you for your feedback! To clarify, it is not necessary to adjust your diet prior to your test. That said, IgG reactivity breaks down over time. So, if you have avoided a specific food for a while, it may show up as a lower reactivity in your results. We'd never recommend eating foods that cause negative symptoms—it's important to understand that if you're not currently eating a food, it's not likely to be behind your current symptoms.
