This is a nightmare. It took a month to get this system working after initial install. During that month i racked up over $8000 in hidden charges to get this system working. Then the electrician disappeared and left me with only half my house connected to the solar in the first place. I've been getting by with extension cords until about 2 months after install i go out and find moubting bolts for the panels on the ground. I call the installer i overpaid to fix it since its only been 2 freaking months. Then the guy bills me $200 but says im getting a $175 discount because of the vanishing electician. So i got billed $400 for him to fix something he installed that fell apart in 2 months. While i was still seething about that and deciding whether i should block that charge through my credit card the whole system started blinking off about 15 times a day. 15 times a day my 3d printer fails, my wifi disconnects, and i lose whatever file is open on my computer. 15 times a day. Im more than angry at this point. $48000 nightmare.

Not possible to recommend buying products from this company in Denmark.
After seeing the specifications of their solar system on the danish Enphase web site I decided to buy the products late 2024.
But just after installation it became clear that Enphase does not deliver anything near what they promises on their web site. Acoording to the specifications on the web site, the system should provide features to store and sell energy on demand, provide user selectable usage of batteries and provide backup in case of grid down.
None of above are possible. Enphase basically do not deliver anything of what they promises on their web site.
The system do produce power and yes it do store energy in the batteries but its uncontrollable by the customer(me) and worse you can’t switch it off unless physically on the main switch board.
The system should be fully manageable by the App.. But that not correct, the App is for show off and contains no means to manage any part of the system. The options to manage the system by other means are like HomeAssistant are not embraced by Enphase and it seems as they are not interested in users using anything but the App.
Up to now my installer and I have tried for the last 6 months to get Enphase to deliver what they promises and to at least provide correct information about the installation in the App, that have not happened and in Denmark the conclusion must be that Enphase can’t provide the products as promised and also Enphase can’t provide support to installers or customers.

Dear Flemming,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear about your frustration, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points.
🔹 Backup Functionality
Enphase systems do support backup functionality when installed with the IQ System Controller 3 (or earlier compatible models). This controller is essential for enabling backup, as it automatically detects grid outages and transitions the system to off-grid operation.
Please note that backup systems are not currently available in Denmark, which is why this feature is not reflected on our Danish website. For reference, you can explore our product information here.
🔹 System Configuration
If your system includes only IQ Battery R2 units, the system does not support backup functionality, and this limitation is in line with the product descriptions currently available for Denmark. The newer IQ Battery 5P (R3), combined with the IQ System Controller, can enable backup in supported markets.
🔹 Battery Management & App Features
While we currently do not offer official integration with third-party platforms like Home Assistant (due to regulatory limitations in Europe), the Enphase App provides full management of your battery system, including self-consumption settings, export control, and performance optimization. This is also applicable to the IQ Battery R2.
We understand this may not have been clear during your purchase, and we sincerely apologize for any miscommunication. If you’d like, we are happy to review your system configuration with you and explore any potential improvements.
📞 Feel free to reach us at +45 78714788 or let us know a convenient time for a call.
Thank you again for your feedback — we remain committed to improving our communication and supporting our customers in Denmark.

Subject: Warranty and Service Concerns with Enphase Equipment
My first interaction with Enphase began in 2021 when I purchased my current home—an all-electric residence on 3 acres in Clovis, CA. It came with an 8 kW Enphase roof-mounted system, but with no Envoy, I couldn’t monitor production. The prior owner was still receiving high true-up bills, which made me assume the system was undersized for the home and my large family.
On recommendation, I added a separate 17.6 kW Enphase ground-mounted system. While the installer left much to be desired, the Enphase equipment itself has performed well.
In February 2025, I received a true-up of over $1,800. Still unable to monitor the roof system, I hired another installer, who suggested adding an Envoy. It quickly revealed 29 of 36 microinverters were showing production errors. He performed thorough diagnostics—including a new home run—and submitted a detailed report with a spreadsheet of failed units to Enphase on April 21, 2025.
As of today, June 2, we’re still being bounced between representatives with no resolution. Meanwhile, I continue to pay high electric bills for a system that should be working—despite the fact these inverters are under warranty.
I had intended to add storage to my system, but based on this experience, I will not be using Enphase equipment going forward.

I spoke with Enphase customer support after being on hold for over 45 minutes—yes, a full 45 minutes. I eventually reached a representative who released the microinverters along with the cables. When I asked about lead time, I received a vague, generic response.
Now, I find myself waiting once again—this time for Enphase to approve an RMA that had already been approved. It’s now June 5, and I’m still waiting.
If Enphase truly values its customers, they should not be left on hold for excessive periods or forced to wait weeks to resolve a valid warranty claim.
Enphase needs to start walking the walk—not just talking. Right now, it feels like all talk, while customers are left to absorb the financial burden. In my opinion, this stems from outsourcing support services to cut costs, all while jeopardizing long-term trust and tripping over future dollars just to save a few dimes today.
