this company sucks. It sucks to such a degree that I can't begin to put into words how bad it is. The website is downright atrocious, how do you make your website an endless loop of clicking a link to chat with a representative and it sends you back to the dashboard? Not to mention when you finally DO get ahold of someone at this god forsaken company they have dogshit attitudes. The ONLY reason Duke energy is still a functioning corporation is because they have a MONOPOLY on the energy sector in North Carolina. I despise duke energy with a passion and i can't believe i have to give them as much money as i do every month just to live in the modern age.

Last month, September, my payment didn't go through. I called them twice to try to resolve it. Twice they told me there was no problem and not to worry about it. Then, this month, the sent me a double bill for two months that I could barely manage. They are incompetent, and they pass their incompetency on to their customers to shoulder.

My bill should be between $100 and $120 for a three-bedroom apartment in Horizon West (a new condominium complex built two to four years ago), but it's coming to $548.87, which is absolutely ridiculous. The chat service doesn't respond, the phone doesn't give you the option, they say they'll transfer you but they don't. It's a huge lack of respect for the consumer. I don't know how a company like this is allowed to operate in Florida. I'm going to have to sue this company, because that's the only way to be heard. What's the point of having a chat or phone number if you can't talk to someone in charge of the company?

Powers always going out. Takes them all day to fix it. Price gouging everyone. Scam artists. What are we even paying for?

Paid emergency electric bill to avoid shutoff from valid bank account with sufficient funds preverified on their website.Duke claims it was rejected by bank but there is no reason for it,Duke wants $30 charge back fee in addition. Also doubles bill mysteriously 2x a year with double KW usage & their new electronic meters.No extensive A/C use was used. Calling their reps is waiting to speak to paid liars.

I accidentally picked the wrong due date on the mobile app and called them, spoke to a supervisor to ask them to adjust the due date since it was a simple typo error. They refused to care or fix it and told me I have to wait 12 months before I can pick a new due date again. This is a absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. It was a very simple task. I don't recommend this company to anyone. They definitely do not care about their customers, only the money and they made that very apparent today.

I have had to create 3 separate work orders to get a street light bulb replaced. I have paid a monthly fee for the past 25 years for this light, yet they claim to have no record of this light existing. Pathetic customer service.

I am unable to sign in due to "Planned website maintenance." I did not receive an email or any message on my phone alerting me of this "planned maintenance." If you are going to lock people out of the website on a Friday morning for something that is "planned," customers should be alerted at least a week in advance. I got no such message. Also, Friday morning is a terrible time to do "planned maintenance." If this is an outage, the "planned maintenance" message should not be displayed. This is what happens when you do not hire experienced web developers and IT managers. Do better. It is Friday, people are trying to pay their bills. -Sent to Duke Energy today. They just freaking suck. I think there is a solar co-op around here. Do that instead.
