I purchased an ebike from DYU and I had a lot of questions. DYU's customer service is one of the best that I have ever dealt with. I would ask a question and the very next day, I would get a reply. Their bike is really sturdy and well made. Thank you, DYU, for making a great product.

This bike is extremely dangerous and…
This bike is extremely dangerous and has potential deadly manufacturing defects. The seller of the bike has no replacement bikes (C9) to exchange either (not the official DYU store but it is brand certified). First thing I noticed? The box was falling apart. It was so severely damaged it literally fell apart and was completely unusable. It was being held together but the big zip tie like things and not the actual cardboard. The shipping took 2 days as well, so it seems like they willingly shipped the bike out like that. The rear mudguard was a bit bent because of this and I'm sure there was some other issues caused by that extremely damaged box. Second thing I noticed? Bike is half assembled. Things that shouldn't have been assembled were already assembled. Not things like the rear wheel but random accessories and very easy things to assemble. It makes me think that the bike was returned, then sold as new so the company could try and make a profit off the bike. This company made 15 million dollars last year by the way. Third thing I noticed and didn't notice? The motor gets stuck & it rubs pretty loudly. I didn't hear the rubbing because I was blasting music in my helmet and thought I could trust DYU but I guess not. At first the motor got stuck in only PAS 5 then PAS 4 then whenever the chains falls off it'd get stuck in lower PAS like 3/2. I then reproduced the issue and found out that the bike will literally GO FULL THROTTLE with no PAS on if the chain is off and you just start pedaling. Imagine you're trying to go slow maybe because there's a bunch of traffic a head and BAM the bike starts going 20+ mph. That's deadly consequences. The forth thing I noticed which is also extremely horrifying given what you've read about this bike is that both the front and rear brakes would give out randomly. Stuck motor AND both brake lines give out! I almost got seriously hurt multiple times from this. These are deadly manufacturing defects. The bike also arrived with loose disc brakes confirmed by the DYU seller I talked to. The seller also confirmed the bike is suppose to be new and come with the correct amount of screws. I had to use zip ties and a decent amount at that to secure everything. Funny enough the zip ties secured some of the parts better than the screws did as some vibrated off. The rear brakes are also extremely loud. Hennyways the breaking point quite literally was the rim bending so badly the bike is completely unrideable.
AND the seller not only ghosted me but had kept contact with me for about 5 days. The seller asked me what replacement parts I needed, then decided it was their time to ghost me and completely end the convo. Literally put the inquiry as completed with a paper trail that it was NOT... What's even worse is that the DYU warranty team has also completely ghosted me. And trust me I tried to get them to respond. Email them on a Monday. sent multiple emails, sent quite A LOT of proof, not to mention their warranty email service dyucycle email isn't their actual warranty email. The warranty team responded very quickly in less than 12 hours, then ironically their actual warranty team dyudyudyucycle email has not responded. I sent the email on Sept 14th, 15th, and I've forwarded and added more things to the email so they've gotten or should've gotten at least 5 emails? 10+ if we include both emails. It is Sept 21st and no resolution has been made and of course I'm still being ghosted.
As of Sept 22nd the seller wants me to take a $220 dollar refund. Where’s the warranty team at with the replacement parts?? Was the warranty card I was sent completely void? Isn’t that illegal under U.S. federal law? Why can’t DYU send me a replacement C9 bike or the actual replacement parts? Doesn’t that make you wonder why they aren’t replacing anything? Almost sounds like they knowingly gave me a warranty card knowing they wouldn’t have a replacement bike or parts if needed.

Difficult experience, but DYU ultimately provided a fair resolution
I bought my DYU Stroll 1 in November 2025, and unfortunately my experience since then has been extremely frustrating.
It started with an issue with the battery/lock, which already required repairs. Not long afterwards, the motor assistance stopped working completely. The bike would turn on normally, with the display and lights working, but there was no assistance from the motor.
After a long back and forth with DYU, I followed their troubleshooting instructions and took the bike to a repair shop. Based on DYU's recommendation, the speed sensor was replaced. The bike worked again after the repair, and I thought the issue had finally been resolved.
Only a few weeks later, however, exactly the same problem returned.
I have since taken the bike to a repair shop again. They checked the sensor and the accessible cables/connections and could not identify a problem. The issue therefore appears to be somewhere else, potentially involving the motor, controller or another electrical component.
DYU's proposed solution is once again for me to find a repair shop to diagnose the bike. This is simply not a realistic solution. The repair shops I have contacted are not familiar with DYU or this specific model, have no experience with these bikes and do not have access to the necessary DYU diagnostic information or tools.
I don't think a customer should have to repeatedly find repair shops, organize troubleshooting and spend their own time trying to diagnose an electrical fault on a bike that is less than a year old and still under warranty.
What makes this particularly disappointing is that I already followed DYU's proposed repair solution once, and the exact same failure returned shortly afterwards.
At this point, I have spent far too much time dealing with emails, repairs and troubleshooting instead of simply being able to use the bike I paid for.
I have now asked DYU for a proper and permanent solution – whether that means an appropriate refund/compensation, a replacement, or a repair arranged and covered by DYU through someone who is actually able to diagnose and repair their bikes.
I will update this review depending on how DYU handles the situation from here.
UPDATE #1: After responding publicly to my review and saying they wanted to find a proper solution, DYU has now offered me €100 as their “final solution”, but only on the condition that my warranty is closed and they will no longer handle any related faults with the bike.
So I would be left with a defective e-bike, receive €100, and lose any further warranty support.
I find this extremely questionable, especially considering the bike was purchased less than a year ago and the same defect returned after following DYU’s repair instructions.
Needless to say, I have declined the offer.
Update #2 – Resolution reached
After a difficult and lengthy warranty process regarding the motor assistance issue on my DYU Stroll 1, DYU has now worked with me to find a resolution.
Following further communication with their customer service team, we have agreed on €300 compensation for the motor assistance issue. DYU has also confirmed that this settlement does not affect my remaining warranty rights for unrelated parts of the bike.
I appreciate that DYU ultimately took my concerns seriously and was willing to find a pragmatic solution. I will update this review again once the agreed compensation has been received.

Hi there,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we are truly sorry for the ongoing frustration you've experienced with your DYU Stroll 1. We completely agree that in-warranty support should not feel exhausting, and asking you to repeatedly visit local repair shops without a definitive fix is not the experience we aim to deliver.
Your case requires a more comprehensive solution than step-by-step part replacements. To help us locate your support ticket and order details immediately, could you please contact us directly at [email protected] with your Order Number and reference this Trustpilot review?
Our senior support team will prioritize your request to review your full service history and work with you directly on a permanent resolution—whether that involves a whole-unit replacement, advanced repair arrangements, or alternative warranty solutions.
Warm regards,
DYU Customer Care Team

Perfect voor mijn studie in Amsterdam!
Ideaal voor ritten tussen m'n lezingen door. De fiets is lekker wendbaar op drukke fietspaden en door het compacte formaat parkeer ik hem overal makkelijk bij de campus.

To longing for the next bicycle ride…
I bought two DYU C9 bicycles a couple a weeks ago. The parcels came as it should. On YouTube there is a great installation video from DYU cycle that supported me a lot to make the installation smooth and quick. After some adjustments of the gears the fun started. When you pedal, the engine starts up and you can choose three different levels, what speed your engine will support you and drive. You need still to pedal for it to work. When you get a grip of it, it’s great for my needs. Now I’m longing for the next ride.

Super fast shipping! This electric wagon is super sturdy
a bit heavy, but totally fine. My husband and I use it to haul gear around for our garden, and it's been such a huge help!
