DYU C1 City E-Bike The E-Bike came partly assembled in a large box and was very well protected. All the tools needed to assemble it were in another box and (apart from charging the battery) it didn't take long before the bike was ready to be ridden. The first time I took it for a ride was great. It has large tyres (although it isn't a mountain bike) plus front suspension and the seat has springs to absorb any bumps - and there were a lot in the road I biked down. Having a Shimano 7 speed gearbox helped as I picked up speed. I have never ridden a bike as fast as this one - in fact it is years since I rode a bike. But I rode it every day for the next 3 days before the battery needed charging again. This E-bike is a step through design which is easier to use - so anyone of a similar age to me would cope very well having no crossbar. It is ideal for travelling to work or just going on a bike ride which is what I use it for. DYU have a winner with this E-Bike and take great care in the packaging and I can thoroughly recommend it.

It's a fun little bike! I have the DYU C2 16 Inch Full Folding Electric Bike and the affordability and portability are the best aspects of this bike. The fact that it folds and takes up less than half of the trunk space in my Toyota RAV4 is incredible. You do have to be able to lift 58 pounds if you plan to put it in the trunk, but it's not too bad and easier than having a big bike rack on a hitch. The bike is comfortable enough despite me being almost 6 feet tall. I mostly use it to ride to the store, around the neighborhood or town, and on a greenway or pretty smooth gravel trail. The suspension is just enough to keep it comfortable, brakes are solid, and the throttle is fun. I find myself using the throttle more than the pedals because, at the higher speed, pedaling feels a bit silly due to the bike already going fast and the lack or gears. If you're looking to also get a good workout, this may not be the bike for you. But if you're looking for the other things I already mentioned, it's hard to beat this bike for the price!

I've had the C1 eBike now for over 3 months, and drove over 500km with it so far. It's an excellent city bike with semi-fat tires, and it really offers a great experience with the budget pricing. I'd imagine this is close to being the best you can get within this lower price range (1000€ or under). I have experience with 2 earlier eBikes, both in about 2000€ price range, and I feel this DYU is still better than those. At least this C1 is more powerful, and offers a smoother ride. The engine is pretty powerful for this price range, and the battery can go at least 40km in my use, with the full assist on at all times (Sport mode). Of course the battery will go further with the Eco or Drive setting, if that is your preference. The engine will not "brake" when not pedalling (as is the usual case with rear wheel engines), so you can go as fast as you like. The max speed is 24kph in my case (indicated by the integrated display on the handlebar), which is more than enough in most city areas. I only wish I could get this bike to go 34kph for my commute trips to work, since longer straights seem to take forever. The build quality seems very solid, and the rear rack offers great utility, when for example traversing with my 6yo son (with a separate safety seat for him installed on top of it). The front suspension and the soft seat (also with suspension) offers a very nice and smooth ride on all city surfaces. The brakes and the gears work well, just needed a bit of basic adjustment when I started to ride with the bike. Overall a very pleasant experience, and I have nothing major to criticise. My only concern is the future maintenance of the bike, as DYU is not a common brand here in Finland. My local bike workshops might not be able to fix all problems that might come along the way during the years, but that is a worry for the future me. Currently I greatly enjoy this bike, and will continue to use it as long as I can. Thank you DYU for a great eBike!

So upon unboxing the bike it came with all the tools and was pretty easy putting it together. I then took it for a ride testing numerous things like, manual, pedal assist and throttle. I was very happy with the performance. Best bit was that it doesn't take up much space so storage isn't an issue!
