We have owned our ELS cat litter system for 10 months and I’m just about to retire it and go back to the $20 litter tray. The unit looks cool and the apps is impressive although it does not save time. Our cat uses it when it rains or he is locked in the house which is rarely although every time he uses it, it smells. Maybe our cat is an expert contortionists when he is in the unit as there is always wee under the litter base. My other favourite is when there is poo stuck in the fingers of the system and smeared on the walls of the unit. I’m an expert at pulling apart the unit cleaning it and reloading the bag as I do pretty much everytime the cat uses the unit. It is raining today so my cat “Mr Jinx” did a poo in the unit and it the unit jammed - this happens every 3-4 weeks. I put my favourite music on, put my gloves on and went to my special place as I pulled the unit to pieces to see what was happening , after gagging as I cleaned the poo off the fingers I noticed two of the fingers are bent. That explains the spooky noises it makes when it operates. Anyway please do your research when you buy an automatic kitty litter machine. I’m going to wash my hands again.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! Company does not stand behind this product. Mine arrived and didn't work from the get go. I have repeatedly called and emailed them with no response. This is a piece of crap. According to their customer service dept there is no presence in the United States. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Malfunctions A LOT! Is messy and litter leaks out of the sides. I’d emailed asking for return and they wanted videos and I said you said guarantee and I don’t like it. I followed up at day 92 and haven’t received a response. Now the inside of the bottom is peeling off!

One of the worst purchases I've ever made. We felt comfortable because they offer a "90-day money back guarantee" but this is a total lie. Upon assembling our litter box we immediately noticed how poor the quality of the product was, and the app that works with it seems very invasive and possibly like it would even be a security risk. Needless to say, we couldn't get the litter box set up and immediately started doing more research, only to find that there are some awful reviews online for this product and company. We tried to send the litter box back and they were going to charge us $190 between a cleaning fee (ours was never used, we only put some litter in it and dumped it out as we packed the product back up) as well as a restocking fee and return shipping. To get a full refund they tried to make us jump through a number of hoops before trying to get us to keep the litter box for a $60 partial refund. Everything about this company is shady and it also seems they are suppressing negative reviews both on Amazon and elsewhere online. I've reported them to the FTC and immediately ordered a Litter Robot, which is a superior item/company in every way imaginable.

Before emailing Elspet I was very concerned about the reviews I read here. Regardless I was having trouble with the poo not being cleared from cat box properly, so with low expectations I contacted them. They replied promptly, requesting a video which I sent them in reply. They instructed me very politely on how to deal with the issue. I also mentioned I had a broken rake, which they replaced free of charge. So in summary, this company is not a scam (as some have claimed) , they dealt with my issues, promptly, politely and efficiently. A special thanks to Suki

Agree this is the most frustrating cleaner cause it only cleans for 2 days and then I have to break it down completely and start over. Last trouble they said they would email me and send another. Didn’t happen. Besides should I stop payment cause I’m doing 95% of the cleaning.

When I ordered the self cleaning liter box I used shop pay, which had my home address wrong. No fault of elspet. But I noticed it as soon as the order was placed. I immediately changed the address in shop but it didn't change it on the order. I immediately emailed elspet and 2 days later they responded and told me to call fedex. Well only the shipper can change the destination address, so I then called customer service which informed me it was taken care of which it was not. So now i have to buy a temporary liter box for my new cat which is a big hassle. Now I'm not sure when and if I will get my order.

***Update *** after back and forth with customer service they were able to assist me with my issue, so far works great. They are scammers , declaring on website 90 days of trial period. They sent me broken litter robot for 3 month I’m just asking for exchange for properly working and they keep repeating same stuff like we are apologize and don’t do anything about it but
