I bought a blower with a 2.5 amp battery to check out Egos products… I liked it and invested in a 26” hedge trimmer and a 5 amp Ego battery… Using the correct charger, I tried to use the battery on my blower but it shut of after several seconds of use… I was charging my 2.5 amp battery at this time and it charged normally. I attempted to contact Ego at their service number and waited an hour on hold, while my other battery was charging, then opted for the automatic call back which had not come several hours later… I am not concerned about the defective battery because it was probably some type of manufacturing issue and lack of quality control, but I found their customer service bad enough that this isn’t the quality of company that I am willing to work with. Will be returning my new unused hedge trimmer and the new battery. Will sell my blower, charger, and 2.5 amp battery to someone at a discount. My next goal is to find an optional supplier.

Really interesting to see all the bad reviews, as this was not my experience at all. I’ve had an Ego mower, hedge trimmer and two batteries for 3 yrs. The charger looked like it wasn’t working, so I bought a new charger. This one didn’t work either, and I realised maybe the battery was the issue. As Ego is based down the road near me in Nottingham I popped in to ask them what to do. They were so helpful. They agreed on the spot to take the battery and both chargers and test them. They called me back a hour later, said both chargers were fine and the issue was the battery. They refunded me for the new charger, and gave me a new battery. They were friendly, keen to help, and exceeded my expectations. I hardly ever leave reviews, but this was so good I felt I had to, so I could say thank you. Great work.

This smacks of built-in redundancy in the battery's control circuit. First battery (4.0AH) failed after just 12 months of use and two years of storage. A second battery (7.5AH) has failed after 3years and 3months of light use on a 80sqm flat lawn!!! The UK service centre no use whatsoever, a replacement would cost £349!!! It was explained to me that the battery was like paying for electricity up front, my reply was that I pay for the electricity when charging, the battery is storage!!! Also they do not repair or recycle (it would affect sales of new parts???) NOT VERY GREEN!!! They do however send batteries replaced under warranty back to Germany for repair/refurbishment, as they are paid to do this. Surprisingly bad company, part of Chevron Corp. would never buy from them again!!! Prospective buyers, you have been warned!!!

Worse customer service in the history of the planet. Will not back their products will do anything to get out of warranty If you purchase you deserve what you get after reading complaints

I called EGO on 11/13/2023 to get a replacement for 1 of my battery's after talking to the representative the warranty case was escalated and I was told a supervisor would call me, well it's 11/20/2023, and I've had 2 cases opened with EGO and I still haven't received a call or any answer when I will receive a replacement battery. Now when I look under customer service on my EGO account, I see case number 01891863 it states escalated to Zedd Supervisor? I have purchased 4 different tools from EGO and was planning on purchasing a chainsaw and a riding mower but that's not going to happen unless this issue is resolved quickly. I am very disappointed with EGO's customer service right now and will update any changes or lack thereof.

Battery died after one use and I have been calling Custmer service for weeks and either on hold for an hour or requesting a call back and never getting one. Haven’t been able to connect with anyone to help troubleshoot or replace the item.

Impossible to have someone answer the phone ..I got a notice that they had shipped a battery charger to me on the 31st of October .. it is now November 13th and no charger...the UPS number says a label has been created but when I try to track it it just says a label has been created I have spent hours on the phone tryimng to find out where the charger is ...BVUT no one will answer...this will be the last EGO product That I buy...

Terrible customer service. They outsource their customer service to out of the country. The English language is barely understood. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with them. That is AFTER i called multiple times on their 800 number,and left two messages for a call back. The woman I spoke with with VERY patronizing. Didn’t believe me when I told her the battery had died. Told me, “well, when and ONLY when we get a copy of your receipt in an email, will we begin to send the order to our warehouse and when and ONLY when that happens you will be sent a tracking number”. Mind you, this is after the product was only five months old, and I had registered it, and i was very much still under warranty. They refused to believe me even after i had registered the product. I will NEVER purchase an EGO product again. If this is the kind of customer service they have, no way. Their products are far too expensive to warrant this kind of treatment.
